- When you are local in a certain climbing area or about to become a local, it is not very frequent to climb onsight. I would either already know all the routes, or I would be making first ascents. Solitary Souls was one of those rare routes in Arco that I hadn't tried before. It was an apparent onsight challenge and a fantastic line on top of that! That is the reason why I was waiting for the right moment to give it a really good onsight try!

I love that there are always interviews with the local climbers in Adam's videos.
I totally agree! Alan watts' reaction to Adam on-sighting Just do it was my favorite moment of his whole channel. You could tell how deeply he was moved.
Adam puts out content that is about the passion for the sport and the experience instead of just for the difficulty. He can do a video about the history and experience of what is an “easy” route purely because he loves all aspects of climbing
Indeed... These last words were so smart and beautyful at the same time.
Alfredo: Gives a heartfelt history of the first send and his tribulations of conquering it.
Adam: "Yeah, I'm gonna onsight that."
Incredible route in such a beautiful place ! Adam's commentary is so calm, it sounds like he's narrating a peaceful walk through the woods !
Only Adam onsights a resistance-based 8c+ and wants to keep going after clipping the chains. Totally inspiring.
I love how Adam is so good that he feels like the crux is coming, but it never does.
I love how Adam talks about the "total crux" of the route at the same time as he absolutely crushes that section. What a legend.
"He inspires you to go home and train! But I'm 53, so I go home and face the reality" :D that was a very funny phrase there.
Adam, you always amaze me. Hopefully you can come to Chile again and try the new routes opened. Keep doing content like these porfavor.
Beautifully filmed and beautifully climbed!
Perfect video, that's what we need! Send with all the moves from the beginning to the top, with voiceover. Thank you! I felt the flow, and got a bit pumped just by watching it :)
The film crew for his videos are always getting excellent shots and angles
i onsighted my first 6c+ today and was so excited. now adam posted this and i feel a little bit less ecstatic 😅
Great job!!! You should be excited! :D
Amazing dude! Keep up the great work!!
Remember you aren’t competing against Adam. You are competing against who you were yesterday.
@@quest4adventure495 Nice 👍🏼
Jeez this is like a feature film. Amazing stuff Adam!
Theres so much beauty is the way he climbs. Pushing the limits of whats possible.
adam your contribution to climbing community is incredible. thanks for sharing your journey with us. your passion for climbing constantly shines through the videos and ur narrating.
Most climbers don't achieve that grade in their whole life. From the ones who do, most of them have to spend entire seasons training on the same route. For Adam it took a couple of minutes.
adam ondra be like: i was suprised that i had to try hard on this 8c+
I answered a few questions below this video. I did quite a bit of text with some thoughts, so I created a web update - adamondra.com/updates/my-climbing-more-about-feeling-or-thinking
Increbible as always Adam! The way you climb is beutiful, it seemed like you already climed it countless times before. Insane.
It's relatable hearing Adam say that he wanted to rest and then, after trying to rest, realizing the rest is not efficient.
I have been climbing walls for a long time before you were born, but I must say that I have never seen an amazing one like you before. Hello from that village in the Alps where sport climbing competitions were born.
I like the fact that Adam speaks sometimes obvious truths, nothing really new. But somehow I listen to his calming voice like it was a gospel. Another great onsight!
you make me inspire. i m a handicap person and i jusr inspire from your all hard working. thank you for sharing this awesome video. you are best.
love from India,.
When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
I love your videos, a beautiful route, a soothing commentary and aesthetic camera angles, absolutely amazing !
Icredible climb, interview and video. Such a pleasuring channel!
Another phenomenal video.
Love the production & the great stories that go along with them.
Incredible.
Just about everything about this video was amazing - music, camera, editing, Adam's climbing and narration. What a fitting route name - Solitary Souls!
Incredible to watch, that looked fantastic and how amazing that you still had the margin to even WANT to continue when there were no more moves left.
Shows just how much you enjoy your craft.
Love this videos, keep them coming ! You are a great person, Adam.
always love ur climbing vids Adam. stay healthy and strong brother
Well done Enjoy how you bring the history and heritage of a route into a storyline
Thanks for the experience. Loved every minute
Great onsight! Insightful to hear you contrast flow with security! Such a simple lesson, but difficult to embody.
Thanks for sharing the moment
Awesome video and what an inspiration this interview was
Pěkně Áďo!! Jaký vždy naprostá pecka. Velká gratulace 💪

Simply incredible!
fajny odcinek, pozdrawiam czeski przyjacielu! za niedługo 400 tysięcy
I agree fully, onsite feeling the flow of the whole route feels amazing
We will never see a climber like him in the history of climbing. The man is one of a kind!
