I'm actually an "outgoing introvert", which basically means i love interacting with people and making new friends, but at the end of the day social interaction will always drain me and i still prioritize alone time, and it's kind of hard for me to be social if i'm not already with a few close friends (for example, in a class where i have no friends i won't speak to anyone, but in one where i have a couple i'll be super chatty and outgoing)
I have seen 21 years of my life being and introvert, shy, staying away from people, not attending any parties. Hate parties. Hate gathering. Hate relatives . Hate to talk to anyone. Love being alone. But family and friends hate me because of this. Making fun of me.
"The biggest mistake an introvert can make is trying to be an extrovert." I felt that💔 . . . . . . Edit I somehow developed myself to being extrovert but the most thing that I'll ever advice u all, "You must accept who u really are bc that's the last thing that u'll be proud of." I realized that I don't need others' hate sayings to me just to pleased them. I learned that when u became true to yourself & to people around u, others would love you u. Not that I'm saying all would love you bc there's no such thing in world that all would be loving u, it's impossible but you'll be happier with yourself if u start giving yourself no care to what other's are saying about u.
Being Introverted doesn’t mean that they’re nerds who read books all day. Edit:A lot of people are replying that they're introverts and they read books and alot are saying they're introverts but they don't read books. What I meant with the og comment was that reading books all day doesn't make you introvert. You could read all the books you want but your personality type is a diffirent thing. Edit 2:You guys still don't get it
I'm an introvert and people think that I have attitude and ego but that's not true nobody even understand that what's going on my mind.. I study in class 9th and I don't speak a lot.. Nobody is my friend, nobody talks with me.. I just feel lonely 🙂.... I had told my secrets to the one whom I trusted, but she went and spread them here and there 💔.. I adore a didi in class 12th I mean she is my favourite even she knows abt that, ki mujhe woh achi lgti hai...but still I'm scared to talk with her idk why 😢.. when I start feeling comfortable with someone then mujhe aisa lgta hai ki woh insaan bore ho rhe hai mujhse isliye main baat nhi krti fir and then unhe bhi koi frk nhi padhta... Sometimes I hide my tears , and then people come and ask what happened then I say nothing I'm fine... Nobody even said a once that tell me what happen you can trust me.. nobody ever said this 💔 I don't even have my mom and dad 💔 Sometimes I be like please God take me to them.. then I just think abt my bro and sis 😢.... I can't even tell all this to someone but here I can b'coz nobody can judge me
What I hate about being an introvert, is that everyone would think that I’m sad or really lonely. But in reality I just wanna stay away from people and actually have a moment to be by myself.
@@ioanaberbece8137 Yeah it's kinda annoying how people instantly assume that you're depressed or something if you're alone instead of socializing all the time
As an introvert, I always apologize for not being able to work with others, not being able to just talk to someone whenever I'd like or being assertive and this really made me realize that I shouldn't view my introversion as a weakness but rather a perspective that some people won't experience which I'm happy with because after spending a year trying to be an extrovert, it kind of messed with me in a way and I will start getting across to people that I don't want my introversion/quietness to be "cured".
Why don't we learn something so important as that in school? It would have helped me a lot to not feel like an alien.. I hope this video helps kids today to understand that: You are okay, just the way you are. Thank you, Jay! 💙
Same bro. I am happy till lockdown but now schools open and my classmates again making fun of me. And the other boys just humiliates me to put better impression on girls. And I am depressed now.
When I use to be kid parents thought being quite is good things that what kid should be in front of elders. So I thought to be good kid and trying my best to be quite. Once I grew up I found out that I am an introvert. But then also I knew there is disadvantages being introvert and also advantages being introvert. So even being extrovert also have same benefit and problem. But the most important is that never stay silence when you need to speak. "Be who you are!"
Teachers: be quite. How many time i need to tell you. Why i never said this to her(me) Me: because I'm shy I hate when teachers are saying this to my classmates. Im always blushing.
But whole world thinks different. And I don't "love this". Society so far needs to understand introversion. When you have a job interview you need to be an extravert e.t.c. We are not understood. And I oftenly fall into a trap of thinking that something is wrong with me.
