This song came to me a few weeks ago. My mom just passed away a couple days ago. I listen to this song. It brings me peace. It is helping me heal.
👌👌🎈❤️
Peace to you, Brother! Strength, when needed!

First, I’m sorry for your loss. Don’t know you but I’ll pray for you tonight. Next, it’s SO good to know that someone else uses music for peace and healing. It truly brings both. This song has been so special to me since 2009 and a drive across the desert from Phoenix to the central California coast. Through all my trials and tribulations since then, this song has been a constant source of peace for me.
Condolences for your loss. May her memory be a blessing-and this song provide comfort
This song and video made me want to see a concert at Red Rock so my boyfriend said "lets go"
We saw Steve Miller Aug 2022
Its a magical place ❤
I loved it
I wanna go see a Show there... so Cool 😎
And Amos would be Perfect 👌
🌎 ✌ 💙 💚 🇺🇸
I was at this concert, I was playing this today on a beautiful Colorado fall afternoon, and I will never get tired of it. Absolutely magical evening at Red Rocks.
My brother in law passed away this morning. We were very close over a 13 year friendship. He was only 62. And this came up. Bawling my eyes out. But thank you. Just what I need. All love and thanks from Ireland. 🇮🇪❤️
♥️❤️🔥❣️
Ar deis De go raibh a ainm dilis! Le Gra as Colorado!
I got blindsided by my job today, I asked for a sign and this song came on “it’s time for me to go”. Thank you universe. The next step is scary but I think I’m ready..”I’m fixing to fly”
You got this!!! Yes, it's scary but be positive...change is good for the mind and soul. Been there, done that. Your success is just around the corner!! Take care and keep moving forward.
This song......my husband passed from cancer and I'm left here to raise our baby girl. I miss him and this song just goes there. I cry everytime I hear it and I come here often
♥️❤️🔥❣️
Sometimes life sucks, but then he gave you a child cause life is beautiful!
I love that crescendo. Listening to it I feel like a bird climbing high is the sky. Then that guitar kicks in and my wings open and I coast basking in the warm sun. I am free.
Perfect description.
The most underrated performer out there today.
I agree
Agree love him ❤
No joke! He’s amazing ❤
THIS is my song and this is the version I want played at the end of my memorial service when I take the last highway home with windows Rolled down.
yup
@@anhela2 Same, great f'n song!!!
May I use it also?
I told my kids I want to have this playing on my last ride with the windows rolled down too
Smoke trailing? Me two.
I'm going to be seventy years old on my next birthday. This song is the amtidote to lifes hardships.❤

Mr Drummerman is a rare beauty. Just georgeous playing.
You get the sense he is just as blown away as the audience by the moment.
the arrangement is absolutely breathtaking! as a musician myself, this are the moments you feel most alive.
I was at this concert during a particularly shitty part of my life and it made me think there's something else. Don't quit, fight on and be better and kind. Thanks Amos and company!!! Beautiful and strong!
I needed this. Thank you.
I’m glad you stuck around. Your experience can be an example for people who you may never even meet. Good work passing it along, too!! Thank you!!
Never give up. There's always something to hang on to. Music is therapy.
Honored to! Be well and kind!@@bonnieabbzug
What you are witnessing here with the chord progressions at 3:42 and 4:57 is the band lifting the collective soul of the audience up the proverbial mountain to the Higher Ground envisioned by Stevie Wonder many years ago.
Best comment here!
Not a chance. Stevie stinks. This is sweet.
@@wilmafudd7066 "Stevie stinks" What are you, eight years old?
@@r-techzgaming3914 yes . With all my experience. I can tell you for sure. Stevie stinks! He could not lift a bag of cotton candy with his B's

So blessed to have been at this show. It was the first concert I ever attended at Red Rocks when I moved to Colorado. Many since, but this show will always be special to me.
My Father passed over today. Cheers to John, may he feel the wind in his hair with the windows rolled down. He was a cool dude. RIP. Thank you, Amos. Love all around in this crazy world we are living in!
Ok lets please do this concert again here at red rock in 2023-2024 and I'll be front center !!! please please please !!!
I’ve watched this countless times… still speechless. Pure magic happened at Red rocks that night… simply amazing 🌟💚
Grew up climbing those rocks, it's a sweet neighbor now 💯 Colorado girls Rock!

