It's not about the whiskey, it's the people you share it with!

Thanks so much for the kind words, Jason. Can't wait until we see you in Louisville someday, cheers!
Thanks Rabbit Hole!
Love, love, love this stuff!! I am a complete newb and Jason has been immensely helpful for me. This, I'm afraid, is a rabbit hole that I have started to go down.
I love the full lineup overview. Its so informative!!!
Rabbit hole is good. My biggest complaint is that you have to pay 10-20 dollars extra because it’s a craft.
Ok so I just got some Cavehill, it is almost exactly what he said. I'd have to say that Cavehill is my choice, no gag reflex and it truly is pleasant. This is definitely worth a go!
This is a great video man. I think this is the type of content a lot of us need and want to see. I mean, this is like Consumer Reports for whiskey. I don't know how many times Ive passed on Rabbit Hole. I haven't seen it being served in a bar where I can try it and I don't feel like investing $60-$80 for something I might not like when I can get ECBP for the same money and it's 12 year barrel proof. Keep grinding out content like this man...Im kinda tired of seeing reviews of stuff that is unavailable and expensive. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Cheers!
Great review, very thorough. Also great job telling their story and showing distillery photos 🥃
Thanks for taking the time to go through the core releases. I’ve had the Cavehill, which was solid. Nothing too complex, an easy drinker for sure and quality. I’d be interested in trying the Rye next. The sherry finish might need to be sampled before a purchase for me.
Thanks for putting out this video, man. I've always seen these on the shelves here too and wondered about them...I think the price and lack of knowledge kept me away. Might have to pick one of these up after a couple bottle kills. Cheers!
Stunningly beautiful distillery as well. Very nice people, too. Toured it a few weeks before they opened and met Kaveh, master distiller, and architect
Alway Good with Reviews!
Definitely worth trying another of their Dareringer cause they make pretty small batches and I had a very different experience than you explained here. I do agree that the Heigold is up there as one of their most consistent pours.
As always awesome video! We have only had the heirloom which was decent - but yes the pricing seems just a bit high for us to keep going back to buy more bottles. So many bourbons to explore!
Thanks for the review of all 4. I, like you have looked at these bottles for a couple of years. I think I will try your top 2. Was on a spirit site, read up on Covehill and thought, I've never seen a review on this. Thanks again for the info.
Thanks for this review Jason, plenty to digest here. Their prices did jump up 10-20% post acquisition, seems like the Heigold is the safe bet with a little more age on it. Merry Christmas!
That’s one of the biggest challenges with craft whiskey. Either you source and have to charge higher prices because of the middle man (ie MGP) or you do it themself and have to charge more for a younger whiskey. It’s hard to justify the bigger expense when companies like WT or OF exists and are on the shelves everywhere. Great review!
Helpful review. Excellent.
Thanks for doing this as I've been trying to figure out which Rabbit Hole to try as see it on the shelves here in TX! Hey, do a live stream when baseball starts and we can talk Mets as I'm a Met fan in TX and they're finally interesting again. Thank you for your great honest content. Merry Christmas, Jason!
Nice honest review. Very much appreciated. I saw all 4 of these on the shelf last night and passed knowing the review was coming. I do agree that the price point can be an issue. However, I will purchase all 4 in the near future and come back to taste along. Cheers!
Nice! You can bring all four of those to a free virtual tasting at www.rabbitholedistillery.com/pages/holiday-tastings
With some good whiskies and some good cigars I can have about as Merry of a Christmas as is possible. Nice review Jason! 👍
Great spirits, loving this brand!
about time someone covered this.. i have been wanting to buy the PX and ship it to a tuber just to see if its worth it.. glad to see i will enjoy the PX one.
Late to the party, but glad I watched this video. Have been debating picking up a bottle of this stuff, but like you mentioned the price point is high. Its a great looking bottle and label, which caught my eye. Great video!
Thank you Mash and drum for this review, I bought the blue bottle/ Rabbit hole about 3 months ago, 1st time buying it, was surprised iand didn't know what to expect, dropping 46.00 for an unknown bourbon, but it was not bad at all, pretty tasty
The Rabbit Hole review I’ve been looking for. Solid, honest review. Definitely needs to age a bit but will look to pick up the Cavehill even though the price does not seem to equal the finish. Cheers
I didn't get as much youth out of this as he did, but I also sampled a year and a half after this review. Maybe their ages are creeping up? They claimed 3-4 years on the Cavehill, 4-5 years on the Heigold and Boxergrail. I have discovered that higher malt content helps hide some youthful notes as well.
Nice, honest review. I have only the Cavehill. Have to agree with you. Will try to get a sample of Heigold from a local whiskey society. Cheers!
Love the back story. Cavehill for Christmas and the second pour better than the first.
We did this vertical tasting with Adam from Rabbit Hole (who is amazing by the way) on one of our live shows and agreed with your rankings almost to a T. Pricing is an issue, i wonder if they would consider doing a mix pack of small portions for a cheaper price point to expose people to their product more. As always, amazing video. Cheers!
I agree. Thats a good idea. Maybe with the new owners prices will adjust.
Great review Jason I especially loved the B roll. I have tried the rye and the PX sherry and I loved them both. I haven’t had the chance to try the others. The price point is much lower here at my local Total Wine. $65 for the PX and $44 for the rye.
