  • In this video I wanted to share some hints and tips to make the process as painless as possible for my viewers who are interested in booking a C1 or C driving test to enable you to drive vans and trucks over 7.5 tonnes.
If you're not planning to drive an HGV professionally you do not need to take the CPC part of the test also known as module 3.
Hopefully this video will save you time, money and stress when looking to take your C1 or C driving test, if you have any comments or questions please put them in the comments below and I will get back to you.
I took my class 2 driving lessons with GS DRIVER TRAINING based in Dunsfold Aerodrome, the instructors were extremely friendly and helpful.

A most informative presentation and introduction and explanation of the route to HGV license/driving, confirming the options for non-commercial or leisure only licence options.

Thanks for the comment, I'm happy you found it informative :-)

My advice is, if you are going to want to drive a 7.5 t you might as well skip that and do the class C ...its the same test more or less and you get a better licence out of it. And more or less the class C vehicle isn't much more bigger than a 7.5t.

@N0rbert No , not really, same test but might as well get the better category on your licence in my opinion

    •  Před rokem +1

      @N0rbert yes Cat C becomes a C1 as well

what did u need the c1 for out of interest

    •  Před rokem

@zCharged heard handsome salary they give but if u got ur own truck you can make more, well that’s I heard lol, don’t know the reality yet )

    •  Před rokem

@Farhad Khan i see. im finding they can be around £1.5 k or less depending on how much instruction needed to pass test

    •  Před rokem

So happy to hear that Farhad, without a doubt the companies rip people off generally because they can offer finance which means people pay a lot of interest

      For 3.7k C1 I do C then you get C1 free with C licence

I failed my last Thursday and can’t stop thinking about it. I was at a tight roundabout and there was a overgrown bush blinding my view. I went ahead and a silver car came flying round. Making me fail, I was very nervous and my
Examiner wasn’t very friendly knowing I was anxious. She didn’t make me feel at ease and kept staring in her mirror silently. It’s massively knocked my confidence

    •  Před rokem

I’m sorry to hear that, unfortunately it feels like their job is often to make you feel as nervous as possible, I understand how hard it is having failed the first time too, it’s also a large financial cost to re sit the driving exam. Make sure you book it again soon, I hope next time you have a better experience 🙏

Hi, i need your suggestions. I am going to start preparation for HGV. Kindly instruct me which category of license is best as a job view? If i get HGV D1 then can i drive C1 allowed vehicles? And one thing is more which training provider is best for driving lessons.

Hi when you have your Hgv Practical test do you have to read a number plate before the test starts or is it straight onto the tell me show me questions? I saw this on Google This only applies to cars and motorbikes. Vocational tests rely on the medical report, so NO eyesight test is involved at the time of the driving test for trucks and buses. NVDIR APPROVED TRAINING CENTRE. FIRST ACCREDITED BY DVSA 2008. Is this correct?? Please help me

    •  Před 5 měsíci +1

Hey there, I wasn’t asked to read a number plate on my HGV test.

  •  Před 11 měsíci

are HGV/LGV automatic in uk thanks mate ?

    •  Před 11 měsíci

Hi Jack, nearly all modern ones tend to be auto, some are still manual but very rarely. If you pass your HGV test in an auto you’re still allowed to drive manual as long as you passed your car test in a manual vehicle.
