its so funny how pillbugs are actually sea creatures instead of bugs. They die if they lose their mosture just like a sea creature too. All it takes for them to dry up is to be above ground for too long (just like a sea isopod needing to stay under water lol)
Pill bugs are in pet stores that carry more diverse selections of animals. Maybe these just face some sort of invasive species restriction, or aren't allowed to be introduced to different regions for some other reason.

I accidently stepped on a Rollie pollie in my house about 20 minutes go and felt really bad. Had to look them up on CZcams, I've been fascinated by them since I was a toddler. Lol

You mean they are crustaceans and not insects. They are both arthropods though like spiders. Small land animals that is not warm blooded= bug.

What I find strange is that they do well in captivity and are easy to breed but they aren't sold as pets! Lots of people would love to have these
