    This is one of the few kinds of bugs that I've never considered to be pests and I usually leave them be. Although if I get a package delivered outside my house and I don't get home until late at night, they're always dozens of them crawling all over the box. Great video btw! 👍

    You are so right about Utah. I've lived in Utah my whole life calling these guys potato bugs. It wasn't until my early 20's that someone called it a roly poly and rocked my world while also making me feel stupid because that's what they are "really" called 😂😂Thanks Mom and Dad.

      Nice! Ive heard that term too. We use that term here too but its referred to the larger group of bugs like this and not specifically the roly poly

    Yep, I'm right from that tiny little blue spot on that map (Cincy/Northern Kentucky) and we have always called them "pill bugs."

    i live in canada, the French province and ive always known these as potatoe bugs. but ill admit, when i spoke of these recently, i got weird looks after asking if they know what a potato bug is.

    how do you do it, youre so friendly with all the littke guys, and then youre like "okay, so here's how we decimate their entire population" ❤😂 good videos, i also called em roly polys up in western canada

      I notice it's not out of hatred for these bugs but to control their population when it goes out of hand and they become pests so that's how he treats them.

      Oh God one of the worst house pests 😱😱 I have them where I live and it's a bloody nightmare. I haven't seen any for a while but when they show up They get my full attention 😱😱.

      House centipedes are actually great to have around, they eat all the other insects around and they usually only come out at night

    I live in Ontario near New York and we've always called them potato bugs.

      Southern Ontario here as well, we called them potato bugs and I also heard pill bugs and sow bugs growing up

    I live in Ohio. I heard people here call them roly polys or potato bugs. I call them potato bugs. I had some get in my tub in my old house.

    Where I live we call the roly-poly but in the reptile community we call them isopods

    Im in Ny we callwd them pillbugs or potato bugs as a kid call them wood louse now.

    If you ever go to an exotic pet show there are a bunch of wild mutations and species of these in the pet trade! They are both peoples pets and used as feeders for other pets

    I'm from the Country/Mountains of North Jersey. We call them Potato Bugs and Rolly Polly too lol

    In Belgium in the Dutch language we call these: 'Gewone oprolpissebed' which if you literally translate this word by word would be something like: Regular (gewone) roll-up (oprol) peeing (pissen is a more vulgar way to say peeing) bed (just a bed in Dutch aswell). So a regular roll-up peeing bed. 😂
    (land)Pissebed is what we say to wood louse by the way, so following out logic it's just a roll-up wood louse.

    In germany we call them celler isopods (Kellerassel) and as a kid I really loved to just look at them
    Never considered them a pest tho

    Hate to tell ya, this Bostonian calls the Potatoe bugs or Rolly Pollys, and they have been around for a long time, im now in my 40s and we used to have races with them.

      You can, actually. They’re supposed to taste like dirty shrimp. However, they’re so small, it would take a lot to get a meal.

    I'm in Wisconsin and I have always called them millapedes, at least that's what my dad told me they were. He has passed but I never thought about it much. They are a bug, that's it.
