Loving the content gents! Don’t be intimidated by the sealed transmission, it’s a lot easier than you think, and well worth it! This dipstick is replaced by a fill and check bolt on the trans case and sump. The fluid is not ‘lifetime’ as Toyota suggests. It’ll last the service life of the car, no doubt, but all fluids break down and degrade over time. This transmission isn’t any different, and should be serviced to prolong life and reduce wear. Just do a few drain and refills, measure what comes out, and put the same amount back in. I made a long and thin hose/funnel combination and fed it into the fill bolt via the engine bay to refill the trans. I noticed significantly smoother shifts, as mine had 240,000kms on the original fluid! But hey, if it’s still shifting nice, just send it 😆

These vehicles dont have a dipstick for checking oil or refilling. Theres a bolt on the side of the trans that you remove and is used for refilling the fluid. I’m a Toyota tech if you go ahead and remove both drain bolts at the bottom of transmission oil pan to drain it then there should be a fill plug on the side of the transmission with the letters SW on it normally on the rear where the tail end is . The small plug is your level check on the bottom closet to the engine . To remove all the fluid you remove that plug and inside the hole there is tube that you can remove with an Allen key that well let you drain it completely. After you pump a few quarters into the trans into that SW plug on the side until it drips from the level check plug place drain plug back on then turn on vehicle waiting for it to get to temp then remove level check plug and SW plug fill again Until fluid begins to drip. And you are ready to go👍🏻😁

Its not that hard to do that transmission fluid change. Put vehicle on lift or stands. You unbolt the pan. Then see how much oil it had by putting it in a measuring bucket. Remove filter, clean up the magnets, pan and mating surfaces. Put pan back in. Now you reference the oil in your bucket to what the manufacturer says in your manual. Gives you an idea of how much to use and how much your transmission is leaking/burning. Unbolt a 24mm bolt it has on the side for filling. Use a pump to put fluid in. Re install 24mm bolt. Once that is done, you bring the transmission to operational temperature by driving it around. Come back and place the vehicle on lift or stands. With the vehicle on, and in drive, undo the 24 mm bolt and there will be some coming out. Careful it is gonna be hot. Once it flows out of the 24 mm hole slow or minimal oil comes out, put the 24mm back on and your done. Definitely don't belive toyota on that lifetime oil bs. Toyota states oil change every 70k but I like to do mine every 35-50k and its plenty of dirty every time.
