  • Chase with IW Hockey is joined by the legendary Scott Van Horne from True Hockey, who brings us inside the skate factory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Scott gives us an incredible insight into how the True Hzrdus Ice Hockey Skate is brought to life and how it is one of the best-fitting skates you'll ever have!

      Thanks! We "truly" enjoyed walking through the factory and getting to see the hands on production and the detailed work that True gives their skates. We will def try to get more behind the scenes insight videos in the future! Thanks for watching and hope you're doing well!

    Im shopping for custom skates, because of my problem with ankle bones. I was about to go with CCM Custom+ but after seeing this vid, how skates are made, im going with SVH.

    For people with high arches, does SVH take this into account or does it all come down to finding the 'right' insole?

    • @ice.warehouse
      @ice.warehouse  Před 4 měsíci

      You're correct that for high arches, you'll want to have an insole to offer arch support. I'd recommend the True Genetix footbed with High arch support, and be sure to have that insole in the skate when you bake.

    Why make them in china when you can bring china to make them over here.... this reminds me of the Sony paraody commercial "sony cause americans are just too damn tall"... real talk though why are all the people working on the skates almost 90% asian?

    • @frankwesthoefer8062
      @frankwesthoefer8062 Před 5 měsíci

      Bringing China to Winnipeg makes perfekt sense, once the value chain stays 100% with True in Canada, secondly you can do without shipping ice skates across the pacific from China to Canada.

      Probably because there’s a big ethnic Chinese community willing to work hard. I recall a UK electronic company employing lots of British Indian woman, hard working and dextrous.

      Meh. If you’ve ever worn them you’d understand the hype. Most comfortable skates ever. And who cares how gear looks if it fits/works? Style points are only real in your head - don’t help score you goals

    • @Hartwell10
      @Hartwell10 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@mattm1296 sure they are comfy. But that doesn’t set them apart from anyone. the OG Hyperlite was also a very comfy skate and much lighter than the new model. So are the Jetspeed FT4 and FT6. True customs are also the most comfy fit you can get. Hyperlite 2s are just hype. Nothing new on them but the power fly holders. Which no pros are switching too. It’s just another Bauer gimmick like the carbon lite blades, or the Bauer sling. Bauer is also the only high end skate left that isn’t a one piece boot design. I’ve been a Bauer guy all my life. But they aren’t ahead of everyone else in the industry anymore, like they were for a long time.
