Watch a full tutorial as a 2009 Dodge Avenger will have a License Plate Backup Camera installed. We will be using the equivalent of the Pyle PLCM10 camera system.
This video applies to Dodge Avenger models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, complete installation, wiring, and testing.

You could also use the rear backup light as a trigger wire for some people who don't want to get to confused

Will the license plate light where you fished your wiring through be sacrificed?
Just installed the exact same camera in my Avenger. One question for you. I left most of the extra wiring like inside where my license plate light is. Will that be an issue like if it rains? I did wrap all of them up with electrical tape where they were exposed.
I recently ordered an Android head unit that has a can-bus already attached. Do I still need to run a wire to the trigger wire or will the can-bus take care of that automatically?

14/16 gauge butt connectors (blue kind). Same concept for a dodge magnum, yes!
Is it best to use the 18 gauge wire or 16 gauge wire to extend the purple and white reverse wire?
It is just a trigger wire, 18 gauge is totally fine.
You said 3:57 look for a white and tan wire and then you said 4:08 you used a tan and green one. So which one is it bc I have both 😅
My back up camera came with a small red wire that comes out from the input, should I just attach that to the ignition switch wire?
It can be used for a few different purposes. Usually i attach this wire to the reverse gear trigger wire on the radio and attach the other end to the same location where we tapped into the reverse light for power for the camera. This avoids the need to search through that bundle of wires @ 3:53 and makes much more of a cleaner install.
My pioneer stereo harness has a green wire labels parking break. Am I suppose to tap into parking break?
Sometimes Pioneer will limit what you can do if the parking brake isn't applied. I suggest connecting it to the ground of the parking brake, or, using a microbypass unit so you don't miss out on some features.

Nope. Unless you can rig your Stock Avenger Touch Screen to take a RCA video input, or if it takes a back up camera signal. Usually just easier to replace the radio and add a screen later.

How do you get the wire from the license plate light over to the taillight
I used a bent wire coat hanger and some electric tape to attach the cable.
I installed the my camera works perfect!!! Unfortunately my left turn signal does not flicker. I get a rapid flicker and only the front left turn signal works. Any idea how I can fix that?
Check to make sure the bulb is completely plugged in and not loose, also check your wiring. Flickering indicates either a short or burned out bulb
Try purchasing a flasher
Sounds like you may have cross wired and blew out the bulb at the rear. Try another bulb cause that rapid front signal light is because usually the rear bulb is bad.

If I tap the camera option on my head unit, can I see the feed from the camera without being in reverse?
If you wire your camera to accessory, so the camera is running when the vehicle is on, yes. If you only power your camera on the reverse light alone, it will only work in reverse.

@@gaiusnormanyo yes, as long as you still have your reverse trigger wire hooked up, it will also automatically cycle over to reverse image when backing up.
