Your video was featured on 'Nuke's Top 10' today, about the paranormal, and it's what brought me here. This is a great one, and I would love to see you return and do a Part 2! We lived in an old house in Norfolk, VA built in 1903 and I used to frequently hear what sounded like somebody going up and down the basement stairs when I was down there. My wife never went down there because it was dirty so she never heard it and I knew better than to tell her because she'd have flipped out. I don't know what it was and nothing else out of the ordinary ever happened there, but it did sound exactly like somebody walking on the stairs.
I had to go back and listen 3x to the steps and its not the wind!!!! I love this old house...go back and finish!! Never in my life have I seen anyone crawl so fast from under a house lol...Cant wait for part 2!! Hi Mr Dan.

My grandfather's house in upstate NY is an old post and beam house. One corner of the house was built onto a big old oak stump. You can still see it in the basement, still holding that old house up....which was extremely well built.
In the old days, pre electrical air conditioning, people built houses, called shotgun houses, especially in the Southern hotter states. Basically a central hallway that lead from the front door, to the back door, and all the rooms were on either side. This allowed any wind or breeze to blow through the house and cool things naturally.
My sister lives in a shotgun house here in Southern California built in the 1920's. Except it's largely Spanish Colonial Style as is common here in our home town. No ghosts. The only person i know of who died there was our mother in her final illness more than a quarter century ago. My folk go back to the late 1800's here. Which means in our context original settlers on virgin lands.
partially true....actually, a "Shotgun house" was a long narrow residence that had no hall, only doors to the rooms......the early "pre AC houses had what were known as "Dog run or Dog trots".....and yes, they allowed air to flow through the house, helping to cool it....another point of insterest....shot gun houses were so named because you could supposedly fire a shotgun into the front door and hit everything inside
My grandparents lived in one like that as well as my husband’s grandmother. I love that style of house. Houses back then were always better than ones built now. You could tell that was a very old house and the wood was still in great shape. I enjoyed the video 😊
Those were definitely boots steps walking across the floor above you and what sounded like a loud bump as you walked away! Seems like "someone" was telling you that the home was not abandoned and you were trespassing! A heart thumping moment for sure!
@@AdventuresIntoHistory Can’t argue with you there but in this case, I have no doubt there was something walking around in that house. You sure did get out from under that house quickly 😁
After the footsteps and when you were out in the yard, Mr. Dan said 'That's not funny' and started to walk back toward you and stopped, his eyes grew big because he heard something 20.19 to 20.30 there is someone breathing or someone dragging something. Mr Dan heard it and I think you heard. Mr. Dan said 'Are you ready to go.' and you said 'Yep, I'm ready.'
Yes, Robert and I both heard it, you just can’t see the look on his face! It was footsteps and dragging sounds coming from the room behind him even as he turned looking in that direction! -Dan.
Wow! I heard those footsteps 👣 on that wood floor coming from inside that house just as clear as day. Im a paranormal researcher and i belleve that was the ghost of old Mr. Willis walking across that floor in some boots. Man that was a great catch of some disembodied footsteps. If Mr. Willis lived there a lomg time and died there. And its been vacant since.... Then that was probably him. Id love to see yall go back there. Love listening to your stories. Funny how the footsteps started right as you were talking about the 1958 coke bottle. Im a new subscriber. I love old abandoned places and the ghosts.
I was going to ask if y’all have ever seen or heard spirits. After this, I’m good. Now I know. Crawling under that house with spiders and hearing those noises. No thank you!!!!! 😮
Spirits aren't scary but poltergaists are. There are friendly spirit/spirits in my flat. Spirit and poltergaist are different kind I spend my youth in a house where was a poltergaist far long ago (1800s) my ancestor among the other villagers burnt 5 Russian intruders in a barn. I gues one of them hount our lands.
When my Grandmothers old homestead was built way back in the late 1800. They used the stumps for the house foundation. When we had to go clean out the house, it had the same kind of doors on the interior. Had to go back several weeks after that weekend, someone stole all the doors out of the house. Im surprised the house doors are still there, but it looks like most of the windows are gone. Mr. Dan sure doesn't like anything spooky, does he? Can't wait for the barn tour.
Many years ago we were on a cross country trip. Well I was driving and got caught in a really bad storm. There was no town close by so I pulled off the freeway and there was a dirt road. Decide to get on the dirt rode to get out of the way just in case some vehicle lost control. My husband and I fell asleep which we normally never did. The next morning we woke up and next to us was old small family cemetery. My husband and I looked at each other and offered a prayer and told them we didn't mean any disrespect we didn't see it in the storm. My husband still says it was the best sleep he ever got on the road.
Yep. Those were definitely footsteps, and during your outro it sounded like the door slammed too. 😊 Thank You both, for this interesting and exciting video.
Yikes! Run!!! That was creepy! I was impressed with the speed that Robert has coming out from under that old house! I think you need to talk the Other Robert into joining you two when you go back to see what's (or who) is in the barn. 💀
It decided to be the creepy old house that you called it. 😮 What a beautiful property and how cool is that house?! It would be great to restore, those terraced yard. Amazing.
It would be great to restore it but who would want to live there? When I was a kid we lived in a haunted house that was only 5 or 6 years old. That was NO fun at all.
