    I purchased the 2020 Honda Accord Touring 2.0 in March. I am very impressed with its performance, ride and comfort, as well as all the new technology. My Accord has two USB outlets in the back seat, just under the AC outlets. I also like how well the headlights light up the road; much better that our previous car, a 2011 Honda Accord V6/Navigation. We also test drove a Nissan Maxima, Acura Elite and a Hyundai Sonata, and picked this one. It's the best by far, and so much room in the back seat.

      That is definitely something we can do, thank you for the suggestion! There should be a closed captioning button; if you're on a desktop computer, the CC button on the bottom right of the screen will display captions. If you're on a mobile phone, there should be three dots on the top right corner of the video, tap those three dots and select the option to turn on subtitles.
      Hopefully this helps,

    @1:09
    "The LED low and high beam headlights"
    That feature can be disabled, and should be disabled (the procedure is buried in the manual, and takes almost 1 minute -- but needs to be done only once).
    Although Honda has done a remarkable job with all of the technology built in to the Accord, the auto high beams feature is not always spot-on accurate. This results in you blinding and annoying other drivers.
    Unless you live in the wilderness, or somewhere where the homes are miles apart, then please do not inadvertently be one of those people that other drivers complain about with high beams on.
    Disabling the auto high beams does not stop you from pulling the lever to manually turn on the high beams. And the regular lights do a very good job illuminating the road. There just is not a valid reason to drive around with high beams that occasionally blind other drivers, because Honda's sensors are not perfect.
    @1:26
    "Remote Starter" ..."with the exception of the LX model"
    The Sport 1.5 engine does not come standard with the remote starter (it is optional).
    @3:57
    "Econ mode and Sport mode"
    For those not familiar with the vehicle:
    There are 3 modes (not just Econ and Sport). There is a Regular mode (although that mode has no name that I am aware of). Regular mode is when you are in neither Econ mode nor Sport mode.
    Econ will yield the best fuel economy. It is best for traffic and highway cruising. If you leave it on Econ for local driving (lots of light-to-light, stop signs, repeated 0-40 MPH driving), then you will have a frustrating drive, because the car drives sluggishly. It feels lazy. It maintains a higher gear, and delays the turbo boost. If you try to accelerate with some additional power, you have to put your foot down a good amount before any real acceleration happens.
    Sport mode is the opposite. The car is very responsive. It feels light and nimble. But at the cost of fuel economy.
    In Sport mode, the car maintains lower gears, giving instant power (due to more torque), and kicks in the turbo earlier, and increases the boost of the turbo. If you cruise down the highway in Sport mode (not recommended for casual highway driving), you will have to keep your foot on the accelerator more often, because the lower gear continually slows down the car (when you lift your foot). It takes only 10 or 20 seconds to slow from 60 MPH to 15 MPH in Sport mode, if you take your foot off of the gas. In Econ mode, the car will keep rolling and hardly slow down.
    Regular mode is dialed in perfectly.
    The car feels lively, and gets nearly as good gas mileage as Econ mode.
    @4:06
    Regarding paddle shifting: "If you let go of them, it'll put you back into Drive. You can do that in Sport mode as well"
    No. Sport mode is different.
    While in Sport mode, if you use the paddle shifters, the car will stay in that gear forever (well, it will downshift to keep from stalling if you slow down too much for your current gear). But it will then hold that gear and never change, etc.
    There are two ways to disable "manual mode" shifting while in Sport mode.
    1) Take yourself out of Sport mode.
    2) Remain in Sport mode, and hold the right shifter for 2 seconds.
    In the other driving modes, using the paddle shifters puts you in manual mode, and then automatically returns you to automatic shifting after 2 seconds (as long as you are not still pulling on the shifters).
    The stereo:
    This is where Honda cut corners (or they have someone in charge of that department who has never heard a great stereo system).
    You never forget that you are listening to a mechanical device. The stereo inserts itself into the audio performance, when it should be only recreating the audio performance.
    The speakers do not disappear. With a quality stereo, when you close your eyes, your ears should not be able to identify the location of the speakers.
    With a quality stereo system, you hear a wall of music, with a deep and wide soundstage and great imaging (space between instruments and performers). You get very little of this with the Accord's stereo.
    For the best sound quality, use a USB flash drive, and play lossless digital files, such as .flac or .wav files (steer clear of .mp3 files, which are the Kriptonite of audio fidelity). But the stereo has issues with the .flac format. It plays everything, up to and including 192 kHz / 24 bit content. The problem it has is when you try to click to the next song and even worse when you try to click to the next folder. Those actions take a minimum of 3 seconds and 5 seconds, respectively. This sucks. And the only other lossless alternative is the .wav format, which is not common for music purchasing and downloading. So you will have to convert .flac to .wav. That works, with zero loss of fidelity, and fixes the slow track changes. But you lose tags (metadata), such as being able to sort by the name of the artist.
    Also note that the Panasonic head unit (try finding that info on-line) is fussy about which USB flash drives it will play. It refused to play a Samsung flash drive. But I have had success with two different Sandisk flash drives (and Sandisk is Western Digital company, so those flash drives will probably work -- but I have not tested). Honda has zero information on which flash drives work, do not work, or if they ever tested if any flash drives work. If they do have any information, they are storing it at Area 51.
    The Accord is a fantastic car. Feature rich, fun to drive, fuel efficient, safe and reliable. I just wish that they used better audio gear (I think that the speakers are Pioneer (and they are not good -- they are not bad -- but they are not good)). The Panasonic head unit is integrated into everything, making an after-market upgrade expensive and will likely void the warranty. I am crossing my fingers that better speakers will do the trick.
    Cheers!

      What about a custom tune? I know the 2020 accord touring has the same 2.0T as the civic Type R, and the civic pushes 306 hp, while the factory down tune on the accord is 252 hp.

    • @NoEgg4u
      @NoEgg4u Před 4 lety

      @@oshanew9941 The Accord's 2.0 engine is identical to the Civic's Type R engine.
      However, the Accord's engine is de-tuned, and the Accord has a smaller turbo charger.
      Yes, you can increase the Accord's horsepower by undoing the de-tuning (or re-tuning for maximum performance). It will help, but will still have the smaller turbo charge. But the main problem is that if you mess with the engine's tuning, you will void the warranty. And the car's computer keeps a record of all changes. So even if you undo the tuning (returning it to stock), then when Honda services your car, they will see logs that tells them what you did.
      Perhaps there is a way to erase or edit the computer's logs? Otherwise, kiss your warranty goodbye.
      Cheers!

    Since this trim has smaller wheels, how is the planted feel of the car? Does it make a lot of noise tire noise or have traction issue when you are making sharp turns? I like this trim but I don't know if the wheels are able to handle that much torque.

    • @Penguin-kr9do
      @Penguin-kr9do Před 3 lety

      Smaller wheels are generally quieter and provide better ride quality and mileage. As for performance, I don't think there would be any issues. I mean, F1 cars use 13 inch wheels and they do fine.

      @stevestunning3326 Před 2 lety

      Smaller wheels = More sidewall between you and the road which means better protection from potholes and possibly a smoother ride. Most people won’t notice any difference in performance. I’ve had one for five months and I love it. Is comfortable most of the time and a beast when needed.

I upgraded them with JL Audio speakers for $600. Also the hood vibrates because it’s so light. The coolant reservoir is hidden behind the front bumper makes it inaccessible. Honda went cheap on these items to improve profit’s but it’s still a great car for the money.7