I should have called in sick one of my biggest regrets in life was missing this show
On my bucket list, see a amazing band performance at Red Rocks. I see the most spectacular concert theatre in the world. Please just once.
I can't stop watching this... it was truly one of the best moments of my life and I was honored to be there. Amos is the real thing!!
My mom recently shared this with me, I have literally listened to it 8 times today. Just WOW.
Phat
I just recently drove 3000 miles across the country and there was no better feeling than wind blowing through my hair while having this song going through the speakers
Yes!!
Ian Curran I wan ago.
Sounds amazing! I’m close to doing the same thing myself soon
@@AaronBlaiseArt q
Ian Curran love road trips!
Is it just me, or do others "jones" for this specific live version of Amos Lee's "Windows are rolled down" at least once a week???-- the symbiotic relationship between Amos, his band and the Colorodo symphony is so superb that it provides me with an emotional high every single time I hear it. God bless all!!!
It's so triumphant yet so sad at the same time. Great way to feel some instant emotions for sure. Still so mad I wasn't there to see this live. Forever thankful for this video tho
@@joshlewis575 Well said. 😎
Definitely not just you. I revisit this often and love reading the comments old and new. It feels like being with a group of really good friends sharing this amazing experience. Wish I had been able to go to this concert…I live on the front side of Green Mountain (shown at the beginning to the left as the camera aims at the stage) and am so grateful having this venue and park in my backyard ~ xx
Just once a week? How about daily?
yep, I've logged at least 30 views with more to come.
Love this. I remember when in the rain I could roll down my car windows and listen to great music just like this! Now no gutters on car windows. Bummer
Whoever was mixing the audio is a master at his or her craft. Just amazing.
Indubitably.
Agreed
Indubitablely!!!😎

