Mike. Thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial. I have had the too for a while and now I am confident I can time my 5 HP Evinrude ("Angler") 2 Stroke perfectly.
Hi Mike, it's the quick and easy way to sync the points but I figured out how to set them without one. If I ever pick up those tools will try it but for now just set them the way I have.

I have an 1963 18hp seahorse. Motor just about starts to get the boat on plane, RPMs increase, then it cuts out. Do you happen to have a video for anything similar?

Quick question. When the timing tool is in between the marks, would you then gap the points at .020? Great videos as always.

Do you set the points at the timing mark or set the points at the "Top" arrow aligned with the point wiper. Sorry, I asked this question earlier but it somehow showed up on day 2 rebuild. Love your videos. You have helped me make my 1964 Fastwin 18hp run like new!

Does it matter what position the mag plate is in?
I don’t think so but I put it wide open.
