In this video, we’re evaluating the fuel system on our Yamaha F225. Like the rest of the engine, this part of the outboard is a mixed bag of components that can be reused and those that must be replaced. John will show you how to test the fuel pump on your Yamaha outboard, and in our case there were some fairly obvious (and noisy) results. Then we’ll work on replacing the float needle on our F225.
After John shows you how to install the VST tank on the Yamaha 225, he’ll show you how to inspect the intakes and throttle bodies. He’ll also show you how to clean the fuel injectors on an outboard with a kit from Motion Pro (see the link above). Once that’s done, we’ll replace some of the seals to get the throttle bodies put back together again.
With everything put together, we’ll install the intakes on our Yamaha 225, and wrap things up by making some electrical and fuel line connections and attaching our throttle linkage.

These are great videos. I love working on my own gear but a little guidance helps. It also inspires me to do more of my own repairs. THANKS

John, this is a brilliant set of instructional video's - the best I've seen on CZcams. If this was a commercial job, can you give me an idea of what it would have cost the customer ?

Love your videos, super helpful. Ran into an issue that after reassembling my fuel system she fired up lovely but I have a leak at the push-connector on the high pressure fuel line. Part not labeled in the service manual - any advice?

I watched the whole series and never saw or heard where the 02 sensor is and cleaning for this motor. I have one side of mine leaking gas and doesn’t appear to fire. Trying to trouble shoot.

I had a rebuild done on a 225 2 stroke Yamaha. Do I need to send injectors off and high pressure pump off.
