I'm 43. I tried forcing to become an extrovert, or being something I'm definitely not. Coming to terms as a bipolar introvert really has put things in perspective for me. I grew up around an extrovert family in which I didn't excel well.... AT ALL. Don't try to be something your not even if it's because your family tells you "You need to get our more," and so on. Embrace the way God made you. Your life will be much more peaceful. Good luck to all of you.

Can you do one about ambiverts? Not many people know about them. I’ve tried researching if I’m an introvert or extrovert but I realized I have both traits of an introvert and an extrovert, and I found another “vert” ambiverts! They are a mix of an introvert and extrovert!

Yes, I’m an introvert without a doubt. I loath and detest parties, I hate noisy venues and prefer working alone. The phrase ‘lets get into groups’ at college or university brought me out in a cold sweat.
Even as a child, I preferred solitary games and even then I didn’t like parties. My brother and sister were sporty and liked socialising. I preferred staying at home and reading.

Heh, I knew for a while I was an introvert but I love watching videos like this. Helps me re-center myself and find reassurance that being an introvert isn't mental illness, it's just another way of finding social satisfaction. To all the people who hate parties as much as I do I'm with you. It's all my coworkers want to do now; go to the local watering hole; get piss roaring drunk; and play stupid drinking games that I LOATHE. It's nice to see there are people out there that share my sentiments cuz sometimes it feels like I'm the crazy one in this group.

I'm braver around people who don't know me well. I can chat and chat well. But I feel like a child and a failure around people who know me well because I have always been shy around others and awkward especially when I was younger in particular, so those who know me know I was like that. The other day I went around with family to see friends of the family, and inside I was screaming to get home, though everyone was nice.

Maybe it's because those people don't know your personality so you can be whoever you want with them, but you can't be yourself around your family because they see you a certain way and they project that view of you to you.

*I'm hitting impossible social anxiety levels right now* also i don't like talking To People In General. Nor do i like going outside.
But anxiety and introversion are different things. Anxiety is not okay, you should treat it. You should relax and take some time for yourself. Introvert doesn't mean shy. Social anxiety doesn't mean introversion.
@Matt Ceretto If you actually took the time to follow your own advice, you’d see that an introvert is someone who is reserved in social situations and draws their energy from being alone. It doesn’t mean social anxiety. I’m an introvert, and I know enough to pretend in conversations. I don’t fear them, I simply prefer being alone.

I'm definitely an ambivert. I love talking to a ton of people but individually, hanging out, I can work in teams or individually. However, I crash hard after being extroverted. If I spend too much time outside my room i get a baaddd stomach ache.

Me too, I related partially to all signs here, except having weekends without plans (because of my work, I spend a lot of time in my house, so I actually need to hang out with friends a Friday or a Sunday, since I wokr Saturdays), but emphasis on "partially". Some times I get crazy if I'm talking to too much people, sometimes I get crazy if I spend more than 3 days alone.
It’s no longer a secret that I’m an introvert myself. I don’t really like being around people most of the time and I’d always prefer to just be on my own. I don’t really have a whole lot of friends, only three people whom I feel kinda closest to and understood my own personality.

i’m a person who has social anxiety and is an introvert.
i feel so bad of it because my parents are mad at me for not talking to people or hanging out with people. i always cancel plans with my friends and rather to sit alone in my room all day. my friends must think i’m an idiot but i get really anxious of being around people, what if they judge me? what if they think i’m weird? i usually brust into tears before going to somewhere because i’m scared and it’s just so annoying being like this. my mom always screams at me because i’m not like her, an extrovert. my mom keeps saying that i can become an extrovert and “heal” from social anxiety by talking more to peoples but i don’t think that is how it works. i feel so bad for always just being quiet and watching netflix in my bed. i’m sad :/

