- The fall of 1990 was truly special for MLB. But it involved a huge sacrifice in order for it to happen.

I would very much like it if you subscribed for my somewhat funny sports videos. - Sport
Playing on the same field as your dad is great, but robbing a catch in the outfield from your own dad has got to be the pinnacle individual experience in sports
And then just jogging back to the dugout like it was nothing.
A nice public troll lol. Dudes were the consummate professionals
Well, not exactly an individual experience ;-)
If I remember correctly, I think Junior said he got grounded for that LOL
his smile said it all hahaha
Really quickly, I'm sorry about the loss of your father, Five.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Where was this mentioned
@@the-angel-of-light-gardevoir8 The Dumpster Fire Podcast recently.
@@FivePointsVids You're welcome, bro.🙂
@@FivePointsVids wow I’m so sorry brother. I know it sounds corny and trite but I’m thinking of you and a giving you a hug from afar
I doubt we'll ever see a father-son back-to-back home run in a long, long time
One of the biggest stories to proves baseball rocks
As a Mariners fan, I'm aware of some of the futility and the playoff droughts and all that. But damn, dude, we have some great stories in the team's existence. This is one of the best.
Mariners man, memories, so many memories.
I agree with you 100%
Fun Fact: When Ken Jr. voiced as Himself in the Simpsons episode Homer at the Bat, Ken Sr. was in the studio, coaching him.
One of the most wholesome stories in sport. You love to see it. My condolences for the loss of your dad, Five Points.
Thank you 🙏🏾
So in the end, Senior got it all. I’m sure that 1990 ring looks nice, but those memories he got from playing in Seattle are priceless.
Also, Jay Buhner was underrated. And to have Frank Costanza yell at Steinbrenner over the Ken Phelps trade was hilarious.
Buhner had good defensive range and a cannon for an arm... His Career average should have been higher- but he struck out a lot.
RIP Adam's dad.
On a lighter note, other great father/son duos -
Graham/Damon Hill
Giles/Jacques Villeneuve
Carlos Sainz Senior/Junior
Michael/Mick Schumacher
Jos/Max Verstappen
Cesare/Paolo Maldini
Alf-Inge/Erling Haaland
If we’re going into racing….Al Unser Sr/Jr and Mario/Michael Andretti
Tim Raines/Tim Raines Jr. (second father-son duo to play with each others in MLB).
@@zlinedavid Dale Earnhardt Senior/Junior
Racing isn't a sport it's a glorified hobby or activity.
@@Handle9 they’re not throwing a ball or anything but it’s endurance and taking the g forces. Drivers are athletes forsure
The back to back HRs is top five most iconic moment in sports history
Sorry for your loss, Adam. Please accept my condolences
Thank you
Sr was determined to make sure he didn’t do the same thing his dad did
Growing up and still a Mariner fan to this day, this was THE BEST moment I witnessed.
The other one? When I got to see “The Double” by Edgar in 1995.
GOM’s!!!
You’re in my thoughts and prayers Five. Stay strong brother.
My Mariners moment I was there to see is Felix’s perfect game.
It must’ve been something to see those two in person.
Go Mariners!
You actually got Griffey's Mariners Hall of Fame induction speech. That's still the single greatest compliment I've ever heard.
Great video. I grew up in Seattle, and was a M's fan, even attending the first game. Junior was electric, so honored to see him play. Years later, I got to meet Senior in his one year as manager of the now-contracted Bakersfield Blaze of the Cal League. He was cool, kind of ribbed me in a good-natured way. Both Griffey's are a class act.
I'm 37 - Junior is my favorite non-Cubs player ever. Damn it 5 I almost lost it at the end of the video
Griffey to Griffey base hits. Goosebumps.
Truly one of the greatest feel good stories in sports. ❤
Tim Raines played a few games with his son, Tim Jr. on the 2001 Orioles.
I lost my father 2 weeks ago. I remember so many times we used to play catch when I was a kid. Watching this video was really special because I remember watching these two play together. So happy for both of them.
sorry for your loss
I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing. This is the worst club to be a member of.
My dad was so good at baseball he left me and my mom to play professionally in Korea but never came back
I’m sorry brother
I share a first name with my father (who lost his life four months ago), and although the middle names are different, I embraced the "Jr." during my short time playing youth baseball because of Ken. That's my two cents. Anyway, nice story and nice coverage.
I am so sorry for your loss
Junior was my favorite player growing up as a Giants fan😊
What a fitting vid in light of recent events. Thanks for making this, Five... and RIP Jacob.
Absolutely fantastic video, Adam.
As a young Reds fan, I could remember listening to Reds games in the final years of Junior’s career. I was 3-4 years old back in 2007/2008. At the time, I obviously didn’t know too much about baseball, but I had memories of my father taking me to the airport to watch planes take off and land as we listened to Reds games on the radio.
At that age, I just knew Junior as “Number 3”. My dad even learned how to stitch, so that he could put Griffey Jr’s #3 on the back of my blank Reds jersey, even as we weren’t exactly a wealthy family.
I obviously wasn’t around for Griffey Sr.’s playing days, but as I grew up I learned more and more about the two, and fell further in love with the Griffeys.