3-31-2020 coronavirus pandemic lockdown playlist ~ Thank you Amos ~~~
Smiles, hello Diane 🌺 😊
Look up child, the world is born
Shoe's untied, and your soles are worn
Windows are rolled down
Sun is setting high
Windows are rolled down
I'm fixin' to die
Corn rows have companion feel
This rocky road and this steering wheel
Who do you call to ease your pain?
I hope for you to get through this rain
Windows are rolled down
Moon is hanging low
Windows are rolled down
Think it's time for me to go, hey-ay-ay-aaah-ay
Is it what you dreamed it'd be?
Are you locked up in this fantasy?
Oh, these miles that have torn us apart
My new found faith and my broken heart
Windows are rolled down
Sun is rising high
Windows are rolled down
Feel that wind rushing by, hey-ay-ay-aaah
Windows are rolled down
Beautiful day out here in NorCal. All windows are open. This is the reason that I live out here. No AC. This time of year always the best. Breezy days.
Gorgeous day up here in Northern California. The reason why I stay. #SOLANOCOUNTY
No better place in the world to see a show. Colorado pride!
OMG! Where has this been??? I had this saved somehow, and then played it to see what it was, and I am just KNOCKED OUT! WOW!!
Smiles, hi there 🌺 😊
This song is so beautiful. Missing my Dad. We both loved music. Got us through to the end.
Same ❤
Sorry for your loss.
My dad's favorite!!! He taught me so much about music!!! Love this, Amos!😍
same :(
And he opened with that massive song. So lucky to have been there that night. What a show. This song has deepness.
Must be blessed
I go back to this over and over, just so good.
This is epic synergy, so much going on at the same time.
Same here, if a soul had a song, this would descibes mine. Never tire of it
Me too
I could listen to this every single night, for the rest of my life. I stumbled across this while recovering from COVID ICU… it’s brilliant!
There's something about it, isn't there? Feel it all the way to my marrow! 🥰 Happy u'r out of the hospital! Hoping u'r all the way back and better ✌🧡
They don’t get any better than Amos Lee he is absolutely incredible talented humble man with so much passion and soul. I know he touches deep into my soul 🕊
What a song
1st time I heard Amos Lee was Boise river Eagle Idaho in 2011 about 200 people showed up. 2nd time was SLC 2016
Just think, pretty soon we'll be able to get back to going to shows like this.. Even better all the shows coming through every bar and venue across our great land ..Fk the Covid days.
Agreed. Well and timely comment!!!😎
@Aydin Soren Why would you do that??? Does no one respect one's privacy anymore??? God help us all!!!
And for the record, no, I not only don't care, I find your publishing the "how to" and seeming delight in so doing utterly repugnant!! Go back to your dark hole.🧐😎😇.
That intro is magic ! Wow !
I lost my dad to Covid April 8th 2020. This song.. reminds me..of us..from the first time we laid in the grass on our backs and he said always look up..see the blue skies..see the Stars. To the days we rode around in his car for his job with the windows rolled down, eating Fiddle Faddle. My dad was always there for us, because his real father abandoned him and his siblings. We could not be there for my father when he died (he had dementia also) because of Covid restrictions. Breakes my heart to a million pieces. So thankful for the nurses and medical staff that were there for him. Windows are rolled down dad...I will see you again.💕
Such a sweet story, sorry about your dad.
ohngah Did this Amos get me through the darkest time of my funchin life Forever I thank you Sir
Smiles, hi Felicia 🌺 😊
Nothing beats seeing him live. Awesome performer.
You are so right. Had not even heard of him until my niece took me to his concert last night in Indianapolis. He's an absolute super star if you ask me! I found him and this as well to be very moving.
I just coming back to this video, over and over again. So much layered, textured, inner voicing, dynamics are perfect, build, drop off, build, drop off, build, build, build, then drop off and bring it all home, perfection.
Cannot say enough positive about the rhythm section, with soooo many people involved, the conductor pretty much has to follow the initial percussionist, as he is who the core band is focused on. He did his job, laid down the tempo, and everyone else locked in, and made it work.
Interesting, THANKYOU FOR SUCH A PRECIOUS GIFT CALLED KNOWLEDGE.
Agree fully!!! Being at that concert and Subsequent red rocks gigs will be the highlights of my music experience!
Hearing this song played hear, now that's heavenly.

Saw Sam Smith there a few years ago. Amazing and you must do it when COVID is over!
Hoping he does this again cause being here would've been amazing
Stumbled across this on accident, and I've never heard of this guy. I couldn't shut it off!
It just doesn't get much better than this, the best of the best.

I watched Amos perform with the Utah Symphony in Park City. He's truly a genius. The experience was surreal. Watched Ben Harper there as well...another incredible performance! 🎶✌🤟🏼🎶
Never heard this song before and now I am spoiled !!
I was at this show. Absolutely amazing, one of the best I've seen at Red Rocks.
lucky you...the orchestra and wind...beautiful with AMOS
Green KMH Man I beat that was absolutely amazing to be at.
never seen a bad red ricks show tho either ''''''''
Still trying to get to a Red Rocks show preferably Widespread Panic. I know it's a magical venue if not the best. The live music experience has many factors and venue is such an integral factor on the whole experience. I have a bit of an obsession with experiencing live music.
Words can’t accurately describe how jealous I am of anyone at this gig!
Sublime!!!
4:56 Money shot, with those feels man. This is the concert he deserved.