Wolfgang Guellich
Stupendo! Complimenti!
Beautiful!
Epic! Very eloquent commentary too !
Amazing Clip! Bravo 👍
Yeah he's 53, climbing 8c+ and talking about the limits and the reality. If I'm climbing 8c+ at 53, I'll have overshot my goals multiple times
He did his first 9a in 2017 and another in 2021!
This guy is an absolute beast props to him
Such a great video!!
Beautiful looking route
So absolutely unfair man, my project is 7a. To onsight 8c+ is just incredible!
Adam may not even realize how he has inspired many. Believe in yourself and work hard anything is possible well done
gracias Alfredo gracias!!
This is Future of climbing!
Grandioso Adam !!
I know next to nothing about this sport but I’m all here for it.
Awesome climb!
Stunning route and send!
Exeptional climber and magnifiscent storyteller.
Just One Word: amazing
I like that he even practices his sounds and breathing
inimitabile!
Un Grande!
Chiudere una via, toccare la catena
Adilà del grado, è sempre una emozione unica
Un 8c+ on sight fatto da Adam sembra pure facile...via spettacolare da vedere, Adam pure...
Increíble, makinaaaa!!! 🦾🦿
Super video adame jsi dobrý lezec a taky doufám že nepřestaneš lézt
Doing a 8c+ onsight is so insane so that its hard to even imagine.
Nice job!
One of the best climbers of all time. Adam you're a true inspiration and exemplary of what it is to be a master.
*The best climber until someone else surpasses him in the future
@@gamma9141 of course but athletes stand on the shoulders of giants. they have much of their success going forward to those who came before. without those squirrelly el cap climbs in the late 50s there woudnt be a Honnold free solo if you get what im saying.
@@MultiFreakface agreed the current generation adds from prev generation and gets stronger and more technical, same goes for chess too. Adam Ondra and Magnus Carlsen are the best in their business, until someone from future surpass them. They both have defied their next generations from usurping them yet, so I consider them as generational and the best of all time.
@@gamma9141 Carlsen is a perfect example. A true master of the craft paving the way for the future. Which if I dare say may be Alireza in the chess world.
Amazing
Love it. Excellent video, Adam & team. Curious who hangs the draws for Adam’s onsight burns lol. Somebody’s gotta rappel in or get up it first, I guess.
My thoughts as well. I've never considered a pink point to be a onsight. I'm not trying to diminish the achievement. I'm just curious how the whole process happens.
@@FlatOutFE < simply a rappel
@@FlatOutFE For a lot of these hard routes that have been long term projects there are draws permanently hanging there already.
Probably on the route they are already there, the route seems not so overhanging but it traverse a lot, it will be difficoult to remove it
Yes the route is prepped by the team prior to the attempt. I know Adam has even had mates tell him how the holds feel before the attempt. I'm sure he could rap it and place the draws if he wants.
awesome sent!
Bella questa, bella d'avvero
Ohhhh damn here we go
AMAZING
Such a beast
Díky, ty české titulky ;)
Truly sensei
Άντε γεια βιντεάκι. Amazing stuff.
2:00 Is there a typo in the caption? He says he is exhausted from an approach that is less than 30 minutes. That's a standard approach where I'm from
Nope, he said 30 minutes. It probably is very overhanging to get there.
well, consider that the man was probably in his late 40s
@@martipg3866 and climbing 8C+? I think he’s in good enough shape
Amazing, all the way around! 🤩🙏👌💪
Chapeau
Saludos Adam
What a monster.
One day Adam you need to climb down a wall instead of up it!! Outdoor/Indoor surprise us!
🔥🔥🔥
Номер 1!что еще добавить?
well donezo alonzo
Awesome vid!
Just curious as i'm just starting with sport climbing, how does one get quickdraws set up for an onsight?
I imagine one has to bring a strong friend who could more or less climb the route too, or maybe with breaks in between? Are there other options?
either that or in case it is possible to hike up from behind a friend can rappel down and put the quickdraws in.
Menuda charla nos das adam
For those wondering how he does it, it is 6 grades under his limit. It is like a 7a climber onsighting a 5C. Fully admirable, fully understandable.
Adam is so cool ngl.
No limits💪💪💪
Where are the screams!!?? So beautiful route Adam!
It was too easy, no screams needed
