I love him!!!! His narration is the best he brings this house alive. He is so great and very very respectful of the site he is at. I'm so glad this popped up on my feed.
Same. Love these old home explores and curious about the history of the people once there.💫💫🌸🌸
What you were calling a "crown" we call a "wreath". They're usually displayed by hanging them on the outside of the front door of the home and most popular to have up for Christmas.
It gets HOT in Georgia. Thus the raised floor for air flow under the house, high ceilings as hot air rises, and tall windows so air can be let out at the tops of the windows. Note the number of floor fans to keep the air moving. It does get cold in winter in a house designed for hot weather. Therefore the fire place and the many space heaters you found around. The deep front porch would be full of rocking chairs, perhaps a swing or two and a lot of living would have been on that porch. The ionic columns look odd but Greek inspired columns have always been popular in southern architecture. You were lucky to be out on an apparently cool day! Happy exploring to you!
It also looks like a dog trot where you could ventilate from the front to the back with the breeze through the doors. I wonder how old it is.
Judith, you said Exactly everything I was just about to comment on with regards to the fans and all of the space heaters. Also, you mentioned the very deep porches with the furniture outside on the porches. I lived in a very small town in Georgia for a year in a house that I rented. It was quite similar to this house!😊
Its amazing how greed appears when a a close relative passes, even if they've not been in touch or seen for years!
What a sweet and kind young man Leslie is. So respectful. Love these videos.
What an incredible find! I have never seen so many beds crammed together in a house. Beautiful place, would be lovely restored properly.
This was a very cool explore. I think this house started out as a family home and has architectural features typical of country built houses of around 1855/60. It’s made a great hunting lodge for the owners. Thanks for taking us along on this explore !
Hey I just thought of something. Please don’t think I’m weird but this is what I thought of. God forbid if something ever happens to me or my family and somehow our house or houses get abandoned, you always have my permission to come explore and tell our story. I think you’re the best explorer in the whole world of abandon things, because you’re an angel sent from heaven you’re so respectful and you tell the stories with love and care. OK that’s all I wanted to say, and again please don’t think I’m weird but I kind of just thought of that. Love, Freya
Awe! You're going to make me cry!
Nice organize house
Nicest thing I heard today
Ty 😊 and God Bless You
Welcome to the United States. I hope you felt welcomed, and enjoyed your time here .
I enjoy your videos very much, have watched everyone of them.
You seem very nice, and courteous. I'd like to meet you sometime.
Stay safe on all your travels.
I loved this one, I live in Georgia and it's awesome that you are exploring places here! Truly a shame that the children cannot come to an agreement on this lovely property. Looks like so many good times have been enjoyed here and hopefully one day it can be restored so the family and friends can again come here. As always a wonderful explore!!
Lesley so glad you are back, thought you had left us. Here you are in Georgia close to our area, North Fl. Love your channel been watching you for a long time! Please keep bringing us the history of family homes, it shows us how short our lives are.
This house is adorable and would be great as a family home!!
The short building next to the house is probably a cistern.
I hope the family gets to see this video, and that they're reminded of all the fun hunting trips! Such a beautiful home.
I hope that they get the legal matters all worked out so they can get in the house and on the property, I'd hate to leave anything like that behind.
It's a shame as they fight the house is rotting. Soon there will be nothing left.
Hello, Leslie and company! I live in Georgia (Augusta-to be exact). Nice to know you even manage to get to these parts. It's a far cry from Europe. We have a lot of old mansions here. Most have been turned into businesses, lawyer and doctor's offices. Concerning this home: I feel so badly that this family cannot agree on what to do with it There are a lot of selfish people in this world, fighting over what is left over from a modest life. People need to start caring about the past. The past helps us to understand the present and plan for the future (the good and the bad). When we understand those that came before us (in our own families) it gives us pride in our accomplishments, it also helps to to understand why we have the eye color we do, hair color, certain characteristics, etc. That kind of interest seems lost on our own youth today, and it is so very sad. Sorry I rambled on! 🤗 Much love to you all and the work you do!!🙏
It's a hunting camp. Idk why they would fight so hard over it.
