  • Sky News host Rowan Dean has commended Opposition leader Peter Dutton for his “genius move” on announcing his nuclear plan which will “win” them the next federal election.
Mr Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear plan last week.
“In my opinion, it was a genius move - it is completely throwing the left, Labor and the Greens and the Teals into a quandary,” Mr Dean said.
“They have no idea how to argue about this.
“I am tipping it now … the Coalition will win the forthcoming election, and this was the trump card they played.”

These turbines will sit idle, contributing to chemical pollution and environmental degradation on a scale never witnessed in Australia. Here's hoping that Dutton has his ducks in a row with those sites, because Labor are telling a very different story. You can bet they will be out working to wreck any & all progress that will give the Coalition any momentum.
It's also good that P.D. hasn't over reacted to Labor's scare campaign, and done a good job at staying mature and sensible. The contrast between him and Albo is there for all to see see and decide upon come the election.
IMHO P.D. needs to conscript a smart strategist to find his way through the mine field that Labor will be laying. It'll take something special to kick Labor out of office. But this has the makings of something that just might rid us of the Fool on the Hill.

The way the current governments conduct the “business of government” is at odds to the way the Menzies format was conducted and would be seen as radical in those days as this movement to the left would be seen to be at odds with mainstream thinking of the time and probably still is.
I wrote on this blog about the 4 P’s which I expanded to include another P.
A punce is a person who purposefully and deliberately does something poorly but is actually good at it. \
The 5P’s being the press, the politicians, the professors, police and punces are all racing to the left while the people still believe in the Menzie ethos.
One has to understand that a significant percentage of our population gave their lives in two wars for freedoms that have been systematically destroyed by 'do-gooders".

Standard one-megawatt nuclear power station cost about $8.65 billion. Multiply it by the number of plants needed for our electricity needs. It's all taxpayer's money. And then you have to wait 8-10 years with inevitable cost overruns. Thanks but no thanks.

South Australia has 70% installed capacity of renewables as well as gas and diesel. They not only have the highest electricity prices in the country it is also the most unreliable. During a recent wind drought with overcast weather they couldn't draw on the interstate interconnectors because each state was dealing with its own shortages. Almost all of their electricity was coming from gas and diesel at that time and on one late afternoon of those days they didn't have any electricity coming from wind, solar or batteries. SA is the reason that they are starting to worry about gas shortages.
Most of Tasmania's energy comes from hydro but in times of drought and reduced water supplies they too have to turn to gas.
The ACT may have contracted to green energy companies but they most definitely are not running on 100% green energy. They draw their electricity from the same grid as us, there is not a separate grid for renewable energy. They suffer the same shortages as we do if the wind isn't blowing and the sun isn't shining. Their 100% renewables claim is BS. Hasn't happened anywhere in the world on a commercial scale.