I was always the one left out because of being so quiet in class but nobody understood what being an Introvert is all about so I thank you for this video!
I am an introvert that's why nobody wants to talk to me I am always alone in my class , I am an introvert and talk less that's not mean I don't want to talk but people will never understand introvert people 😒 I am always quite because I hate fake drama like when people are in group they will always shouting and laughing loudly etc... They are pretending like how they are happy in their life 😒
Most introverts got burned hard by pretending to be an extraverts, cause they thought there was something wrong with them and they wanted to "fit in" and be liked by others. Accept your true nature. Introverts are the coolest
I really hope society starts accepting more introverted behavior as time goes on, maybe then we'll have peace instead of the usual bullying and insecurities.
Actually I don't know what to say... I was just crying while watching the videos because the struggles of the guy at the video are actually similar to mine. I have always find it difficult to get inserted in a group of people in particular at school. But the struggle increases in University, when i have to find a group for the project work, the option were two: get inserted in a group of people where all the work is going to be done by me, or doing the project work alone. Even, when i tried to starting talking to people at my age, i don't know what to talk about, and they make me feel I'm weird, because of my interests, that differs from the majority of people at my same age. Even at the question of "what are you doing this weekend?", I usually invent something and lie, saying that i go out with some friend of mine, when actually I don't have friends! And actually i want a friend with which i could share my interests, my thoughts, my experiences, my time, share with him/her activities, but it might seem strange, but i don't know from where to start!
Sorry to be vulgar but you need to learn to not give a fuck and love yourself. If you spent your weekend locked in your room reading a book, don't be afraid to say that to people. And if they judge you for that and call you boring then just shrug and move on. You don't have to please everyone. We're different and society will never understand us, the sooner you accept this the easier it gets to realize how special you are trust me.
Seriously I dont see the big deal its literally so easy to just ignore other people why would you listen to people you dont feel like talking to or arguing with
Same. Its even a reason that my bf almost breaks up with me.. I'll be like "hey lets play a game" and he is like "ight only if you talk more" and we fought alot, I say that I really cant talk much,he doesnt believe me tho
2:15 : this is exactly what my mom and my sister needs to hear . I don't really engage with people unless its necessary so my mom and my sister will always be like ''you'll be ok once you grow up" . Like dude , just because i don't talk unnecessarily doesn't mean that something's wrong with me , i am ok !!!
As an introvert since childhood thankfully I was not bullied ever in school or college. Even those so called bully or stronger looking guys from my classroom were good to me. Maybe I got lucky or what I don't know.
@@vamshitarun4399 Yeah I was silent but not that dangerious kind of silent kid. I was good at exam and I kinda used to help them in exam by showing my answers. Maybe that's why they were not bad to me.
I am discovering that being an introvert is my super power. It really is a struggle now that things are returning to what it once was. The lock down and isolation was a dream.
The quietest person in the room gets the most attention therefore without saying a word he is the loudest in the room. All eyes on him and if he ever chose to say just one sentence it would hold more value and worth than the other guy who thinks he is the loudest in the room.