@@kimmyhawk5612 Hunting puts food on the table, hon. It also helps to thin out areas where there are too many deer, keeping them from starving to death when their food supply has been depleted. I do not know what drives THESE people to fight like this. Maybe there is buried gold in the walls.
@@teresawright4947 I know what hunting is all about. I certainly wasn't putting it down. I don't even know why you would say that to me. I didn't say anything about that. I just meant to say it was a cabin, not a home.
Well said! ❤
Very cool location! It is very sad that none of the family members can enjoy the house yet. Keep up the good work 🔥
It's actually their camp site.
Good house for the family
Sorry for everything life must go no matter what,
Thanks for this explore! There was a comfortable feeling to this house, sorry to see that the family dispute has resulted in it being abandoned. My mother and her sister had a dispute over my grandfather's will and the negative ripple effect has even impacted the relations between younger generations. It's really senseless!
Cedo que horror essa casa sinistra essa família sera que era maluca matar os bichinhos e por as cabeças na parede e mesmo assustador 😱
Deer are not pets. They are wild animals that are edible and used to eat the meat for the family's use to sustain them.
I could live in this place! Somebody has to buy this and save it.
Lesley, you always make me chuckle...it's NOT HOMELY. It's HOMEY. Homely means UGLY or UNATTRACTIVE...LOL HOMEY, mean cozy, warm and welcoming.
In Europe they say homely, which is homey to us.
I also love how he charmingly calls "claw-foot tubs " "PAWS." I get a good chuckle every time. He is such a cutie!!
We say homely in Australia too. To us Homey is related to some kind of rap music language.
A homie is a brother from the hood. 😅
Being from Georgia you must visit Madison and Covington. Many beautiful homes. This house looks like it might have been used as a hunting lodge.
It was. I believe that's what he said. 😊
It was, I lived down there for a long time so I can picture being used. Hopefully they’ll use again
Greetings to you all! ❤❤❤ can't wait.
Thank you lesly for showing us this beautiful but it's sad that no one in the family is allowed to go to the house any more since the accident . I hope they will come one day ❤
I live in Georgia and love this house. My MIL's house in Kentucky is covered in knudzu because her children didn't agree. She also had multiple beds in the same bedroom. I love there's a table in the kitchen. My Sis had this in Kentucky, but you don't see it anymore. The stone little house outside looks like a well instead of a doghouse. Thank you for exploring our state. Another great video!
Leslie I just love how respectful you are and how your heart hurts just touching every Item in the house. I am so happy to see you again and your English is so good. Thank you for sharing such a great video.
The deer antler you saw on the porch was part of a hunter’s hunting gear. It is called a rattling horn to replicate male deer fighting or scraping on a tree.
Very relaxing video. Your voice is soft and your very gentle with others items. You are my favorite explorer. Thank you for all that you do to bring us these videos.
I love the narration! It's so heartfelt and allows the viewers to really come along as you walk thru this amazing place. The whole property seems so welcoming. I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you so much!
Hi Leslie. What a cozy hunting cabin. I hope the family can come to an agreement before the house falls down.
I have a rabbit ear attena like the ones in your video. If you have those you can get free TV. (I have 17 channels).
The round decorations with flowers on the walls are call wreaths here.
Thank you for another wonderful video.
wreath .... that thing hanging above the fireplace. thank you you are such a sweet man.
I would love to see you and Danny buy an abandoned castle and repair/restore it!
I enjoyed this exploration, so sad families fight over material things, they should preserve their family's history.
I enjoy your stories about how you feel people must have felt and the times they had enjoying these places.
I could watch you everyday!
Thank you and Danny so much ❤
Great to meet and talk to you today.. Keep up great work
Being from SC, and from a family of hunters, this brings back such wonderful memories of my childhood. It’s like stepping back in time. This house is amazing and I pray someone will restore it to their home one day.❤
The family could come to an agreement if they really wanted too.
In some states if the family cannot come to an agreement then the property can be taken from them and resold and none of the family get anything.
A beautiful place to just sit and rot away.
