    Watch a full tutorial as a 2009 Dodge Avenger will have a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. This is the "non Amplified" model of this Avenger. If you have the amplified version, you will need a different wiring adapter (See below). In addition, this install requires a steering wheel control adapter, and a Pioneer parking brake bypass.
    This video applies to Dodge Avenger models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, complete installation, wiring, and testing.

    ALRIGHT ! I just installed a cheap but functional touch screen radio in my cheap 2010 Dodge Avenger. Radio cost $45 and came with two remotes and a back up camera. It actually works. Couple things. Make sure you order the aftermarket harness for your car. If it doesn't come with an antenna adapter, get one of those too. When you pull out the factory radio like you see here, they antenna is the WHITE one. There is a yellow one, don't know what it is, don't care. These cheap radios have one big problem...the instructions. You will find the aftermarket harness will leave you with several unused wires, like a blue one and a couple more. Those are for power antennas, amps etc. Don't worry..BUT make sure you connect the yellow wire as that's the one that keeps power to the radio when you shut it down so you don't lose your settings. AND NOW THIS. The radio I bought came with the camera cable with RCA jacks at either end and a short red wire just dangling at either end. Instructions said "you no use these red wires so no mind". Alright but I used them. Where? OK there is a pink wire in the harness that has to be part of the camera operation when you put your car into reverse. INSTEAD OF cutting into the harness under the carpet, I ran the cable to the rear and hook the camera power cord right up to the left hand taillight backup light. WHY NOT! Now, beside the red power wire for the camera, you have to hook that PINK wire up somewhere. SO instead of running another cable, I hook the "you no use these wire" at the backup light along with the camera power wire. Up front where you plug the cable into the radio, THAT's where I hooked up the pink wire. A lot of these radios will be different, maybe each brand and certainly each brand of car. The cheap radio sounds good, it pairs up with my android phone AND has a back up camera. All told with the dash kit, and the harness kit, it totaled around $70...I didn't charge myself for labor. If you can check the measurement of the opening. This brand was about 1/8" too narrow top to bottom so the plastic face plate had to be trimmed a little. Just the width of the radio so you don't have a gap on the bottom left and right were the mounting kit has the "filler" panels on either side.

Funny thing, I went to best buy for my parts but instead of helping me, the guy tried to sell me on a whole new radio and parts, thanks to your video, I knew I didnt need. Now I got a whole new project. So here is the question; Can you install fog lights and a auto light switch on a 2013 dodge avenger se. Could you confirm, if you don't plan to play DVD while driving (or at all) you can skip doing the bypass module correct? Also how do you identify if your vehicle is amplified vrs non-amp?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před 6 lety

      Yep, you can skip the bypass, however, i still suggest hooking the parking brake wire to you brake because it may unlock a other potential options in your system settings. Generally, the Boston Acoustic branding would be somewhere in the car, or a similar 3rd party company to indicate the amplified system or not.

      Run that red power wire down to the cigarette wire. Some or most aftermarket wire harnesses don't include the power in the harness housing. Looking at the fusebox under the hood... There will be a 10 or 15a 2prong fuse that is inserted in to what looks like should be a 3 prong fuse. Just take the fuse out and insert it into the other side of the same 3prong. (Basically just sliding it over) Cigarette lighter still works but now it will turn off when you turn the car off!
