- One of the best all around G-SHOCKS, but it does have its weaknesses. BLUETOOTH Connectivity, ABC tech, GPS accurate and plenty of function and features, BUT can tough solar keep up with it. #thecovertcrow #casio #gshock #gshockmove #gshockrangeman #casiogprh1000 #gshockgprh1000

I’m happy with the 9400. ABC. Tough Solar. Perfect. But I like where the smartwatch gshock line is headed but it’s a “not yet” for me :-)
I have one now!and like it!It’s good in anyway ~can’t wait to see next one ❤
Thanks for watching
Great video.
I love this watch
Me too..cheers
Good watch
I have the yellow one and train heavily on it. This is what makes g-shock a g-shock. Every hard athletic trainer needs a casio.
How is the yellow holding up? I want to get one, but I'm afraid it'll be filthy in no time.
@crownandbrim9261 Avoid the mud and other weather related issues and you will be just fine...I use mine as a hard trainer on running trails
@@BJSteigner I'm more worried about that unforeseen kind of dirt like from it rubbing on my desk, or having a denim shirt "bleed" on it. That type of thing. I'm stubborn though, and the yellow is pretty damned cool.
@crownandbrim9261 no worries...under the sink to wash it off
Hello. Excellent review. But no Carbon Core Guard on the back, as mentioned in 06:50. Even so, It's an amazing watch.
You actually can change the watch faces on the watch without the app - settings (press and hold A button - watch settings - watch face.
Great video by the way
Thanks for watching, yes it was funny when someone reminded me of that, especially since I was aware from the GBDH2000 that I own..crazy!!
I have the yellow, I love it ❤
Is your yellow holding up pretty well? Dirt-wise?
I am not receiving notifications even watch is connected with phone. If anyone know how does that thing work please let me know
Thanks
Great review and production.
I’m in the market for a new one. I have the 9400. So you think this fits the same on the wrist? Haven’t found a store near me to try it on. Thanks in advanced.
Yeah it does, even though it’s a bit bigger than its predecessor BUT don’t forget about the GBDH2000 Move, activity tracking and was just updated to include trekking! Pretty much same watch but lighter and softer silicone strap. Thanks for watching
Can we track the watch using phone ?
I bought this watch but I bought the yellow one because it really caught my eye. Love the watch. Always been a g shock fan. However, in less than a week of normal wear, all the edges as well as the band turned black. It's like the yellow color rubbed off. I went to Reddit and apparently this is a common problem for lighter colored watches like this and there's nothing you can do about it. I am disappointed considering how much I paid for this watch 🤷🏽♂️
Have you tried any other the prescribed cleaning methods? Vinegar and baking soda paste? Rubbing alcohol? Etc. I'm dying to get a yellow one, but this is the exact thing I wanted to avoid.
@crownandbrim9261 I thought for sure a magic erasers would work but it wasn't because it was dirty it's just the paint or whatever it is just starts to wear off
@@wsgutierrez1 Isn’t the color solid all the way through? I didn’t know g shocks were painted
@crownandbrim9261 I don't know what they use to coat it. It's not like it stains anything. It just starts to wear off on the edges. Now it just looks dirty. No one else seems to notice and I always get compliments on it. For me it's just an ocd thing lol
New subscriber here, very informative video, in between the mudman and the rangeman. How's the battery life with the rangeman in normal day to day activities ?
Thanks for watching, it’s pretty good but even normal use of some features costs you power to have accessibility. The average duration is about 8-12 days I’ve found, could be more if you’re not using all the sensors, even with solar assist
just FYI, if it's indeed the same module as the GBD H2000 then it can't be topped up with tough solar as it's not "tough solar" but "solar powered". I owned one and despite being one full week under direct sun in battery saving mode, iti didnt get one battery bar. solar is not meant to recharge it but to help it discharge slower.
