Best channel around
Thank you so much, that means a lot :)
Those work!.. I've had serious injuries left me in pain twenty years.. these almost completely erase it..
Good to know. I am looking for ways to reduce pain as I age.
@@ChittarupaYoga my pain reduced so much.. core feels strong and durable now..
@@daveriddlelin9327 awesome. I will keep watching these guys.
Great to hear it!!

Yes! Thank you for watching!
These videos always are helpful!
Glad to hear it! Happy to help!
Most elderly people have problems getting up off the floor. As a child you spend a lot of time on the floor, adults do not.
Doing yoga / stretching exercises on the floor can improve balance, mobility, flexibility and the ability to get up and down..
Just getting up and down to the floor in a controlled manner is difficult for many older adults.
Play with your children on the floor. Bend over, get down and pull weeds in your garden. Play with a pet on the floor.
The more effort you make to work on balance and flexibility will pay dividends as you age.
Well, actually last September I spent 27 hours on the cellar floor until someone noticed I was missing.
I fell several times during the 1st 5 months of 2023. I had to call 911 to get up off the floor. None of the 5 PTs I have seen since wanted me to get near the floor. I am not going to get on the floor by myself.
So I won't be doing any of these exercises.
I have been doing a number of other exercises and have gotten much stronger. I do flexibility exercises using my rollator that I learned from this channel.
@@jacquelyns9709 Ideally people start doing floor exercises while they are still able to get up and down without any help. The idea is to extend your ability longer in life. Sounds like you are beyond that point and need assistance to work on balance, strength and flexibility from a standing or sitting position with something near by to help with stability. A chair, counter top, a walker or even a cain can be helpful and provide added stability. Once you are unable to do floor exercises it is difficult to do them. Some of the exercises can be performed while lying in bed though. The point was to continue to get on the floor as you age and while you are still able to. That is why you need to do these in your 30s, 40s 50s and beyond. This should be a life long practice not something you suddenly try to do after being unable to get on the floor years or even a decade. This was about prevention and keeping the ability thru out your life. Maintaining strength and flexibility is more desirable than trying to rehabilitate after loosing it.
That makes such a difference. People don't realize how little movement they do in a day as they age.

How is BOB doing???? I'll pray for him Brad take care!!!!

Awesome to hear, thanks for watching!
This is really helpful. Thanks
So happy to hear it!
Great vid! Side plank, though, could be tough on the shoulder with pain.
I feel you. My shoulder has been injured and has gotten sore lately. Makes certain exercises difficult.
Glad you liked it!
Can you show some other exercises adapted for hurt shoulders please.
Here are some you can try: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=shoulder%20pain

How,about a work out twist using resistance bands tube
Here is a link with all our workout videos that use resistance bands: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=resistance%20band%20workout
Great as always.
The bird dog could use a more qualitative approach, regarding to the core and spine Stability aspect.
When doing it, the purpose is to hold the core and keep the lumbar spine in a neutral position all the time, or you dont really train the core effective.
Mike went from neutral to exstension when he performed it, and the pelvis dropped from side to side, so no really core Stability.
And the hold should at least be 10 seconds, working up to 30 seconds at some point.
Great as always, but the quality was lacking a little with the bird - dog.
Thank you for watching!
Serious issues with my knees, so getting on all fours is impossible. Any substitutions?
I do these standing. That gets some balance work in too. And I've done the opposite leg and arm lift while lying on my back. It doesn't do the exact same work but does help with elongating the spine.
We will look into it!
What alternative if injured on the shoulder for the side plank and bird-dog ?
Hello: What if your rectus stomach muscles are torn and you have a pot belly? It looks like a large hernia but is not. Are these still good exercises? Thanks
If it causes you pain, please do not do it.
Can u PLEASE do a video of core exercises for seniors who cant get on floor… chair or standing core exercises.
You can try this video: czcams.com/video/L4yfBlZIrXg/video.htmlsi=oVcBo1u107Thmy9W
With the bird dog I do not do that on the floor. I have a bench seat on my porch. I put one arm on it for balance then lift the other arm and the opposite to the arm leg and hold. My knees won't take being on the floor anymore.
Thanks for sharing!
Had knees replaced how can I do the third one not on my knees
2:50 is going to be tough if your... "top heavy" (i.e. big belly) - instead of the upper body going up the legs come up and this whole exercise is becoming more of a balancing act than targetting specific muscles. I'm also not sure how good it is to do situps when having abdominal separation - would it worsen or better the issue.🤔
My situation as well
Great point. If you cannot do it with proper mechanics, it could cause more harm than good.
Are planks ok for severe lumbar spinal stenosis and sciatica?
Yes, they should help strengthen the muscles to help the pain from these.
Greetings, are these good for ppl with listhesis. Pls advice. Thanks
Simple answer yes. But check with your own doctor. Extension tends to be the biggest problem for spondylolisthesis
Many thanks @@tonykelpie
As long as they don't cause new or more pain.
😊 Deadlift, Benchpress, Squat, you will need a cage to do it safely and its alot easier too.
Thanks for watching!
@@BobandBrad Your Welcome 😇
Can i lift weights in gym with grade 1 spondylolisthesis. Or first i have to make my core strong to stabilize spine than after i can hit the gym??
We would suggest strengthening first before hitting the gym too hard.
@@BobandBrad thank you sir, after making core hard, I can really hit the gym? With low to minimum weight? And avoiding deadlift and squats?
I do side planks with something between my legs. This will be back pain free.Unlike 9/10 AB Exercises.
Thanks for sharing!
Now what is the best exercise to beef up my brain's motivation muscle? Maybe do a show with a psychologist on motivation and willpower with a focus on how to create a SUCCESSFUL (meaning actually sticking with it) EXERCISE PROGRAM?
Thank you for your videos!
Develop your right brain as well as your individual and group identity.
Lol, ditto!

How about a tare in your axle?
We would have to recommend you speak to your doctor as they know your specific situation
I earned the Presidential fitness award in 6th, 7th & 8th grade. Now today I can't see my toes past my belly.😔

I’m not convinced that women should be doing less than men for abdominal exercises; the upper body in a woman weighs less than in a man
I agree. Unfortunately, research focuses on men. Not much research done to really see what works best for women.
Totally relatable, will see what we can find on this research!
Sorry
It is too distracting
Sorry!!
Who the heck talking to?