Don’t let them affect you. Once you embrace your introversion and shine that light. No one will judge you and when they do, you should have the attitude “i don’t give a f**k”
I’m an introvert and as a child, was shy because of a lazy eye and we all know how cruel people can be. I had my eye surgically corrected at 16, giving plenty of time to develop a lot of insecurity. I was very athletic but not into team sports; I rode my 12 speed 10 miles a day after school, swam, hiked, liked rock climbing and in winter ice skating was always on the menu! My husband is an extrovert and doesn’t understand my need for quiet and calm; he truly thinks there’s something wrong with me. So I showed him the Myers-Briggs test that my Aunt, a qualified Therapist, gave me years ago. He’s since changed his mind, thankfully. He was concerned that I was becoming isolated after our move to a new town…which I admit, I was missing Phoenix and our home there. Being an introvert can open you up to times of feeling overwhelmed, like in stores or busy restaurants. In that situation I need James to lead me in, especially if it’s low light because I can’t see well in that situation. ❤
"The biggest mistake an introvert can make is try to be an extrovert" I felt that My parents always tell go out and play with them (somewhat forcing me to become an extrovert) I will be very happy if they understand me
Yeah... My mom puts me into social events often and I just hate it... I'm just there and not talking to anybody and I want to go home and be alone. But my parents force me to being an extrovert... And they even said that I'll go to some psychiatrist so they will learn me communicate more... I can't understand why they do this
See brother being introvert have nothing to do with playing outside which is quite natural I remained introvert and I still played it's a different kind of joy
I watched Susan Cain video just before this . . It’s so overwhelming to watch these videos . . I read so many comments, realised one thing that there are so many introverts like me that have been bullied and made fun of . . It’s very emotional to and a roller coaster to experience the brutality of the world, yet being so sensitive and kind to not hurt anyone back cause you already know what it feels like to feel that void of not being understood for the way you are . . The surprise is that an introvert will rarely do the same with anyone what he or she went through because of the fact we have the gift of intuition and the understanding and being the big person . . But then it feels really heavy also sometimes . . !! 🥺 This is probably the first time I’m expressing myself like this . . But the fact is I have been through situations like these and I felt so emotionally overloaded . . Thank you so much for this video Jay . . Keep rising ✨✨
@@kidmundane8029 Yes. An introvert just means someone who recharges when they're alone rather than around other people. An introvert can be the life of the party and know how to socialise but still prefer to be at home. An introvert can also be nonsocial and shy, there's many different types tho that is the stereotype when people think of the word introvert. Bottom line is introverts get energy from being alone/in a place they think is comfortable and extroverts get it from being around people.
You kids are lucky to live in this day and age where you can watch encouraging and helpful videos like this. When I was your age we didn't have CZcams and nobody told us stuff like this. We grew up being told there was something wrong with us and many of us are still screwed up to this day because of it. ☹️
Same, except next month it'll be 40 years. For the first half of my life I felt bad about it, thinking I needed to "fix" myself and try to become something I'm not. Then I got tired of the frustration and accepted and embraced who I am as I am. It took a lot of effort, but I am more comfortable with myself than I have ever been. I still get the odd "you're so quiet" comment, it's still a little triggering but I just shrug it off.
I have throat problems and social anxiety I think so then it's so hard for me to speak up, talk to other people that I'm not close with normally, and participate. And then that results in getting bad grades for participation and I feel like it just isn't fair
I am a great example for this video I used to be introvert until my college life but when things started to change in my life i am proud to say “I too loved being extrovert” :) I like your speech a lot

being an introvert, the only problem i have is when i am left with a group of strangers..i feel awkward and nervous when i am thrown into a new environment but when i get comfortable then i don't have any issue in socializing.. its just that i need time to get comfortable with new people and new situations.. another thing is that i need some alone time to recharge myself ..i can't be with people for a long time because i get drained out... i don't like small talks and i don't enjoy talking just for the sake of talking... i like expressing myself to people who really listens... when someone does not listen or don't pay attention, i don't speak at all

I somehow developed myself to being extrovert but the most thing that I'll ever advice u all, "You must accept who u really are bc that's the last thing that u'll be proud of." I realized that I don't need others' hate sayings to me just to pleased them. I learned that when u became true to yourself & to people around u, others would love you u. Not that I'm saying all would love you bc there's no such thing in world that all would be loving u, it's impossible but you'll be happier with yourself if u start giving yourself no care to what other's are saying about u.

Most introverts doesn't take avoiding that seriously but it makes a deep mark in heart for a long time
I’m an introvert and as a child, was shy because of a lazy eye and we all know how cruel people can be. He was concerned that I was becoming isolated after our move to a new town…which I admit, I was missing Phoenix and our home there. It’s very emotional to and a roller coaster to experience the brutality of the world, yet being so sensitive and kind to not hurt anyone back cause you already know what it feels like to feel that void of not being understood for the way you are . .
