  • IW Hockey reviews the True TF7 Ice Hockey Skate.
    Available at www.icewarehouse.com/True_TF7...
    The True TF7 Skates raise the bar for the performance-level category for 2020 and beyond. With a full one-piece fiberglass boot, the TF7 provides best-in-class fit, power and range of motion since it contours around the foot like nothing else.
    On top of the excellent fit, True used thick, internal dual-layer foams for immediate step-in comfort that feels like they've already been broken in. The topside of the foot is well protected by the traditional felt tongue. Meanwhile, the PFS (Personal Fit System) Footbeds come with changeable inserts that provide tailored support for low, medium and high arch types.

    INCREDIBLE. SKATES.
    They are intensively different from any other skate I have had in my life. They are built with attention to details. It is amazing. The heel is stucked in place no matter how tight you lace the skates. This allows to loosen the laces and gain mobility/agility for the ankles WHILE being very solid laterally (on edges).
    I have no words.
    I have flat feet and I have always struggled to find a skate that fits my long and flat feet, and now True built these.
    I have tried top-end CCMs and Reebok in my life, and now these affordable babies are by far the best skates I have ever laced. It is surely worth the try.

      Same here. With me the added struggle is that im about 1cm shorter on my right foot versus left. Had my first skate yesterday with the trues and I could after 4 years actually skate with moderate comfort not having to sit out time to time because of foot pain. Almost lost hope at one point that I guess I just have to play through the immense pain, since I was never going to drop 1k+ on a true custom. Its a God sent that true started making retail skates.

      I went from Bauer customs to TF9s. The TF9 are incredible, they have so much grip even on a 1” hollow, it’s like I’m on rails.

    I'm a happy owner of brand new TF7 in size 8 (43) EE. One word of advice for future buyers - get them measured up and tried on at a shop to decide if you need the EE version. I was measured to be a Fit2 by Bauer scanning tool, so regular D skates from Bauer "should" fit me, however True skates have a different length to width ratio to switch between R and EE fits. If you're buying on the internet, take note, as Bauer/CCM it is < 2.5, for True its is < 2.65.
    It was quite OK before thermomoulding, but after that I feel like I never want to take them off.

    Skated on my TF7s I ordered from you guys, for the first time last night. Coming from CCM U+ CL skates, which are pretty stiff. I gotta say, the TF7s feel like slippers on my feet, very supportive and comfortable. They had a ton of flexion while maintaining lateral support. I'm 250 lbs without gear, so I put a lot of load onto my skates. The next few skates will see how they hold up. I'm concerned they won't be as supportive as I need, and u may need to switch up to the TF9s.

    Hey Chase! Wondering how these fit in relation to a Vapor, Nexus and a Supreme. I have a wide foot and tried toughing out the soreness in my Vapor x500s D, so I'm looking for a high volume boot that'll last a while. Thanks!

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Matthew! So that Vapor D is about as narrow and shallow as they come, these in R-width (aka D-width) will absolutely offer more width and depth than your Vapors, and the W-width (aka EE-width) will be another step deeper and wider!

    After 4 years of constant foot pains I bought these skates and had my first skate yesterday and for the first time ever didnt have to take a break during an hour session on the ice due to pain. At my worst, had to sit out after 5 minutes of skating. Ive tested all 3 models from ccm and bauer and everything at the 400€ price range from pretty much size 7.5-8 d and ee and no luck.

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před rokem

      This is great news! All of us hockey players know exactly how that feels and it's the worst experience when you have to sit on the bench and deal with that pain. Now you've found a skate that works with your feet and it's a darn good skate at that! Hopefully your experience can help others find relief too!

      @@ice.warehouse yes sir. A few years back when I found out about the True custom skate I kinda jokingly said to my wife that I bet the True customs would be the only skates that fit me. And I was kinda right 😅 its been about 3 years since I shopped for skates and gotta say the tec has gotten insane. Back then a one piece boot was just brand new in the top jetspeed, now you get one piece construction even in the catalyst 5. True really stepped up the skate game with their stock skates.

    Hi Chase, I have been skating with Graf supra 705 for the last few years. Last november I bought TF 7 skates which I like for comfort. My question: How do I find the sweetspot when lacing them to have ankle movement &agility without loosing good lateral support? ( I do not use the first upper hole)
    Thanks, Marc 😉🏒

    are tf9s really worth the additional $300 in your opinion? What value does stiffness offer anyways?

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před 2 lety +1

      Add stiffness offers an increase in performance and support for stride power, turns, and stopping. Plus it increases the lifespan of your skate too. It's worth it if you're on the ice 5+ times a week or want a skate that's going to last you a long time.

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Matze, those are both great choices and pretty comparable. If you wanted to try something new, True Hockey has a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so you can try them out and if you don't like them you can get your money back within 30 days. You'd want to go with a size R as they do run wider than standard skates. For the Supreme's, you would want to go with Fit 2!

      @@ice.warehouse I am stuck in the same boat choosing between the bauer 3s and true tf7. It seems like the tf7 has more "elite" level features (full one-piece boot). Are the tf7s much stiffer and more supportive compared to the 3s as a result of this? Which would you say is the more "serious" skate?

  • @laronda10
    @laronda10 Před 3 lety

    yo why are the tf7 and the tf9 listed at the same weight? also is there a difference in the stiffness with the tf7 using fiberglass. i ask cause if they're similar weight and the tf7 is softer i might actually like it better

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před 3 lety +2

      I don't think they are, I see 945 grams (TF9) and 949 grams (TF7). There is a noticeable difference in stiffness though, the TF7 is pretty standard but the TF9 is definitely stiff.
