The amount planes reminds me of my neighbor. He's a farmer and has some of the wildest sh*t on his land. Some examples: A 1940s cop car his grampa salvaged from a lake, painted with cartoony seaweed. A 10 foot wooden model of the uss texas right on his back porch. A gyrocopter that he is trained and licensed to fly. A fully functional cabinet of the og mortal combat. 1, first arcade I'm going to if and when I hit Japan. 2, why did I not hear about a Bomber Man MOBA before? I mean, add two types of friend-enders in one game, and let's go! 3: Wait, 11:11 is that Minami Takahashi? I know you don't like idols, but wow!
Japanese arcade games are pretty cool. When I go to conventions I play a few like Initial D, some game about flipping a table, and my favorite: a first person gundam simulator. I always play the gundam simulator a lot because even though I can’t read it its pretty easy to get the hang of and it’s a blast
the absolute love that exudes out of the theming of that place just blows me away, also the Claw machines not giving a flying hoot & just being filled with whatever the owner thinks is cool perfectly describes how passionate it is also I've seen people stream Bombergirl & sadly the non-arcade versions got some heavy Gacha MTX mechanics otherwise it looks like an absolute blast (i guess the way you westernize it is you add the toggle to replace the Bombergirls with the models of the Bomberman R games)
Those are very specifically German license plates. White "D" on blue background are Germany and the first segment tells you the city/region. The second is random but you can pay for specific sequences if they are free and within the specs.
I found out a bit about Fukusaki in a short on the channel Japan Eat, where they talked about all the Yokai Statues put up to honor a famous folklorist from the area. He then went into talking about the barley soba because it's a food channel. I'd be fascinated to hear more about Fukusaki if you want to talk about other towns in Japan, plus it mixes well with Yokai Hunters. He also did a second video about food in Fukusaki & their barley ice cream.
WOW!!!! Apparently The Owner of Daikeien is a REAL Westaboo; and VERY Detail Oriented with how you described how they lay out their establishment with passionate accuracy. . . They must be an Americana Otaku; as well as Automobile Otaku as far as Cars & Planes go
Since you seem to like Japan exploring other country's cultures, if you're ever in Shikoku I am curious about what your thoughts would be on Huis Ten Bosch (ハウステンボス) : A theme park based on a Dutch palace, with a replica of De Liefde (Dutch ship recently repopularized by Nioh) and, at least for a while... A loooot of One Piece themed stuff
OK, that's easily one of your top five openings. Moreover, if I had the money I'd totally have booked a flight to go check it out just on that intro alone! Also, thanks for the well-wishing in the text. I am going through a bit of a hard time right now. Hopefully you're feeling better.
I would literally die of happiness if I was there. It reminded me of a Nathan's restaurant that had an video arcade that had some of the best titles. MVC2, Tekken 4, DOA 2, you name it. It was bliss.
pretty sure it already is, Bombergirl is popular enough in Japan (and even more relevant than current Bomberman) Konami is really pushing it hard especially during yearly KAC (think of it as esports for Konami's arcade games)
@@johanstenfelt1206 that one I have no idea, but considering they've released new girl as of this month I'm thinking it's popular enough to float on its own and it also has PC version which recently got into f2p as of last year, so it's probably also a lot more popular as people can easily get into the game without needing to go to arcade
Daikeien looks amazing! Now that's a place I'd go to. Oh, Chiko-chan. So that's what that show is called. I keep seeing it every so often when a hotel I go to has japanese channels for their tvs but I never learned the name of the show. Ah, Rainbow Bombergirl. I learned this existed last year (or maybe it was earlier this year?) when I watched a comprehensive list of bomberman games. Apparently, you can save your data on your phone or something like that. I really want to try this game out as both a bomberman fan and Senran Kagura fan.
if you're super curious, there's official PC port for Bombergirl that is free-to-play and it has cross progression with arcade version, so if you unlock something on arcade, you can use said thing to PC (and vice versa)
I think I now know one location I'll love to visit with my partner when we go to Japan together (eventually). All the nostalgia in the video really reminded me of where I used to live cuz the town was basically in the 50s until the late 90s. The aesthetic is just fantastic.
Gaijin, if I had the money and time, I would love to hang out with you in Japan and go see the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider museums, hotspots and toy shops. I am addicted to that stuff.
This one really reminded me of being a wee lass, listening to my older dork of a brother go on about American stuff. He was a big culture nerd, so.. guess it's genetic. He made me send him trendy or classic things from any place I got stuck on a tour when I was in the RAF, and the energy and vibe of this video is something I'd think he'd appreciate. Also booBomberman killed me, your wordplay never fails to amuse, sir.
0:13 I am having a day. Not good or bad, just a day. 1:34 Off-topic, but THANK YOU for showing how mahoosive torii gates are. I thought it was weird that the guide I use for Minecraft has them at 7m tall... but it's not weird, they're HUGE. 6:45 The random Israeli flags sent me laughing. They're just... there. For reasons. 8:55 Yea, I'm still waiting for "horny bomberman". 11:32 Okay, the first two had me interested, now I'm confused. 12:08 It's such a good game! It even has a real good story. If only we had an arcade like this here in America with Japanese arcade games and appreciation of Japanese culture and history. Unfortunately that has yet to come 😞
NGL, some of this scenery reminds me of West Edmonton Mall. At least back when they still had certain attractions like Pladium, and the fire-breathing dragon.
I think the sheer amount of Betty Boop is interesting. Usually, Fleischer Studios' poster girl doesn't get much attention compared to the Looney Tunes characters, Mickey and Friends or even Walter Lantz's Woody Woodpecker as far as theatrical cartoon characters go.
I read about Bombergirl on the wiki about a week ago. Apparently, there's a fallen angel character called Papuru (depicted in the video at 13:44) who has the Angel of Light and Shadow, FUCKING CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE from Bomberman 64 The Second Attack, as a cutesy bomb mascot. Oh, and Sirius from the first game gets a gijinka waifu named Platinum, so I guess that's cool.
Hmm, if you want to touch on more obscure stuff, might wanna have a word with Chris Broad? I know he's touring round North Japan at the moment, so he'd be hard to get to at the moment, but for unusual stuff, he's pretty knowledgable ^^

11:20 - _"Alright, no more stalling! Get to the waifu Bomberman!"_ And now, off I go to search for a way to emulate the Bombergirl game(s) at home so I can revel in their majesty first-hand.

There's the concept of "little britain" where british colonists would create a place just like home for themselves and guests. And the concept has become a rather giant stereotype for tourist traps catering to british tourists. Now I guess Japan has its own "little USA." But its kinda weird its started by a native owner instead of an American starting it up. It's like the Japanese cousin of Dave & Busters mixed with a sports bar fused with a barcade & a themed restaurant. Sounds like a place I would enjoy!
I didnt hear about the barcade stuff untill a glitch story.
The fact that arcades are still going really strong over in Japan makes me feel like we're seriously missing out.
