They are still there. Parents rarely cross over when kid's are left behind. Besides that there's no heaven to be conceived by the human brain. There's only the middle, and I can't wait to experience it. And this is a perfect song to remember people by. My mom always drove with the Windows down.And it bothered me in the winter but we lived in Georgia and it wasn't cold to get. But I live in nyc now,and it's too cold so I'm just happy we didn't grow up here.

In faith in Christ Jesus when one dies they go directly to heaven to be with the Lord! There's no such thing as a human spirit lingering! You will live forever but you must choose today where that is going to be! I am very sorry for your loss my friend! But so many people don't know the truth about what happens when you die? Most are just worldly concepts of condolences? Meanwhile people are perishing because of not knowing the Gospel! They feign true faith and have no knowledge of Christ? Sorry to carry on but It's important to point out that Jesus is the only way! Hug's to you and know that you are loved by God as well!

Im sure the song wasnt intend as such, but just yesterday we put our 14 year old pug to rest. He was in pain, we knew he was in pain. He did what he could to hold on but we knew it was time. Last ride we took with him he stuck his head out of the window like he usually does and had the wind blow over him, eyes closed and tongue out, just enjoying it. This song will be forever tied to that moment, and thank you for it

Mike MacLean ❤ Last month, I adopted a 9 yr old, beautiful silver cat from a shelter, as a buddy for my cat. They were petrified of each other, despite my gradual Jackson Galaxy intro method, but it just didn't work out. I brought him back yesterday, after they assured me they're a no- kill shelter. I'd become very attached to him!! He was SO sweet & affectionate. Pets are like our children, so I can see why you'd think of your Pug when you hear this song. It's a great song, that can apply to many scenarios.
I love this interpretation. I think it fits perfectly. Because windows rolled down is just about bringing it back to that simplicity of life (within all the pain) and that’s how our furry friends live🥺 RIP little buddy.

I first heard this song in Houston, my high school robotics team and I were there for nationals. My teacher was driving the car down the highway after a long day, us kids packed into the back staring out the open windows and chatting, and this song was playing as the breeze blew through the car. It always makes me smile.

I just got recommended this song by someone. I feel a deep connection to this song. Mostly because, to me, it means letting go of the past, whether it’s a family member or friend who passed, letting go of your old life, or letting go of a feeling (if that makes any sense.) Truly an inspiring song.

Yeah I don't get the thumbs down either. This guy has a voice that plucks the heartstrings & his songs tell a story. There seems so much to love & so little to dislike - as you say why bother to register disapproval... Not everyone has good taste sure but why advertise the fact ? Could any of these negative voters sing their way out of a wet paper bag - play an instrument - or write a song that can touch the spirit? Amos is a rare jewel & should be appreciated by those who can respond to him - the rest should simply move on to something more up their alley...
To me the song sounded like he was planning suicide ... maybe that's why some react badly to the lyrics. It would be a great 'funeral' song though
I lived this song when I drove my dad from Jersey to his brother at his birth home in Newark, Ohio. We visited the graveyard of his family. He was at the time, slowly dieing from cancer. Yes, it was just that sad and it still is.

I discovered this song only recently when it came on Pandora. What a fantastic and beautifully sung song. I have listened to it many times since. Suggested it to my daughter and she also loves it. Makes you wonder how many people have missed out on this gem.
I've seen Amos Lee live 3 times. He does this song wonderfully, he opened with it each time. I listen to all types of music and I don't usually do the youtube comments. But 67 people listened and gave it a thumbs down? I don't get it. Just because I don't see it as the type of song to rub someone the wrong way. I don't bother to put a thumbs down on music I don't care for, I just move on to the other 3 billion choices, why bother? Ok, that's all love Amos Lee, great dude. : )

Amos Lee is phenomenal
There is zero justification for the thumbs down on this song; on this artist. He's solid all around. Voice is insane, writing is incredible. Oh well, there are just people out there who have to be negative. Let them be, we'll be happy and jamming to great music while they wallow in self-despair. This has to be the best song while out on a country road cruising with the top down.

I love this song it reminds me of the first time I realized how much I need Jesus Christ in my life. First I found a new faith then I got baptized and was filled with the holy spirt. It was like the wind passing through me blowing off all the dust from them old gravel roads I had been down. No it wasn’t religion I found it was much more than that. I understand why someone could be atheist in this day and time. But I don’t understand how the can be truly happy not knowing the truth?
Charles, I was raised a devout Catholic. As I entered my teen aged years I thought I had it all figured out and didn't need God in my life. Guess what? A series spectacular failures followed. I had dust myself off quite a bit, learn some humility, and realize that the answers just won't fall in my lap.
No matter what faith or morals you follow, just know you can always better yourself.