That did not sound like the wind to me it definitely sounded like footsteps. And if the house is as old as y'all say it is, it could have been a spirit. And that wood inside of the house still looked amazing I would take it and use it inside of my cabin. But footstep sounds it would have s😮cared me out too! Now I want to see part 2 so I subscribed and I hope your video will come up!
I think you finally found a place that definitely has a spirit hanging around. I listened to that many times, and it's footsteps. If you guys or someone else is pulling a prank, it's a damn good one!
That was not just the wind... those were definitely foot steps, clear as day. And at the end, they'd had enough of you, so good job you left when you did!
Wow!! That was cool and very creepy. The footsteps come through loud and clear on the video as well as whatever that "screaming" was and the last noise. Robert, you are sure brave to crawl under these places. I love to explore too, but I draw the line at the spot Dan was LOL!! Speaking of, I really enjoy when you have Dan on. I love to hear the stories he relates about the area, be it houses like this or cemeteries. Thank you for your continued great content from the beautiful state of Georgia! Ok awesome video and yes a very creepy place. Those sounded 100% like footsteps. I thought I picked something else up as well. When Mr. Dan says "hello" at the end I believe I heard a voice respond and say "Hey" at 20:10. It didn't sound like Robert either. Georgia is old and it has many tales of hauntings and such. Wouldn't be surprised at a place like this. Keep up the awesome content
Many of the features you are commenting on were similar in my grandparents home. Only 3 of the 5 rooms were sealed with tongue-and-grove lumber. It was built quickly in the 1930s to a common layout: two large front rooms with shared chimneys between them. Three smaller rooms were across the back. The kitchen wasn’t sealed with wood, but with cardboard.
I've been lucky enough to explore several empty farmhouses, always straining to imagine the families that have left them. Like Brian, I'm always listening for history to 'speak' but the only time I've felt 'history' living, was in Bandelier Indian ruins outside Los Alamos New Mexico. And the only time I felt emotional pain was at the war monument in Kiev when I toured on a nursing visit. The Arizona Memorial in Honolulu made a painful impact on me as well. I guess I've just never been in the right part of the country to actually feel spooked.
We had an old well on our property when I was a kid. Our grandmama told me and my brothers to NEVER drop rocks down it. You never know WHO is down there.
I was thinking, it's not creepy, just old and deserted. Until those noises. And you two guys are not sensationalist like so many others are. That really was pretty creepy. Great video though. Thanks.
I definitely love your videos!!! Very often 'creators' like to build the mood or play pranks on eachother but I really don't think that is what happened this time!!! Both of you deserve an Academy Award if it wasn't 'real' I was going to say if the house was going to be destroyed that those tongue & groove boards would go fabulous in the Byrd house... not after what happened!!! I always look the big grin on Dan's face as he decides to throw that brick in the well. It surely seemed to slosh a relatively long time too. Can't wait to see the barn and hopefully more videos. ❤❤❤❤ My Dad and I loved to explore abandoned houses and farms back in the 60s when I was very young!!!
New sub here. I loved how the two gentlemen gave some property history and looked into the house structure and construction - even to the point of crawling underneath. That was gutsy in my book! Not sure if the footsteps and loud bang was staged or not. I could go either way having lived in a century home with unexplained activity. For some reason, this house doesn't look creepy to me, just very old with parts falling down. Actually, with the house being open to the elements, I was impressed how good it looked inside.
I’m not one that believes in ghosts but that couldn’t be anything else but boot foot steps! And when you guys said you’re leaving and a loud crack sound. I can’t explain that
Hi Robert and Dan! Thanks so much for showing us this place! Sorry the ghost scared you off! 🎃 You scared me as I thought you had finally found that snake you were looking for!😅 I wonder if it wasn't rebuilt three times? Once during the Civil War, once when burnt down a second time (would explain the extra heavy kaolin coat on the old fireplace) and then the other rooms were added on. I ask that because I think that the second set of stairs may be a mounting block for horses. I've seen similar structures for this purpose on large farms and plantations. The Uncle may have been like my Big Mama, born in the early 1903, who never learned how to drive! Since much of the outside and the fridge are probably 1930s-1940s, this is a possibility. Can't wait to see the next one!
That was such a cool explore! I love that you two discuss the architecture of the house and when it may have been built base on materials used! I really appreciate thst you are both older (like myself) and can still get a little creeper out! I don't feel like such a scary cat! 😂 Thank you for sharing this site! I really loved it!
Considering the rustic self-sufficiency those folks called life it's amazing to see how they continued to "fix up the old place" until, for whatever reason, they left for good. You're right, Robert - it's a creepy place. I definitely heard something too! And then the door slam - bye! I don't believe in ghosts, per se, but I do believe in a "lingering energy" . (Our family experienced it with my mom 5½ years ago.) Maybe the cabin has a permanent paranormal "keeper" or a guardian. A creepy thought: maybe that's why you see old designs with new designs in the house. Old chimneys then newer floorboards and stuff in between. Whoever it is maybe didn't WANT those things to be removed or demolished. It let tenants fix it up to keep it livable tho. Maybe it was the one who built the cabin (and the chimneys) and wants to keep it there. Sorry - I'm letting my mind wander!😁 I like old stories like that. It could be romantic if it wasn't so creepy. I mean, the cabin could have been a work of love built by a man for his new bride. I can't wait to find out what more you discover as you explore. You always make everything so much fun!

