How to remove, replace and/or file the points on your old Evinrude/Johnson

At the end I said "gap the plugs, but meant "gap the points".

I filed the points down and they are no longer touching. I hardly even filed them. Is their some way to adjust them and get them touching again.

You may have bent the spring that forces them together.