Great video so exciting youve come to Georgia to explore houses there. In the South houses were typically built raised up off the ground without basements. The small house built with cinder/ cement blocks was a well house. It covers where the well is located and would have an electric pump to send the water into the house. Thank you for showing us this old family farm home used probably for family celebrations and gatherings, hunting after the children left home.
Here time stands still. I feel like I'm going back in time 20 years. It looks so cozy and the people there have put so much effort into creating a comfortable home. Such a pity. It's so deserted now. From the outside, the architectural style is reminiscent of paintings by an American artist who uses exactly such houses as a motif. I can't think of the artist's name right now.
Thanks for exploring our Georgia Lesley, love this house and the work you and your team do, hope you come again, there is so much history here in the south.
Your respectful tours are so delightful . The grey wood barn on the property most likely is a tobacco drying building. The pillars probably came from a older building and repurposed for Terrys house.
Love the front porch design. Enjoyed the explore done so very well by such a nice man.
I lived in Georgia for a long time growing up. I’ve never known a hunter who didn’t feed his family with it. Georgia has pretty sunsets and trees, and a lot of cool houses like this.
Definitely it held a lot of people comfortably, a bit crowded but sure offered its purpose, lots of camaraderie, the place resonates with the good vibes of it. Thank you Leslie for finding & showing us this hunting lodge !!
👍👍 😊
Hello Leslie what a beautiful home but it’s sad seeing just sitting there. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice day ❤
Thank you. Glad your back. Love watching your videos!! 😊
Wow! What a sad story, and in the end, this once beautiful home is abandoned. Thank you always for your great work documenting history.
I remember the last town I lived, the family was fighting over this big 2 story house. Some were in a big fight, over who'd get the Cadillac in the driveway, it was crazy. Some families are like that, fight over every little item, it's lunacy.
Beautiful and authentic lighting fixtures in the various rooms including the Kitchen!
They probably have well water??
Unfortunately… what may happen is the property will sell.. to a developer and there will soon be a subdivision…such a gorgeous property!! The road in front of the house was possibly their front yard… moved by progression and lost to the “now” era… so sad to see the loss in the name of the future… hope y’all enjoyed Georgia!! Thank you!!
I love well water. It's better for you than city water. City water is not good for the thyroid.
Breaks my heart to see it going to ruin. Lovely place. The thing over fireplace in bedroom is called a wreath. Great video love you guys🙏🙂❤👍
I have been watching Bros of Decay for sometime now and I enjoy them so much… sometimes while watching I’m thinking out loud “be careful be careful” but between the voice tone and overall camera work, I feel as though I’m exploring with them. Welcome to the US and I hope you have a chance to visit NY State. I live in suburban NYC but in Westchester County although you won’t find abandoned mega mansion etc there is still abandoned properties loaded with rich history. Welcome and as always be safe 👊🏽 I forgot, hehe… the tv w/foil wrap antenna some of us still use today 🤣
He is so good looking and well spoken love it loves his voice and nature ❤❤❤❤
@brosofdecay 👋🌸💛👍 always excited to see you guys!
This was interesting. Above the fireplace is a wreath. For decoration. Thank you, Lesley you are the best!! We love you too!😊
Beautifully written and spoken narration in the beginning. Like poetry. Story telling is a lost art, now making a comeback.
Hello you wonderful man! As always you tell the story and such a kind gentle sweet way with such respect. This is why my family loves you so much. Regarding all those dog houses outside or at least those two that I saw, but the one that’s made of stone I believe that might be a well pump house for water or something like that instead of a dog house. Thank you so much for your exploring. I love all of your videos and I look forward to keep watching all of them. You really do make my day so happy. I’m glad you’re in the USA. I live in Tennessee and I think Tennessee and Georgia have a lot of wonderful old mansions and houses. We love you bro. Hugs to you and yours always, Freya
Oh my Leslie, you were in Georgia, I would have loved to meet you , I watch ur videos all the time, I'm in Covington Georgia about 40 miles east of Atlanta, you do a great job thanks 😊 👍
Very nice place, and the taxidermist did a really good job on the deers. I was curious at first when i saw all the beds. i thought maybe the owner had lots of thank you for a great explore
Definitely a country home turned hunting lodge. Beautiful inside. U always do such an excellent job of telling the story of the past occupants.