@@m31indap You’re right. i went back and i do hear something, i just can’t make out what it is.
@@shawnawilliamson2739 It sounds like singing or humming to me, but only if I listen with headphones.
Makes me think they overdubbed the footsteps onto the audio @@m31indap
That old house should be restored as a historic landmark.
i agree.
Hello from a NW Georgia lady currently in her 18 wheeler bunk in Savannah. Saw your clip on Nukes and was excited to see something authentic AND close to home. Excited to watch the episode here. You gentlemen have a good day now.
Mr. Dan and Robert I really enjoy watching you two. You guys are just big kids, you made my day with laughter. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks so much!
Me too fellas, But are you going back up to the house to let them know your going to be checking out there Barn. I guess I could be the camera man from say about 50 yards out, That way I got a head start on getting the heck outta there. Love you guys adventures.
Hello Pat how's the weather over there
Those did sound like footsteps ... love that Dan was OUTSIDE the house while you were checking out the inside ... and the loud bang was very eerie! The veil is getting thinner ...
Hello Dorothy how's the weather over there
Your video was featured on 'Nuke's Top 10' today, about the paranormal, and it's what brought me here. This is a great one, and I would love to see you return and do a Part 2! That house and the area are very creepy for sure. I've subscribed and looking forward to more of your interesting historical videos!
Welcome aboard! We filmed the barn in “part 2”
That was me, I suggested the video 😁
Hello Mary how's the weather over there
We lived in an old house in Norfolk, VA built in 1903 and I used to frequently hear what sounded like somebody going up and down the basement stairs when I was down there.
Hi Mr Dan.
Man I hope you guys are not pulling our legs. That was creepy. Very fascinating video.
Obviously a hoax. 😄
WOW! Those were some loud footsteps! That place was very interesting and I loved hearing the little history of the family.
Oh, those were footsteps. Absolutely eerie and that bang at end was creepier still
It’s not the creepy old house that would bother me, it’s the creepy snakes and critters that are surely inhabiting that old house.
Exactly what I was thinking 😅
I've been under many . I even use my metal detector ! Done this for years on old properties .
Loved watching this! 👏🏻

My grandfather's house in upstate NY is an old post and beam house. One corner of the house was built onto a big old oak stump. You can still see it in the basement, still holding that old house up....which was extremely well built.
I was thinking it might be pinecones or acorns hitting the tin roof, but it has more of a wood sound than metal. Fascinating!
You & Dan make a great team. I love watching videos with both of you. Dan is such a wealth of knowledge!
Hello how's the weather over there
The walls, ceilings, floors, are beautiful. Very well made. I like that house
*shotgun shack
Robert, I must say that's the fastest I've ever seen you back out from under a house before.
Hello Suzanne how's the weather over there
Those were definitely boots steps walking across the floor above you and what sounded like a loud bump as you walked away! Seems like "someone" was telling you that the home was not abandoned and you were trespassing! A heart thumping moment for sure!
It was weird, but old houses make weird noises sometimes 😳🤷♂️
@@AdventuresIntoHistory keep telling yourself that!😂😂😂
@@AdventuresIntoHistory Not loud boot-heavy steps, never heard that and I would have shimmied on out of there, that's for sure.
@@AdventuresIntoHistory Robert, you forgot to yell Jumanji as you made tracks outta there! 😉

