Special thanks to Ethan Song for providing the lyrics:

The song is actually from Army of the Pharoah's Battlecry. But when I did some digging, it turned out that they sampled their orchestra bits from ELO's tightrope.

@@danishsyed1068 Sever the emperor!? You heretic!!! Blam!!!
1- Beautiful and poetic.
2- Grammar was made by the Emperor.
The Minotaur line is great. For those who don’t know the story: after the virus bombing failed to kill most of the loyalists, a months-long campaign was enacted by Horus to hunt down the loyalists.
At some point, a heavy gunship of the Sons of Horus was returning to Horus’s flagship, the Vengeful Spirit. It had all of the proper identifying codes and was allowed to enter the hangar for rearming.
When the Minotaur entered the hangar, the pilot delivered a spiteful message over the vox to the traitors, and proceeded to unleash a hellish barrage of missiles and bullets in the hangar. This attack killed an entire Sons of Horus company (~1,000 marines) and destroyed several gunships.
The Minotaur was a suicide attack made by the loyalists against the traitors. The brave, anonymous pilot bought valuable time for the loyalists on the surface, creating confusion in an already very confused situation. This also forced the traitors to change all of their identifying codes and such, since the Minotaur attack revealed that their info is compromised.
This sounds amazing, Google doesn't help me any further, was this in one of the books? Which one?
@@VanVeghel Galaxy in Flames is the book where you get the perspective of Horus, Garviel, Saul Tarvitz, and others as the Isstvaan lll atrocity happens. It's AMAZINGLY well-written. This is where the famous quote by Horus originates: "Align the guns... let the galaxy burn!"
Also, on the Minotaur ship: when they flew into Horus's dock, he transmitted a brief signal, saying "I am here to avenge the blood of old Terra!" He opened fire with the heavy guns, blasting an entire company of Sons of Horus that were all grouped up, preparing to board a ship and fly down to hunt down the survivors.
The Isstvaan lll atrocity is so fascinating. So many characters, so much drama going on. Galaxy in Flames gives you the "on the ground" perspective. For reference, Horus's initial betrayal with the virus bombs FAILED. He only wiped out about 1/3 of the loyalists. As the flames of the exterminatus began to die out, vox channels came to life. There was a lot of confusion, but there was also a lot of swearing and challenging and accusation, inviting the cowardly traitors to come face them.
Knowing the full context of this event makes this song that much cooler. It seems to be Garviel Loken who is speaking in this song.
@@RedSky-vf8bf Thanks for the info! I read Galaxy in Flames once, long ago, but I forgot about the Minotaur. Sounds amazing. Time for a re-read!!
I remember reading about this on a wiki but not in the book, just like with the joke about the bear. Is there something i missed in Galaxy in flames or is that in another book?
The wiki pages I’ve seen typically summarize and often pull entire paragraphs from the books. The wiki page for the Atrocity basically reads like the last 1/3 of Galaxy in Flames.

@midgetydeath They definitely feared them. Not just what they could do but what they stood for. How long could they keep sending down their forces to fight their former brothers without some of their own forces starting to question if this was right? Me after listening to this for 1st time: *LOYALTY INCREASES TO 100%*
Me after listening to this for 100th time: *I don't know where I am, all I know is that I must kill for the glory of Emperor*
This song gave me the headcanon that the Minotaurs chapter's geneseed was sourced from loyalist Luna Wolves.
The blood of my brothers has been swallowed by the grounds.
Unbelievable, insatible thirst.
The lines break tide swells and rushes forth;
My arms shake
I am swallowed by the storm's surge.
But I will turn from this,
We will emerge from this,
Ignore the creeping dread that
slithers up our spines from this.
Let out the final dirge;
HEAR ME!
I command the standard,
so we will stand and face the chaos scourge!
I count the days as they come;
Turned to a month now
Still we persevere as we raise
The body count
Beside the pangs of pain,
Know that I know your face,
You'll know mine,
When every death is repaid.
Burning bastions,
Sanctioned by your chaplains;
Line up every sight,
While I align the battlements
Ten-thousand lights, Burnt out in a blink
We the stalwart stand prepared to hold
Before this brink of the precipice
While eye-to-eye with disaster;
Decry the funeral song
One reason left to hold on;
SHOW ME THE WARMASTER!
And those I thought were my brothers
Have turned their backs on the fold
The headman's axe, I now hold
We hid ourselves in the dark;
Foundations shook,
Stepped out of the sunlight to reemerge;
LUNA WOLVES
Now We wait on our haunches;
Coiled,
Soon I will find my vengeance
Against the despoiled!
I can't forget the sight of air
Becoming poison;
Suffering immaterial,
That fate; unavoidable.
Knife meets back,
As brothers meets bloodshed;
Return to give the double-tap
Into the serpent's head
Back-stabber turncoats;
Chain-of-command failures
Minotaur lowers horns and as it
Dives through your defenses
The tide turns again, and not in our favor
My forces face their deaths,
But not once do they waver
And as the palace is breached
I'll take what I can reach
Aim for Abaddon's throat
Your life is beyond reproach
By the despicable's hands
Our hope is scattered like sand
And every outcome I wanted
Sits above me,
I'm haunted!
You should've cut deeper still;
Buried my grave to fill
Soon I will have all your heads;
You should've checked I was dead!
And I can still see their faces
That trusting look, led astray
Only blood can amend this.

Eternal glory to Gavriel Loken and all the loyalists of Istvaan III.
I actually normally don't like rap-style songs but I enjoyed this
Every single time I hear the Luna wolves line, I think about that third of Horus’s soul that was removed to allow him to become the champion of chaos. The part of his soul that made him good.
And then I think: “What if it came back? What if the Lupercal returned? Not as the Champion, not as the Warmaster, but as the father of the Luna Wolves?
And then I picture the scene. Abbadon facing marines that desperately hold the line, guardsmen valiantly dying to the fire, titans of the emperor in melee with daemons warmachines...
And then in the blind spot of the Despoiler, he sits. His haunches coiled. Ten thousand years of shame and horror brought by his own weakness.
Abbadon’s hand is stayed by the weapon that slew the Emperor. The Favored Son has returned, and breaks the despoiler over his gleaming white knee.
Trust may never return in full. Friendship an impossibility. But between the guidance of the Lord of Ultramar and the sheer vengeance of the Lupercal...that day marks the beginning of the end for the enemies of man...and perhaps the chance of their Father’s Dream to be achieved.
I would weep in joy to see the Luna Wolves rise once more. The Sons of Horus where the ones that fell, the Luna Wolves were always steadfast and loyal.

What we need now is too know whether loken led the loyal luna wolves against the traitor
Recently, a discord server I'm on had a new addition who was a friend of the person who 'owns' (or at least had the owner role) the server. Immediately he began antagonizing everyone and causing problems, and rather than acknowledge this she defends him and threatens everyone else with her privileges. Even going so far as to say she'll delete the entire server, which is primarily everyone else's work.
So, we've made our own server, and began copying over ALL of the information. Several years worth of lore, conversations, everything. From every server this pair is in.
The final thing I post before I leave will be this very song.
Did you do it what was the reaction