This channel has so many videos about introversion. I have watched maybe all of them, and especially rewatched the ambivert videos a couple of times; but after watching this video, I have finally accepted that I really am an introvert.
I opened these all up to my girlfriend of 11 years, she said she knew about it ever since we were still as close as just childhood friends. I just realized how blessed I am to have her all my life. She knew how and when to push it or encourage me to travel together, or to attend events and such, but that my favourite dates are when we just stay at home on weekends or holidays and maybe watch movies together or let me read my light novels as she watches her own movies, as long as we eat good food together and snuggles and cuddles all day long.
I always thought I was an extrovert because I'm not shy and I assumed that introverts were shy. I have recently discovered that I am a true introvert, and it explains so much. I have ALL the signs of a true introvert.
1) It depends, Im usually only comfortable doing This with people I’m close to. If it’s with someone that I barely know, I just stay quiet most of the time.
2) I like relaxing and chilling at my house on Weeknds, but going out once in a while is nice 😊
3) So true. I cannot stand group projects, I would much rather work alone because I would be Abel to do it my own way without people interfering.
4) So relatable. Socializing with strangers or people I’m not close to drains me so much. I would only Go To a fun Social Event If I had a Close friend with me.
5) I love doing my hobbies in my own time. I love drawing, listening to The Weeknd, playing Roblox, and watching TV. Having quality time to myself is nice, whenever someone disturbs me while I’m in The Zone, It annoys me sm for disturbing the peace.
6) Very true. I cannot go a Day without talking about The Weeknd. I always talk about How hAwT and cute I think he is (he is my celeb crush 🤭). Whenever a The Weeknd Song plays on the radio I scream at the top of my lungs and pretend he’s giving me a free concert LOL. I always create weird scenarios about what I would do if I ever got the chance to meet him, I CANNOT LIVE A TRULY HAPPY LIVE WITHOUT MEETING THIS MAN IRL. I also pretend to hug him at night bc I have a blanket of him 😍. I simp for him so hard help-
Well, I’m an introvert all day long based on this video lol although my work involves presenting to large groups, go figure!! And yeah it exhausts me but I love it!! I think I describe myself as an introverted extrovert, or an introvert trying to be an extrovert. I can relate to all the points here. Superb video thank you ❤️

I didn’t know what even a introvert was until I watched this and I actually show all 7 signs. I’ve always preferred being alone ever since I was a kid. The thing I hate though is that I can to someone about cars all day (I’m a huge car enthusiast) and I feel like I don’t give others a chance to talk about themselves and I feel bad for it every time. Thank you for teaching me something new

I am an introvert(also have anxiety). I like to stay alone all the time even from my family idk why i love them (ig they dont) but i feel like if I say something it can upset them and they start yelling at me soo yea but i have been an introvert for as long as i can remember (i am getting more quiet and introverted because of this lockdown lol). I also love solitary hobbies like reading, listening to music, making games,drawing etc. I also have a lot of trouble meeting new people ( i find being around a crowd or meeting new people engery draing). I also have a fake friend (which broke my heart and i dont trust new people even more, she was my only friend) so i made up my own world and started living in it but my parents once saw me talking to myself (which i do a lot and that really helped with my vocab and communication skills) and started making fun of me for that (also one of the resons i like to stay away from them, yea and my whole family are extroverts :') and make humiliates for me for being an introvert, they are emotionally and physically abusive too) I also am very quiet at school and even if i got the right answer before anyone i cant decide to give it or not thinking if its wrong and someone else ends out giving it which make me angry lol and then my mother who keeps an eye on me even when i am doing classes starts yelling at me for not giving it (i have online school btw) I also feel panicked when someone is hoovering around me while doing work, but internet and especially this channel has helped me recognize who i am and be proud of it. I love you all have a nice day/night and hope u are alright . (OOF this got too long and senseless, i just lashed out what came in my mind first but took up a lot of courage :) )...

In another video from this channel they say introverts make great sales people which actually resonates with me, but it kind of the opposite of what they’re saying here which is more about being shy than being an introvert
1. Yes. Especially if I'm with people I don't know well, I'd rather pick out a person and engage in conversation with them than bounce back and forth between everyone in the group.
2. Also yes. The only plans I like making are with my friends, and whichever day I don't spend with them, I would rather stay at home and work on my own stuff than go out and do anything else.
3. Oh, yes. Up until labs in college, I hated group projects.
4. I do go to parties to meet people, but only for work purposes (I'm a lawyer and connections are super important). Before law school, I would only go to parties if I knew someone else who was going.
5. Yup. Reading, writing, walking, bird watching, Pokemon GO, exercise bike/elliptical, baking, handicrafts, watching TV, and Let's Plays on CZcams.
6. Me 100%. I take forever deciding what to wear every morning, and if I go out to eat, unless I knew in advance where we were going and I thought about it earlier in the day, I take forever to make up my mind.
7. Again, me 100%. Ask any of my friends or anyone in my family; when I get into something, I can talk about it for hours on end; my mom got really annoyed by this when I was a kid.
Conclusion: I am as introverted as they come.
Surprisingly, this video made me realize i'm an extrovert.
