    Wow, we all just watched a 15 minute video of you processing wood with no talking, very little music or camera view changes. Does that speak more to how awesome you are or how easily we are entertained/distracted?

    • @whatahowl1
      @whatahowl1 Před měsícem +5

      To how good he is mostly due to the fact that he built most of the equipment he had, just me talking

      @jamesa7506 Před měsícem +3

      @@whatahowl1
      He didn't build or design this processor or tractor that powered it. Nearly all of his content is of him building, designing, or repairing something whereas this one was simply him processing wood. That's it. My original comment is more rhetorical than an actual question. We, as a population, have become so lazy in many aspects of our lives that we're now contently amused and engrossed with watching someone work. Decide for yourself.

    • @whatahowl1
      @whatahowl1 Před měsícem +1

      You are mistaken if you believe that I was critiquing Don's video, I most certainly was not, but more my commentary on the shallow and short span of attention of the viewers as of late in a general sense. The edifying value of a large amount of "trending" videos is negligible at best but mainly a time waster, white noise, purely a distraction from reality and in effect a neglect of one's life. (Sincerely no sarcasm given.) 👍🙂

      @@whatahowl1
      If he did, in that respect I am mistaken and surely do not mean to take away from his abilities. This video, in particular, did not showcase its build but merely Don cutting wood and us watching him do it and why it drew so much attention. His channel is one of my favorites to watch mainly because he's quite intelligent and resourceful, admirable traits to have in my opinion.

      @@lloydprunier4415 they are super cool. I guess if a guy wanted to he could spend some time bending up some metal clasps as well. Yet those crates are super handy. I know I can get 100s of them local and do the same thing. The only problem is I do not have anything that can move them. Plus the new place does not have a fireplace right now. Not really a place to put one. Been thinking about adding in one of those forces air furnaces that you connect to your existing duct work. We have plans to build a new house and that is one idea I have is the forced air furnace. Yet I also am considering 3 seperate heat pumps for the split arrangement. Would super simple and it would break the large house in to zones and keep seperate air areas as well. We have even thought about mini wood stoves as well. Yet you still require a large draft and I really do not wish to push anything through my thick ceiling and penetration free roof. I do miss using a wood stove in all of the houses I owned and lived in before this one. This one right now is paid in full and I can live with out the firewood for now.

    I really hope that this was sponsored by Forstman, Donn. If not then it should have been. Pretty much the ultimate endorsement for that piece of kit. Which, by the way, is brilliant. That splitter beak totally changes the dynamic of a guillotine splitter. I sense a typical Donn improvement on the feed side though... = ) Custom high level cradle for the material and a smooth sloped feeder trough would make your life much easier and your back grateful. Shame that things have come to having to put a permanent watermark on the screen throughout the video`s... yeah, I have noticed that blatant rip off channel... As always, I hope all is well with you and yours = )
