  • After almost a year after purchasing the Black Hunter Longbow here are my thoughts.
This is still a great bow for the money regardless of your experience level.
I know the shooting wasn't that great it was 100% me not any of the equipment.
I highly recommend this bow for anyone wanting to tryout traditional archery.

How's your black hunter holding up? I've held off due to the multiple reviews of the bow splitting and the string breaking. It's such a good looking bow with seemingly a lot of potential, but I'm not interested in throwing away my money or smacking myself in the face on the draw...

Hey Andy ! You and several others have talked me in to this bow. Got it on eBay for just a tad over $100 ! Can’t find a flaw in it, and it shoots hard, no hand shock, and quiet as a mouse fart. First arrow I shot was in to pond bank from front porch,(you know the shot) held way to high, that one is stuck in the mud at bottom of pond ! 😄
Buddy of mine wins or at least places with his at big shoots in the super senior class. It’s fun to watch him spank the high end bows with his cheap china import.

I have this bow with 55 pound limbs and a 28 inch draw. Took my first shots this afternoon. Never shot anything but a crossbow before. After about 50 shots my left elbow hurts. I can't even draw the string to my cheek so I ordered the 45 pound replacement limbs. Hopefully they will be easier to draw

@@chriss.3476 The string issue is with the string that comes with the bow it's a endless loop Dacron it's cheap and not worth using. Get a Flemish twist string B50 and you'll be set.
The bow it self is great and a lot of the issues with the bow is caused by user error.
Laminated bows need a little TLC you have to be careful how you store them and exposer to heat.
Like leaving the bow in your vehicle under hot sun can cause the glue to soften.
Also limbs crack if improperly strung.
This can happen with any trad bow.
