കേരള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആദ്യമായി "വന മിത്ര അവാര്‍ഡ്" ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയപ്പോള്‍, ആദ്യമായി തന്നെ അതേറ്റുവാങ്ങാന്‍ ഭാഗ്യം സിദ്ധിച്ചയാളാണ് ദയാല്‍ സര്‍. ഓര്‍ഗാനിക് ഫാമിങ്ങിന്റെ ആവശ്യകതയും അനന്തസാധ്യതകളും അരച്ചു കലക്കി പഠിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം 1992-ല്‍ പ്രശസ്തരായ പരിസ്ഥിതി ശാസ്ത്രഞ്ജന്‍ ജോണ്‍ സി ജേക്കബ് -ഉം പ്രകൃതി ചികിത്സകനായ ഡോക്ടര്‍ സി ആര്‍ ആര്‍ വര്‍മ യുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് "കേരള ജൈവ കര്‍ഷക സമിതി" എന്ന സംഘടന രൂപികരിച്ചു. വളരെ കുറച്ച് സമയത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ തന്നെ സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ അന്തര്‍ദേശിയമായി തന്നെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയായിരുന്നു:
1 . ജൈവ കൃഷിരീതി പ്രോല്‍സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക.
2 . വിളകളുടെ തദ്ദേശിയമായ വിതരണം
3 . കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്ക് ന്യായവില നല്‍കുക
കൂടാതെ സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനകളുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്കായി ജൈവ കൃഷി രീതി കോഴ്സുകള്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
The Kerala Organic Farmers Association (Kerala’s Jaiva Karshaka Samithi) has formed in 1992 by a group of environmentalists, with motto of ‘One Earth One Life’ with leadership from famous ecologist John C. Jacob, naturopathy doctor Dr. C.R.R.Varma and expert in Organic Farming K.V Dayal. It won Organic Medal of Honour by International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) Asia in South Korea. The team won this global recognition for their work in innovative organic farming methods. The main aim of the group is to create food production and distribution locally, giving a fair price to farmers and healthy food for the community through environment-friendly organic farming. Along with this, with the help of NGOs, the group runs organic farming courses for farmers.