Danke für jede vdo Bros und für die vielen Erklärungen so sehr schön erzählt hat,. Es ist zu schade jeder Haus so ein Fach verlassen,. Mir ist es zu schade 😢 ❤
Your finding some great places. When are you coming back to Massachusetts?? I live here and see so many farm houses and old colonials from atleast the 1800's
Lindsay I enjoy that you do research on your properties before releasing your videos. Thank you for keeping the content fresh and interesting.
This is an amazing property, thank you for sharing! I sincerely hope the family are able resolve their differences!
What a beautiful place 🤩 can't wait to see this one🎉❤❤
This house is a beauty. I love these old house built back in the early days. You can always tell with those wooden slat ceilings and walls. I would love to live in this house today. You did a wonderful job Leslie. Thank you for sharing this great story with us and I pray those kids will stop being silly but instead realize they are all family. They should work things out without fighting about things. It's so sad when greed is present after your parents pass but I experienced when my half brother took everything from me. Sad but it happens more than it doesn't unfortunately. For future reference Leslie, just because people have angels or pictures of Christ on the cross it doesn't mean they are Roman Catholicism but could more than likely in Georgia in the South be Baptist Church,Southern Baptist or Methodist Church or even Lutheran Church. We all enjoy angels and Jesus Christ 😊🙏
It motivates me to think about getting rid of so much STUFF that only means something to me … Ug Time to pass on my family treasures to my younger kin .. if I passed and left all kinds of stuff for others to “ deal with” I’d be embarrassed… all that being said, THANK YOU for this GREAT VIDEO!!! Be well! 😊
A very sad story into the very sad house........
Greetings from Pisa Italy!🌟
Thank you Leslie, I love everything you bring to all of us😅
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful home hopefully someone will fix it up . thanks for sharing 💋 💘
Great video - as always. 🌹
The pink walls are obviously the ladies' bedroom. (Enough deer heads everywhere else in the house!) I loved the floral wreath on the wall. Pink bedrooms were common in the south. It's really sad that the family can't reach an accord about the property.
Sadly, more than likely the house will fall into disrepair. To the point of the only option will be to sell to the land to recoup the taxes owed on it.
I’m with you Leslie, I have family members who hunt but I could never shoot these beautiful creatures.
Another great video Lesley, that round thing on the wall we call a wreath. Love from Australia
Thanks for another great exploration.
Thanks . You took us to a beautiful virtual tour. 😅😅😅 I love the place. I pray they resolve whatever issuues they have as a family in good time to save this place. All good luck to the family.
thank you Leslie. I agree 100% that deer hunting is fine as long as youre doing to feed yourself and your family but most people in the U.S. who deer hunt and have heads mounted, simply deer hunt for the heads. Not saying this family was like that but most are and it makes me really mad.
Yes, exactly. This guy was not hunting to feed anyone; he was doing it for sport, and that enrages me, too ....
That is not necessarily true. My husband and his brother manages a hunting club. They hunt turkey, deer, rabbit and fish the ponds around the property. They take great care to maintain the property they hunt and they have rules about the size of the animals that can be harvested. I hope Leslie reads this because that house has been turned into a hunting club for its members. There is probably at least 20 a30 members of that club. Each man has a bunk or bed that they can sleep in. My husband’s club has 32 members. Most come in on a Friday night and hunt all day Saturday and then go home until they come again. Some will stay a week at the time. We eat whatever is harvested. We make sausage, hamburger and steaks from the deer meat. We eat the turkey breast. The meat is slso given to Hunters for the Hungry to distribute to hungry people. Please don’t make assumptions about hunters. Most are good hard working men and woman that love the land and the animals and keep them maintained from over population and diseases like blue tongue or chronic wasting disease.
Agree, Rhea Music!!!