I’ve only tried Heigold and Dareinger. Both very good. I do love the sherry cask finish and I loved wheaters.
I just tried the Cavehill and it is great ! I will buy it again.
Boxergrail, for me, is all caraway and dill. I love it. The mustiness on the PX bourbon goes away a fair bit after that bottle gets some air, but that one never did it for me.
I really enjoy this bourbon, the 4 grain is such a smooth sipper. They're getting harder to find now too
I literally just tried a sample of the Dareringer last night for one of my scoresheets after the sender insisted I try it. Having tried Glenmorangie Lasanta and Wild Turkey Revival beforehand and getting significant sherry funk from those, the Dareringer was a nice change of pace. I wish it was my first exposure to a sherry-finished whiskey, it was very approachable. I think its youth and use of wheat mixes well with the sherry influence, and I'd say it's helped me see how well young whiskey can be executed in the right hands.
A vendor hosted business event at Rabbit Hole in the Overlook. It was a great place to do something like that. We did a tour and tried all their bourbons. Cavehill was my favorite with Heigold coming in a close second. I lean toward the high wheat bourbons, so no big surprise as to my favorite. Highly recommend the tour and a visit. Great venue for a business or social gathering.
Nice review
I tried and liked the rye. I did not know that cave hill was a four grain .That makes me interested in this bottle. It will find it's way into my shelf in the future.
I'm back to my opened bottle Rabbit Hole Rye in 2 years and I love it a lot ;-) A lots of nice spicy lemon grass flavors
Did a virtual tasting with the same bottles (not sure about the PX) and the only one I would have consider buying is the Cavehill then the Heigold.
I didn't get that out of the sherry/Derringer bourbon. I got more of a caramel butterscotch note and flavor. Great video as always. Merry Christmas.
Thats why I need to try again. Didnt remember that note when I first tried it.
I think the derringer sherry finish was amazing. It’s become one of my favorite bourbons! But I’m a sucker for sherry finishes.
My pallet is not close to yours in sophistication. I drank the black label for the first time tonight and I thought Woodford Reserve too. Not super complex but very easy drinking, does not fight you. A good intro for beginners at a party. A crowd pleaser? At least for people that are open to spirits. I get a lot of honey, vanilla and oak and pepper on the back end. I am 63 but I am still learning. Thanks for the review.
I fucking love this stuff. It has opened my eyes to bourbon!!
Not sure why, but I just picked up Cavehill for $38, super happy with it.
As I can still see that these are still on the shelf today at $55 the top two. Still have time to get to it.
I was just thinking that a great comparison review would be between Larceny and Weller Special Reserve, and maybe Larceny barrel proof and Weller full proof, since they seem to occupy a similar space from their respective distilleries.
Just toured the distillery last week and I rated them Cavehill, Boxergrail (so nice to have a 95/5 rye not from MGP), Heigold, and Dareringer. All were good to very good. They also sell a gin at the distillery that is aged in their used Rye casks. It is out of this world good. I kicked myself the whole trip home for not picking up a bottle.
I picked up the 95% rye at CostCo because it looked interesting. Its flavorful and easy sipping. I like it a lot but haven't tried the others.
I would love to see a review of The Rabbit Hole Rye against the New Riff Rye
I've tried the Heigold and the Cavehill and like them both very much. I do think they're a bit on the expensive side, though.
Costco has the Boxergrail at $35 on sale, and it's pretty good at that price.
Loving my Neil Peart coins and gifted one to my father for his favorite drummer
I bought the blue label this afternoon. I couldn’t remember what was the best version.
maybe I'm wrong but this is sourced bourbon. it seems overly finished with wood. if you like it, drink it, but its sort of bourbon's version of birthday cake flavored vodka.
I liked the “Derringer” but that’s the only one that I had tried. Finish the bottle in a couple days we did. But did you notice how many sips he took? like he liked it , but just was unsure ? I would just like to add that rabbit hole and whistle pig companys both surprised me this year. An they are my new favorite Bourbons.
Trying rabbit hole boxergrail first time… got great price . But pour some in your tumbler and let it air out ., alot of spice flavor notes , cinnamon, sweet orange,. Maybe allspice… apple also ..
Zamanian ! He's tec Armenian! So hes Persian Armenian like me. Andre Sarkissian from N.Y. Long Island. p.s. any last name that ends in "ian" is Armenian. Love you Chanel !!!
Ya I keep passing it by, now Ill buy the Cave Hill to support are Armenian Brother👊😎 They got it at Sams Club for around 40 bucks
Good review. I've found these to be solid, but nothing stand out.
Same
Had the Cavehill recently and while it was sweet and enjoyable, it was a little young and thin and not worth the $60 price tag.
just got the Dareringer for $65. seen it for up to $85, so i pulled the trigger. good, but not overly impressed.
did not shoot myself in the foot, though...
let's see how it opens up.
I get a creamy orange vanilla honey ice cream flavor with a zing of pepper!
You're forgetting the Bulleit Rye, an MGP 95% rye mashbill! I prefer it to the bourbon.
Yes! Good call!
I second!
Cave Hill review at 7:20
Cavehill in my opinion is the best of all!
Never understood why these companies don’t offer a tasting pack at retail with smaller sizes to sample their complete line of expressions.
I'm not crazy about the Sherry influence on Bourbon, I feel like it works much better with Scotch.
Four of us did a tasting in Louisville
We were rushed and NOT impressed at all.