Thanks for watching and comment, I too have seen that, its gone back now since my GBDH2000 update
12:43 Settings - Watch Settings - Watch Face. Without casio app directly from the watch menu
You are the best, I gotta do a video edit, love it, learning something everyday here, thank you for info update..cheers, thanks for watching
The older rangeman gpr b1000, they should have put the mapping in there... the mapping (if i get lost in a new city or in the wild, take be back with backtrekking or breadcrum ....) and the hourly beep is the only thing that annoys me... why didnt they do that.... (and also maybe quad sensor like the Gulfmaster).
Do a video about accuracy of its sensonrs... specially gps and heart rate
Great idea, putting it together now, cheers, thanks for watching!
There you go...video up, thanks for inspiration, a little info about the sensors
can you deactivate the heart/blood/gps sensor and use as a normal watch?
Believe you can, thanks for watching, she's gone back, GBDH2000 pretty much does the same things except for TIDE, cheers
@@TheCovertCrow thanks
Is it normal when you're not wearing the watch for a little while that the display goes blank?
Yes...power save mode, you can adjust in the settings
@@TheCovertCrow Ty for responding back.
How is the watch if wearing 24x7 ? I currently wear a protrek which has a titanium strap and in the last 10 yrs and it has maybe been off my wrist for 10 days. So need to understand how the resin strap with hold up
U will still need to charge every 7-10 days depending how busy the sensors are, plus the GBDH2000 Move has trekking, so it’s a lighter watch and better deal. Personally I have packed them all in now for the Garmin Fenix 7X, I wanted the golf tracking and Solar power, battery can last a month
@@TheCovertCrow Thank you for your response, although my question was more towards the quality of the strap if worn constantly. Comparison with a metal band ?
По компасу в магазин ходить прикольно)))
how it's possible that the altimeter detects the altitude increasing if the cabin is pressurized???
Your guess as good as mine haha! Thanks for watching
I feel a Rangeman doesn’t need all the fitness mumbo-jumbo. I’ll stick to the 9400 models for now.
I hear ya, there's a lid for every pot and the 9400 is no slouch! Thanks for watching
@@TheCovertCrow You’re 100% right. That’s why we have options….tons of them! Good job on the video, sir.
Never seen a guy take off his watch so much in a car... Guess you didn't learn from the GBDH2000 fiasco! 😂
Right...I need to be better!! lol Needed to show it to my buddy in the flesh, next time they can see it on the wrist! Cheers lol, thanks for watching
It may be a great watch, but these MIP displays just look too much like a smartwatch to ME - even if they are of course easy to read (compared to old LCD negative displays).
It is awesome though...I'm not a big negative display, always liked positive displays better, maybe they will make one soon, but the watch is awesome with what it can do for you...cheers, thanks for watching
I don't think i will be buying the watch Until casio sort out the quality of the new watches have already had a problem with the software on my GWGB1000 it at to have an update just after I got it last year my other mud masters are put to getter a lot better also my mutch cheep casio watches are still running great after 20y
Nobody is doing their job is software development anymore. Good Software Developers used to perform "Peer Code Reviews" now all the little snoe-flakes get way too offended when someone more senior and experienced than them picks apart their woke coding. The world is screwed. Get used to it.
@@elzippo488 You're absolutely right. Most of these snow flakes are lazy too.
Its doesn't deserve gpr name..
Sadly, I found this watch to be a big disappointment. Too many button pushes to see data. A high powered microscope is needed to see the dual screen data.
Oddly enough I thought the same thing about the Garmin Instinct 2x SOLAR, the gshock grows on you but still I get it. I do have the MUDMAN, it's a keeper. Thanks for watching
Help deciding between this and Garmin Instinct 2 Solar?
@@gregbradburn2753 instinct 2x solar tactical, on sale Amazon, a lot more features and indefinite solar power
@@TheCovertCrow You are right that is why I dumped Garmin, I had the Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar and the Instinct 2x Solar and both were replaced by G-shock and the Garmin's found their way to E-bay which by the way there is not a big market for used Garmin's. I learned to hate Garmin and their crap app!