Can’t argue with you there but in this case, I have no doubt there was something walking around in that house. You sure did get out from under that house quickly 😁
Welp, definitely woke up something there. Started after you guys threw the brick in the well. Really creepy and cool at the same time. I love it!
Love it! Those footsteps were super clear!
Absolutely one of the best videos of actual foot steps in an old house.
-Dan.
Thought I heard it too
Definitely a disembodied breathe.
That is ultra creepy!!! The best was the loud bang at the end..."and don't come back!!!"
What an awesome episode, I can’t wait for part 2!! I love creepy old houses Robert, you and Dan are fun to watch. Take care
Hello Deborah how's the weather over there
I was going to ask if y’all have ever seen or heard spirits.
Right, I would of high tailed it out of there so fast all you'd see is blur running past you lol. 😅💀
@shadowblissfang2397 you and me both! I can deal with "hants" but not a pile of spiders crawling down my neck.
Doesn't Georgia have rattlesnakes?
@gaymiller7186 Yes n big one's too!
Always be polite to spirits. Never challenge them.Did that door slam shut?😂
OMG I totally heard those footsteps! It sounded like heavy men's boots. So cool!!
I absolutely enjoy the history that you share with everyone, from the graveyards to old home sites, you make me look forward to what you show next
Hello Mitchell how's the weather over there
When my Grandmothers old homestead was built way back in the late 1800.
Hello Annga how's the weather over there
Many years ago we were on a cross country trip.
Thank You both, for this interesting and exciting video.
Yikes! Run!!! That was creepy! I was impressed with the speed that Robert has coming out from under that old house! I think you need to talk the Other Robert into joining you two when you go back to see what's (or who) is in the barn. 💀
Hello Sandy how's the weather over there
It decided to be the creepy old house that you called it.
That sounded exactly like footsteps! That would have been a big NOPE for me.😂
Creepy for sure. Give me the chills. Don't know if these guys are pulling our leg or what.
He tends to have ghostly encounters in October. :)
I was wondering if it was staged. But either way it was creepy for sure! Great exploration as usual.
Wow, hearing Willis/Whisnant was crazy. These family names are also intertwined in SW Missouri around Ava/Sparta/Ozark Missouri.
Its the Halloween edition of this old house LOL There is a lot of great wood in that house and looks like it could be saved.
Yes and the footsteps will be saved right along with the wood.

My wife, son, and I were just down in Chickamauga from Illinois in July of this year.
I would be terrified of running into snakes in these old houses and ruins. 🐍
Hello Carla how's the weather over there
The Construction and structure looks sound and stronger in that old house is stronger than a lot of modern homes today
If you're running in the woods away from a madman with a chainsaw and spot a creepy old house, then naturally, you want to run right in there.😎😱

CONGRATULATIONS ROBERT (and Dan)!

Hey Robert I thought those kind of things don't bother you😂
Thanks for the outing. Love watching history.❤❤❤
Fascinating video! Those were footsteps plain as day! He didn't want you messing with his old Coke bottles.
Good advice
Oh Lord. That was spooky. Don't go disturbing what need not be disturbed .💀
So sad, such a beautiful location and beautiful old home...could be so stunning❤❤❤
I laughed so hard. I would have been gone at footsteps. You made my day.
It was creepy. I am glad you left! Sad stories that house could probaby tell.
I was watching this thinking about making it a livable cabin. The floor joists looked good
I was thinking, it's not creepy, just old and deserted. Until those noises. And you two guys are not sensationalist like so many others are. That really was pretty creepy.
Great video though. Thanks.
I definitely love your videos!!! Very often 'creators' like to build the mood or play pranks on eachother but I really don't think that is what happened this time!!! Both of you deserve an Academy Award if it wasn't 'real'
I was going to say if the house was going to be destroyed that those tongue & groove boards would go fabulous in the Byrd house... not after what happened!!!
You guys should've never messed with the well!😂😂 Well done.
That’ll be the last one we ever mess with. Well probably not...
When the block hit the bottom of the well it sounded very creepy.

I can’t explain that
Hey ya’ll ❤ I love that pine tongue n groove on the walls- it would look awesome repurposed on a project!!
Thanks guys for sharing. Brought back a lot of childhood memories for me, roaming the Georgia woods
👻 foot steps and the bang at the end sounded just like the screen door slamming on my grandma’s old house when I was a kid. 😱
Boy theres some good lumber that could be salvaged