Karen stop trying to justify shooting animals. The only reason they are overpopulated is because humans have killed their natural predators and destroyed their habitats, but yet think killing more innocent animals is going to solve the problem. You can’t love animals and also kill them 💁♀️
I totally agree with you, Rhea! What I see in that house are Trophies mounted on the walls! Not sure if anyone noticed all of the deer decoys and the special sprays that they were using to hide their own scent so that they could get closer to their targets. Ugghh...😩👎
You are so very respectful you don't see that much in adults your age. It's nice to see there are still some out there. Nice video !!!! I am close to Georgia I live in South Carolina
The round decorative piece is called a "Wreath" and they come decorated for every season. I live in the state right next to Georgia. Lots of mansions here in South Carolina!
I think someone is keeping it clean..and thats wonderful...keep doing what your doing...
Very nice video! Thank you so much! 😘
Parabéns pelo seus vídeos, fantásticos 😍👏👏👏
Little brick house out back isn’t a dog house ,it’s a well house. Enjoying all your videos.
You are an excellent narrator!!!😊
It is a very cool place this was a sad story thank you for sharing it was nice to see 💯
Hello Leslie, danny,and everyone!
This is not a mansion. its just a run down old house.
I don't know why some people don't leave wills To prevent issues with children fighting over property. If you didn't want them to have it he could have at least gave it to the city. The land is what's most likely more valuable.
The old friends I had all acted like they would die at 99/100 in the care home and instead died basically on the job or about to retire.
They do things like
"I'll write my will at 90...95"
Beautiful hunting house hopefully one day it will be restored before it’s too late Thank you for showing us this place 🙏💖
Me encantan estos vídeos, sobretodo por el enorme respeto que pones sobre los lugares que nos enseñas.
Graaaaacias🇪🇸
All the best, friend.
Love your narration Leslie and how you respect the homeowners as if they are there with you. The house is up on bricks to protect inhabitants from radon gas. The exposed siding on the wall in the kitchen means that it was once an exterior wall and that room was added on so the original house footprint was smaller. The high ceilings were needed to keep the house cool during the summers before electricity - and transom windows over the door ways increased circulation. It's very special that the owners didn't install drop ceilings and central heat/air back in the 1970's when that was all the craze. We call those antennas "rabbit ears". And it is remarkable that the chandeliers are still intact. The "wreaths" are typically made of grapevine or something similar & became popular in the 1980s. All those deer eyeballs creep me out but I'm not a hunter... but I would have loved to have climbed that tree as a kid. What a great place to grow up. I hope they resolve their differences and remember what families are for - a loving community.
You hit the nail on the head, Maria, when you explained the reasoning for the transom windows and the exposed siding on the wall in the kitchen. Also, I too, remember the rabbit ear antennas. My parents had them as we were growing up. I always thought it was so funny as I watched them constantly fussing with the antennas and thought it was so hilarious and truly wondered, what the heck good did it really do?🤔🤔🧐🧐 And look at us here today. My parents wouldn't believe how we are communicating and how we are doing it!😲🤳👩🦽👩💻👩🦳🌞
In the South of USA, a lot of older homes built before air conditioners were available were built with ceilings higher than 10 feet. This is because heat rises and it helped in keeping the lower part of a room cooler. The old home I grew up in had 10 foot ceilings, and when we'd get on ladder to paint it, the top 2-3 feet were always hotter and more humid. Of course in the South, hot and humid is quite the situation there. These older homes in South also had tall windows for a reason. The upper window would be lowered to let the hot humid air near ceiling to flow out, and the lower window opened some to allow cooler air to flow inward. Most of such windows also had lead weights inside the window casement tied to a thick rope, and that rope over a pulley and then attached to the window. It was to balance the windows so they could be raised and lowered and stay in place where they were put. Of course the weights were matched to the window weight to make that possible.
Gosh, I remember those weights in the window casements so well. Such a pain in the neck when they stopped working!☹️😩👎
That stone "DOG" shed is most likely a small well house and the shed next to the locked barn is probably a firewood shed🔥
Wow very beautiful and historical
❤❤❤ amazing video
I love watching him
Pretty cool. Thank you
Beautiful home
The way you describe things I bet you can make an old outhouse sound like the Taj Mahal.
Pěkná prohlídka a dobře okomentované děkuji pěkný pozdrav z Česka Jana ❤😊
Not a mansion, a farm house. Lovely property. Here in the states very little is made to last thus the wood. As we buy upgrade appliances, often the old is used for extra storage.
