I remember when they played this on TV in 1976. They simulcast it over the radio in Los Angeles and my Dad made a HUGE deal about surrounding the TV with radios to get that " movie theater " sound . Lol
WRONG! This scene and the others you have up were NEVER part of the original theatrical release. They were filmed years later for the 1977 television premiere of the movie and (unfortunately) added in.
Shout Factory issued a Blu-ray set that includes both the theatrical version and the TV version. The film elements from the pawnshop scene were in pretty rough shape and included as a separate bonus feature.
This, as are the other "deleted scenes" you falsely posted as such, are NOT deleted scenes but were NEWLY FILMED scenes added to the 1977 NBC network two-part showing of the movie. You should change your info and clip title because these are NOT deleted scenes.
Correct, this happened with a LOT of Universal movies in the 70s to pad their running times for TV. "Midway", "Two Minute Warning" and "Airport '77" (though in that case those were mostly deleted scenes put back in) all had expanded versions too. And unless you have a 90s or earlier TV airing you will never see them again, because the tape transfers used for TV airings all went up in the Universal fire in 2008 (the Blu-Ray of "Two Minute Warning" has the TV cut sourced from a 90s TNT airing)
There was only one deleted scene that was restored: the one with Rosa and the biker with the Pep Boys sign in the background. They did have another deleted scene that was considered too controversial to show back in the day. It involved the Graffs' friend and family physician accidentally disclosing that Remy had an abortion 2 years earlier when Stew was at a convention in San Francisco. (Remy had led Stew to believe she had a miscarriage - and led Dr. Jim Vance to believe Stew agreed to her having an abortion - I have no idea back then whether federal or state laws required spousal consent or if this was just this doctor's requirement prior to giving a referral for the procedure). This story would have helped the audience understand why Stew and Remy were fighting since it showed she lied twice: once to their doctor and once to her husband.
Cool, first to comment on this horrible scene. It's obvious why so many of these hit the cutting room floor. Although I like seeing them since the last time I did was when they ran the 2 day Earthquake premier on TV.
These were filmed FOR the original tv showing and were NEVER part of the original movie. These were filmed 3 years later and ARE considered to be dreadful.
@@CinemaCapMan I don't know about dreadful. But it ( the TV-shot footage)does not connect that well to any main character in the actual '74 theatrical film. Crazy showing somebody who was just supposed to meet Stewart Graff ( Heston).
Debra Lee Scott. Her Husband was a 1st Responder to 911. And was killed in the WTC. She had trouble with Alcoholism, and she left NY to be with her Sister in the Jacksonville area, she took a nap, and never woke up. Very sad

This scene was only included in the NBC Network Premiere of 1976 and TV Versions, not part of the Theatrical Version release.
Correct....added to the TV syndication package so the movie could be shown as a 2 parts and allowance for commercials...
This is probably the most polite spousal argument I've ever heard.
That scene is five minutes long, but felt like an hour! :/
That honeymooning couple was played by Sam Chew (wearing those Coke bottle glasses) and Debralee Scott.

We will turn the airplane to the right and the plane turns left. Any wonder why they deleted the scene?