Ya not everyone gets to play there
Love Amos Lee so much and his amazing band... I keep forgetting to Like...... Like, Everybody Like!!!
Damn I love Red Rocks! And Amos. Watched SO many "live from red rocks" on PBS it was almost surreal being there in person. Was on 4th of July 3 years ago and you could see fireworks in 3 separate towns in the distance behind the stage. Magical.
First met Amos at a local Philly dive bar on open mic night. Hes come a long way since then.
Philly, no one likes us. We don't care. But, hey. We've got Amos and you don't!!!
In this crazy world there is only one truth tot me.......music.
Part of my daily morning soundtrak...just makes me feel good. Kind of like Tom Pettys' " Free Falling".
LOVE Amos Lee and his great band...oh and the Colorado Symphony isn't bad either. ;-)

I would love to be lost in this crowd about now.
I have never heard of Amos Lee until now. Thank you CZcams for recommending this video. I am a fan now and I love this song.
I remember driving in my car with the windows rolled down singing at the top of my voice on a highway in summer. You really did feel like you were flying!
I have made a list of the most important songs to me to be played after I pass. I want people to really know me after I've passed on.
Absolutely magical. WOW should be (if not already) an acronym for "without words". This video is wonderful. It allows me to travel back to that night while I stood in awe from the 6th row watching, listening, taking it all in. Thanks for posting. What an amazing way to travel back to such a perfect night under the stars. Made my soul want to explode out of my body just now. Emotionally overwhelming.
Padee Bailey Yes, I agree! We were fortunate enough to see Amos twice last year, this show being one of them. It was incredibly moving. Just watching this playback brought on tears. He is truly one of a kind. Looking forward to seeing him at Red Rocks again in July!!
Padee Bailey We were there, too! What an incredible experience. Can't wait to get the album.
plain old wow will suffice
This song and a couple more from him is what I play EVERY morning when I get to work
😊
this version is awesome with that awesome background behind Amos.
Wow. Sounds so damn soulful it brings tears to your eyes man. That's what I'm talking about.
Goosebumps never ending ...
Why is the sound so good? It doesn't seem outdoor.... sounds more like a pre-recording. But this is Amos Lee so my ears believe it! I've been needing a reason to go to Colorado. For real.
You know what else I love about him, his concerts are affordable!! I will make it to one asap! Way to go Amos, you rock my world!!!
Throw in a symphony as your backup. What could go wrong? Yeah, it's expensive but so worth it...
Annie Clements on bass was a special treat to notice. Had no idea she played for Amos Lee for 4 years, until I saw this video and think I saw her with Amos Lee at Bourbon and Beyond Festival. I've seen her twice this year with Maren Morris, which is where I got into her playing. She is a BEAST on the bass, and has outstanding background and harmony vocals. She described this show at Red Rocks as "the best musical experience of all time" and I have to say after having just watched the video...the girl ain't wrong!
The way he lays it all out at 3:30, blows me away!
Smiles, hi Brittany 🌺 😊
Mine is a life lived vicariously through music
I have no idea why but this song and performance moves me to tears. The power of music is....I have no words. Thank you Amos Lee.
Thank you for sharing this! The symphony music is astounding!

This song came up on a Spotify recommended playlist. I was instantly captured by the melody, but unsure of the lyrics. I had to look them up. Beautiful. I was moved, even though I wasn't sure of the meaning. Then I had to look up the chords. There are only two: G & C, but with 'hammer-on' variations on each. Then I find this performance at Red Rocks with a symphony orchestra. A symphony with a 2 chord song? It is magical. This song deserves a symphony!
I am driving down a highway, heading some place I have never been before. I am leaving a place filled with joy and sorrow. It is bitter and sweet. Life moves ever closer to its end, but for now, the wind is warm and it buffets my soul into a subtle excitement for what lies ahead. Windows are rolled down.
Love this...can't wait. Amos, one of the most underrated artists

The summer before my youngest son went off to college and made me an empty Nester, I listened to this song over and over. Balled my eyes out each time. Now seven years later, it just brings me bittersweet joy. Amos Lee -he’s a maestro!
