thank you Michelle, your way of teaching is easiest for me and most enjoyable, you are so relaxed and cheerful and that is very conducive to learning when the student is happy and relaxed, the mind then absorbs lessons quicker. looking forward to my trip to Italy with your help.

I have been enjoying your lessons prior to my first trip to Italy.I will be traveling to Rome and then to Venice for a wedding.I really like how you tie in with clear explanations and "hooks". If I may, you are also easy on the eyes as well

Grazie mille. This is the first video that I have found that takes us to the mille and mila and milione. I sure would not have known from other videos how to count or understand these numbers.

Excellent video: for me, I learn different languages because...English is useful BUT not enough and has a very limited shelve life communication wise if you speak it i a country that do not speak it as a first or second official language. Each language does open commercial/cultural/work/folkloric/artisanal doors that others cannot! Also, as much as I like to use English of course being in the UK now or speaking it to folks that has it as a first language, I am noticing tough and can see as my predictions which usually becomes true in such matters, that more and more people have started since 2018-2019 not to choose English as a second language as a reflex to use it like the Lingua Franca right away but go for French, Spanish, Russian, German, Malay etc...which are per regions of the globe and for some, internationally, lingua francas themselves. Some folks also seem to go for specialized languages like Icelandic or Maltese or Farsi to open special historical and cultural doors ...
Since Brexit (which I understand the reason for) and so many Trumpist extremists in the United States being there still, English will be used less around the world, by at least and indelibly -15%, by 2023-25.
Also, in India, Hindi, not English, is both the most widely spoken first language and second language in India . While the number of native Spanish speakers in the United States is less than that of English speakers, Spanish is getting stronger there as, for now, there are 43,200,000 native speakers languages in that country.
I speak French, English / American, some Mexican Spanish and I now go all the way to learn Italian correctly to a fluent level. It will take time indeed. Why Italian? Amazingly, it is spoken by more than 67 million native speakers in the European Union (2020) and with L2 speakers in the European Union: 13.4 million so around a total of 85 million total speakers!
More so tough, because I love Italian foods, operas, history from the Romans to explorers like with explorers like Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo and Amerigo Vespucci etc... Also, its architecture and monuments: Italy (and China) is the country with the highest number of UNESCO sights in the world. There are 55 cultural and natural heritage sites and 40 others that have sought to be listed, making up 5% of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
I ADORE the Italian phonetics within a singing tone. To finish, it is said that Italian is still number 4 in the world in the most studied language! yes, difficulty wise, it is harder than Spanish and Portuguese for sure and even compared to some other languages but well worth it!

I find it very confusing that venti loses its tail when combined with otto but cento doesn't!
To make a big compound number, do I just say all the individual pieces in sequence, with any piece under a thousand as one word and anything bigger as its own word? For example 999,999 - is that novecentonovantanove mila novecentonovantanove?
    1,000,001 - un millione uno?
Thank you for this video. I did the entire Duolingo Italian course and at no point did they teach me how to tell the time or how to say non-trivial numbers such as 43. Now I know. 😊
