My winner is LRP but I've tried way more products than the ones sold in the USA so I get why y'all prefer CeraVe.
My favorite cleanser is LRP Lipikar syndet AP+ it's advertised for eczema and I have psoriasis so it was recommended by my dermatologist and I love it, I used to buy it in Mexico or Portugal but they now have it in the USA.

In France and the surrounding countries, LPR is about half the price, and cerave is a bit more expensive (and also has different formulations in Europe) and for me, LPR is like that best friend that you can always trust, cerave is like someone you’re friendly with but can be kinda boring :/

About the eye cream , I own both of them, I have really sensitive dry skin since I’m on tretinoin, and the cerave one gave me a burning feeling when I applied it. The laroche-posay didn’t burned my eyes skin at all, but I wish it was more hydrating!!!

Re: LaRoche Posey moisturizer AP+ def can moisturize up to 48 hours and I have v-e-r-y dry skin. I have tried using regular moisturizer under my eyes and on my lids; it doesn't work for me. It sinks in too much and makes my eyesight blurry. I have been buying eye cream for 30 years. Regarding cleansers, LaRoche Posey gets the vote because even the hydrating Cerave cleanser is too drying.

On my dry skin, these 2 products were super dryng and harsh. And when I got La Rosh Posay - Toleriane in Ukraine 2 years ago, it was perfumed. Peachy soap scent. The company didn't want to talk to me, kept gaslighting me. Later confirmed by the photo of the codes that it was an original and that their product indeed had "a little " fragrance to it. The brand was claiming there, on the packaging, that they product was fragrance - free

I've been trying LRP since I was 15 living in México, then I moved to USA and tried CeraVe because it was hard to get LRP especially my favorite products but lately the USA has been bringing more products, CeraVe is to simple and I absolutely hated everything but one product (the healing ointment) until I tried Eucerin and completely stop buying CeraVe. I have psoriasis and oily skin so it's hell to handle and the one time I used CeraVe under my eyes I developed 6 milia and had to remove them with Lacer 😡 I was furious, that had never happened to me using LRP. My favorite brads are LRP, Eucerin and Bioderma.

The niacinamide in the LRP Lipikar moisturizers is of interest to me, but I just can’t quit CeraVe. The texture and the value takes priority for me. I haven’t tried the LRP Cicaplast Balm, but for similar reasons, I’m not that motivated to buy it. You’re like me in that if a product isn’t too versatile or useful, it’s not sustainable for you to use. Maybe if I sustained a wound or was treating a healing scar, I’d have a use for it, but it’s not cheap. CeraVe Healing Ointment will probably do the job just fine. LRP for the win every time. I am a big fan of pharmacy brands with very simple formulas that are great for sensitive and dry skin. This is why it would make sense that I like cerave, but every time I try one of their products, I’m pretty disappointed. And it’s not because they’re simple and “boring”. I literally look for that in skincare. There’s just always an issue! Eg. The cerave cream has such an odd texture and feels dry on my skin once absorbed and gives me a tight sensation! I don’t know why. Everyone else reports it’s amazing for dry skin. I feel like a got a dodgy batch or something. The cerave pm moisturiser. Doesn’t moisturise at all and stung my face to high hell. The hydrating cleanser so far is the only thing I’ve found that I like. Has anyone else found this?
In terms of brands I think are amazing that are similar, I love cetaphil. Their moisturising cream feels so lovely on my skin and is a go to for me, and QV (which is essentially an Aussie equivalent to the Canadian and American alternative). I believe it’s sold internationally. Very similar petroleum based creams which I like. I particularly like QV’s “face” line which is every so slightly more fancy than the standard products with addition of niacinamide and slightly more elegant feeling formulas for face. But every LRP product I’ve tried so far, I’ve really loved. With the exception of their BB cream. That did not blend in well at all and if I recall correctly, very drying. I threw it out after a few uses .
I’m in Australia so products vary in options and formulas and both LRP and CERAVE are more expensive than they are on the other side of the world. Sometimes double the price but still relatively cheap.

I have the same experience with the cream and the pm lotion. I believe the pm lotion stings my skin because of the niacinamide, my skin cannot tolerate it especially on a leave on form. But the moisturizing lotion is my holy grail. It is light weight so I layer it like 3 times, it does not break me out and it gives me the perfect hydration. The moisturizing lotion and acne foaming wash is a staple for me!!!

There are definitely winners in each category but I agree, the SPF's from LRP are superior!

Third video of your’s that I’ve watched this morning. New subscriber now. :)
Definitely going to check out your eczema video… both of my kids have it terribly.
I also prefer the CeraVe moisturizing cream. I slather it on right out of the shower too. Application in damp skin is a total game-changer!

@@heartofmilkandhoney8096 is it bad I’m still trying to find one? 😅 I am pregnant now so it’s even harder for me! Before getting pregnant I was using the cetaphil redness relief night moisturizer and I really loved it! Had to stop when pregnant. That’s one of the only ones that hasn’t broken me out. Still on the hunt for a pregnancy safe one!

@Rudi Berry - so you use the CeraVe Healing Ointment at night after you've already applied Tretinoin and your moisturizer? I get extremely dry around my mouth as well and under my nose with Tretinoin. I've learned to live with it at this point during the 2nd day after Tretinoin - I'm coming up on one year of using Tretinoin and I also use it every 3 nights. Thank ya much!

    • @RudiBerry
      @RudiBerry  Před 3 lety +1

So I use it that way yes but only on my OFF tretinoin nights. It can actually increase irritation if you use it over tretinoin

@@RudiBerry thank you! I think I'm going to try it and see if it works for my skin. My skin has definitely transformed from being oily to dry after being on Tretinoin for so many months.

My skin was naturally oily combo however, after use of tretinoin (0.5%) cream treatment, i have super sensitive, dry, and flaky skin so, what products would u recommend to use? As i hardly have high knowledge on skincare products and there are so many options on market that I struggle to find one that is suitable for me 🥲
