Same thing happened to me with my son, when he was 3.... Was driving on the freeway and he opened up the door, luckily it got stuck a little on the opening lock; but the door was open. His older sister (by a year and a half, Mommy number 2) yelled at him and unbuckled her seat belt to close the door, it all just happened so fast. I started screaming "No! No! No!! Get your seat belt on, while trying to still look at the road while looking at the back seat area. I tried to get to the emergency pullover area as fast as I could, I had an emotional and mental breakdown. I was so scared, as soon as I pulled over I grabbed them and balled my eyes out; then I explained to them what could have happened to them. My daughter understood more than my son, because my son thought he was invincible like Spiderman. Convincing him that he wasn't Spiderman is a whole other story, but yeah.. My kids are grown now.
