- Meet the Heavy Weapons Guy, one of nine playable character classes in Team Fortress 2.
Name: Heavy Weapons Guy
Role: Defense
Weapons: Chain Gun / Shotgun / Giant Fists
Like a hibernating bear, the Heavy appears to be a gentle giant. Also like a bear, confusing his deliberate, sleepy demeanor with gentleness will get you ripped limb from limb. Though he speaks simply and moves with an economy of energy that's often confused with napping, the Heavy isn't dumb, he's not your big friend, and he generally wishes you'd just shut up before he has to make you shut up. - Zábava
Canonically to the comics, the director tried in every way to convince Heavy to talk about himself, but eventually gave up because Heavy kept talking about his gun
My favorite part about that comic is how Heavy motions the words as he slowly says that he likes to shoot gun
I think it's because Heavy doesn't want to say he has a family he loves dearly in case something ever were to happen to them.
@@mariustan9275 But if I recall correctly, the Director specifically asks him if Heavy actually escaped from a gulag with his family (?)
The gun *IS* himself. That’s basically all you need to know about Heavy
"Guns. I like to shoot them. That's all you need to know."
How to not pay 400k to fire this weapon:
Shoot for 11 seconds
Big brain
Big Brain

Doot doot!

I love how hes portrayed as the dumbest character in the series, aside from maybe soldier, yet you can clearly tell hes a smart guy hes just a man of few words.
And those are the kinds of people you have to watch out for, you never know when it will be your last
At least that's my perspective
He has a phd
He literally has a degree in Russian Literature, Heavy is 101% the smartest character, man's just chaotic good.
@@I-am-invisiblewhat about Engineer?

LMAO, that's like getting kicked out of hell 🤣

i like how sincerely the heavy speaks when he's sitting
he may be a big scary russian man who doesn't speak the best english, but when he's not killing you, he's the wisest, most sincere guy you'll ever see
He's oddly expressive and gentle for a giant murder machine
In thr comics he's actually pretty much as smart as Spy is (in terms of schooling and PHDs as he had a PHD in Russian Literature)
Agreed
@@matematulji Im pretty sure Spy is smarter since Spy potentially know every languege.
@@batuhan-g6534 well obviously Spy is smarter, but Heavy is not that far behind him. If I remember correctly, from smartest to dumbest is:
1. Medic (11 PHDs)
2. Engineer (7 PHDs)
3. Spy
4. Heavy
5. Demoman (cause of his insane knowledge of bombs)
6. Sniper
7. Scout
8. Soldier
And Pyro is unknown. It is argued that Soldier, although an idiot, may be smarter than Scout because he's actually a very impressive strategist, while Scout only has his street smarts.
It's amazing how the formats of all "Meet The" videos perfectly reflect each character.
Heavy and Engineer's videos are very calm and pretty much fit the format of a job interview. They quickly tell the director about themselves and then prove what they just said by demonstrating their skill.
Sniper's video is closer to an ad, which is fitting, because he's the mercenariest of all mercenaries. Saying cool sounding lines about his job, explaining the importance of it, all on top of having something of a motto with the "Professionals have standarts" line. Plus the music also fits the mood.
Soldier (R.I.P.) has a motivational speech for his platoon. Bold statements, loud and harsh voice, not meaningful yet powerful lines like the zoo monologue and a montage that shows what a good soldier should be. Jane Doe is trying to act like a military officer, and you know what? He succeeds.
Scout and Demo are them speaking about their life, their achievements and how they got to this point in life. They treat it not as a job interview, but as a friendly chat, so they tell much more about their backstory. They are both, at their heart, pretty nice people (yep, even scout) so they, naturally, want to tell more about themselves.
Spy, Medic and Pyro are all very interesting cases. Their videos aren't job interviews or something like that; instead, they are short movies, and every one of them has an easy explanation:
1. Spy is NEVER supposed to give an interview. He's intended to be a mystery, something hidden from the public's eyes, lurking in the shadows, so, of course, the only way to introduce people to him is just by showing what he does from his enemies' perspective.
2. Medic also has reasons to keep some information about himself a mystery. His methods of healing? Experiments with humans as subject. His medicine? Wild, unethical and possibly illegal concoctions. Even his status as a medic? Doubted, because he lost his medical license. The only person who he doesn't bother to hide the truth from is Heavy. Again, the best way to get any facts about the Medic is through a documentary about him.
3. Pyro is physically incapable of telling about himself (I consider him a man). I would never expect someone who lives in a magical rainbow unicorn land with angelic babies to give an interview that even remotely starts to make sense, which is rendered impossible since Pyro is wearing a gas mask. So we're left to guess what he is, just like the other mercenaries, who give us their thoughts.
This is just genius. The TF2 team is (or was) amazing.
TL;DR: every "Meet The" video is a masterpiece on all levels.
Yeah...once upon a time, Valve gave a shit about this game. The attention to detail in almost everything they did was incredible.
I 100% agree, these made my life better.
Don’t forget Meet The Sandvich! Which is shot like a possibly more low-budget sketch because it’s a shitpost!

Fun fact: Heavy is actually the second most educated merc. Medic lost his medical license and isn't technically a doctor, and heavy has a PhD in Russian Literature. Engineer, however, has eleven doctorates.
Losing his medical license implies that he had it at some point, so it's not to say Medic isn't smart. In fact, I'd argue he's at a similar level as Heavy, since he invented the Medi Gun (see Meet the Medic outtakes). He lost it because of the story he told in "Meet the Medic" and probably his overall... demeanor.
Engie, however, definitely had some spare time on his hands with those degrees.
