- Sky News host Caroline Di Russo says Labor had “big tough talk” about bringing spending under control but has shown “none” of it prior to the last election.
“You listen to the prime minister, and you can tell … he does not even believe his own BS; I am not sure why he expects the rest of the country to believe it,” she said.
“Big tough talk about … how they were going to bring spending under control, there has been none of that.”

The trouble is that when something is working well, such as border control and the alcohol controls with indigenous parts of the country, the first thing that happens when Labor gets into power, it must make a stuff up of what has worked before. This applies to the education system, hospitals, emergency services (Victoria), child care, the NDIS, housing, immigration and migration and the list just keeps going.

I think once a year politicians should be put on low wages or a pension and let them survive for the 2 weeks and let’s see what happens then. No govt cars, no free accomodation, pay for their own petrol and bills and do their own grocery shopping.
I am on an aged pension and I live quite comfortably due to the generous pension system in Australia, then again I don’t gamble or smoke, but I do drive a car, have air conditioning in my home and even manage to save money.
@@colinyates7485 last month on my disability pension I got $23 with all the normal bills, even so, with the money your getting a politician would find it completely impossible to live off for 2 weeks like we somehow manage to do. My best pay this year so far was $150. Just because we can do it certainly doesn’t mean politicians can
