I would happily see Earthquake in the cinema's again. The effects work stands up today, especially the incredible matte work by Albert Whitlock. Beats the shit out of the CGI "crap" ladden junk the studios pump out today. Come on Universal get your act together and bring this film back to the big screen one last time.
With Sensurround.
the poor cows
poor cows? what about that dude in the VW?
Don’t worry, they were all actors 😂
You mean those fake plastic model cows in that model truck?
they all is editing

I'm happy you remastering movies wonderfully especially to this disaster 1970's flick: Earthquake.
It's almost realistically destructive from the old school filming. I loved this movie a lot.
It's scary even remotely shocking of the entire population experienced in a actual earthquake.
Also for that time, Sensurround sounds like a great inventive way to listening the unshakable sounds
to give us a frightening experience in motion picture's history. Great job on those blu ray releases, Shout Factory.
love the nod to Eastwood (High plains) good cinematography in earthquake too.
an all time classic. this is one of those disaster movies that really show how dangerous Los Angeles can be
I keep forgetting about nature when I see how dangerous the democrats are over there
THX sound system ... 0:32 the audience is melting...!
Saw this when it premiered in 1974 at the cinema in what they called sensurround, the speakers were as big as cars and when a quake would hit the speakers would cause the floor to rumble. Four more films came out with this effect, Midway, Rollercoaster , Saga of Star World, Battlestar Galactica and that was the last of sensurround sound.
damn, that's crazy, that would make the experience a whole lot better
@@AW336Lab It did put you right in the action.
😂😂 One of the best comedy's ever 😂😂
🤣. Agree
THAT THEATER SCENE WAS SCARY AND THAT MAN DRIVING ON TĤAT OVERPASS WITH ALL THEM COWS SCARY
I live in London and was very recently talking to a retired man in his 80s who was a projectionist at the Empire Theatre in Leicester Square London for many many years. He was telling me that when he was working there when Earthquake was released it's screening was pulled from the Empire due to the Sensurround beginning to cause cracks in the theatre and also damage to the London Underground system under neath Leicester Square!

9.0 or plus Earthquake in California
Always got a laugh about the hand back-forth-back-forth-back-forth movement of the guy in the doorway as the dam is rocking. Hysterical.
2:29 Hey, watch that cattle, dude! There's a global pandemic and a meat shortage!
Fun fact: The scenes of the big one in this film were used for the classic TV series, 'The Incredible Hulk's episode 'Earthquakes Happen'.
Don’t forget Galactica 1980 two-part episode, “Galactica Discovers Earth”.
@@Naminski1a Oh, thanks for the info. :)
Not a great film but an absolute classic. Would love to see this again in a theater
I think they've improved the special effects quite a bit since this was made. San Andreas was a terrible movie, but the special effects were great. Watch the Towering Inferno for some real laughs, both in the story line and special effects.
I wanna see this at IMAX.
Can someone explain to me what was that film clip from with Clint Eastwood in it? 0:07
High Plains Drifter. Great Movie!
@@colinsorrells8755 One of his CLASSIC western films.
@@burtonwilliams5355 From Universal of course. Lol

Today all moviemakers shaking camera constantly
QUESTION: What Clint Eastwood movie were they watching?
I Would See The Earthquake In The Movie Theater

2:29 R.I.P. Cows 1974-1974
Was 15 when I first saw this -- I'm like -- uh, stay away from California . . oh wait . . have New Madrid Fault in West Tennessee . . i'm about 200 miles to the east of it . . so . .I'm o.k. (??)
Oh so this transfer doesn't have that FAKE GRAIN that universal plastered over that dreadful bluray that I have. If this transfer doesn't included the Sensurround Attention! It = no buy.
:D