I wish you the best, Adam! 🔥
I thought the greatest father - son combo in sports was Eli being Tom’s daddy
Watched these two play in the Kingdome several times- they always looked like they were having so much fun!
Some things are more important than a ring. No amount of gold and gemstones or trophies can equal the value of what they got to do.
Griffey Sr. was one of the "Great Eight" that was the core of the back to back Reds World Championship 1975-76 teams. RIP to Bill Plummer who backed Bench.
My mind must have been somewhere else on the first viewing. It took until the second for me to realize Jay Buhner was the subject of that speech at the end.
I'm not crying, you're crying
Miss Mr. Hockey. He is a legend among legends.
I watched The History of the Seattle Mariners by Secret Base, a LOT of times. Since I did, I have a special place for the Mariners in my heart, and of course for Junior and his dad.
Know this one was a personal one for you man. Sorry about your loss, 5PV. Dads rule.
We love you, FPV. We're all with you. ❤
God damn! Reliving this was amazing. Thanks five!
My condolences, Five
Gordy Howe also played with his 2 sons with Houston Aeros of the WHA (World Hockey Association).
Which the WHA merged with the NHL, and the NHL got the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, New England/Hartfird Whalers, & Québec Nordiques,
I hope your doing good Five stay strong.
I think something we all take advantage of sometimes is having a catch, father and son.
This was a beautiful piece man. I love if you could do Expos similar length or longer on the Pittsburgh drug trials I don't think that gets enough coverage how big of a deal that was. Also seeing them on the field together I teared up a little bit thinking about me and my dad working in the woods together, all the best man
Wonderfully done five ! 👏🏼👏🏼 ⚾️ ❤
Thanks Jeto 😁
I remember watching Ken Sr and Jr homering back to back as it happened.
Hell of a watch! My condolences to you over your personal loss. This video was beautiful and, what I like to call, Good Internet. We don’t get that much these days.
I’ve seen many of your videos, but this is your best one. Wishing you the best.
Thank you 🙏🏾
i dont watch enough baseball anymore to argue which periods of the game were actually better and maybe its because i was a teen in the 90s but seeing this just reminded me of how great baseball was in the 90s i mean sure there is some nostalgia overload here and there was that whole thing with the peds but i dont know man just seemed more exciting back then griffey jr was one hell of a player too i remember everyone generally liking him maybe not so much the mariners especially here in phillies territory but you'd see him alot of sportscenter and always hoped he'd win a world series.
Amazing video good sir
makes me want to see Baseball Bat Bros have a home run derby with the Kid like they did with the Hollidays
Great video
It's still blows my mind to think that Donora, despite never having a population over 15,000, has produced 2 inner circle Hall of Famers and another 3 time All-Star
FPV, can you do a video comparing injury rates in the major sports leagues, please?
I would've loved to see Frank Gore Sr and Jr play together
My grandpa was actually at the game where the Griffeys hit back to back hr
I remember hearing a story. Jr did a Carlton Fisk after a Homer sr told him don't u ever do that $#!+ again thus leading to his pose after his home runs
Roger clemens once pitched a game with his son as catcher
It didn’t hurt that Griffey Jr. was born when his dad wasn’t even 19 yet, and also was HELLACIOUSLY talented at SUCH A YOUNG age….probably the Only time this will EVER happen in sports…ever…I think ALL of us knew it..Had Griffey Sr been able to still perform into his 40’s, we would’ve gotten more than just the two years, but, it WAS a special time, nonetheless!
….Idc what you say five…..his swing is the greatest swing of all time (and you cant change my mind, many many have tried and all have failed) Im a Yankee fan but my favorite player was always Ken Griffey Jr.
Little know fact-Father and son are Actually named GEORGE-Kenneth is their middle name!😊
Junior Griffey HATED the Yankees 😁😁
That’s part of what made 1995 so sweet.
Gordy and Mark Howe were both hof. Hockey is great for father and sons playing hockey.
I knew it wouldn't be Kellen Winslow Sr. and Jr.
Lol
Gordy Howe played with the Hartford Whalers!!??
Junior if not for injuries would have broken the all-time record for homers and not Barry.
Lee, Richard and Kyle Petty?
Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr.?
Bobby Bonds and Ken Griffey (Sr) were both 3x All Stars. Bobby Bonds, however, won 3 Gold Gloves, hit more HRs, and stole more bases (in less seasons). I’m a huge fan of your content but you’re off on this one.
Barry Bonds (if you leave out his peak years) was still a 3x MVP compared to 1 MVP for Griffey Jr. Bonds was the better base stealer, and all around hitter; whereas Griffey was the better power hitter, played the more important position. The problem with Griffey Jr > Bonds is that Bonds was still an elite power hitter & defender. The gap between Bonds’s advantages is larger than the vice versa.
Cal Ripken Sr managed his sons Cal Jr and Billy
junior hit the wall at camden yards pretty sure he did
You clearly have never seen justin jefferson and his son jaire alexander
I want the Celtics to draft Bronnie in the 1st, and then refuse to sign Bron
Fastest I’ve even come to an uplod
I got no problem with LeBron going out of his way to do the same thing for his son
oh fuck you FPV, Iam too drunk to be crying.
Sorry 😂
Grwat story for sure but its not the greatest in sports Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr is the best father son story in sports and yes Racing is a sport
Thats a good one

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
King James Version
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
