Sinking Of Japan Disaster Scenes
Vložit
- čas přidán 18. 01. 2007
- This is a video of disaster scenes from the 2006 movie Sinking Of Japan (Nihon Chinbotsu). It includes volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and earthquakes. I edited all the disaster parts for your pleasure. And to clear things up, yes this is a DVDrip, it is in Japanese but there ARE english subtitles. Here are the subtitles:
00.01 - Daisetsuzan Range, Hokkaido
00.22 - Mts Tokachi & Furano erupt
00.48 - City of Kumamoto
01.05 - Hakodate
01.57 - D1 reports... ..multi-centered earthquakes in Shizuoka, Nagano and Niigata!
02.04 - Magnitude 7....7.4...still rising!
02.06 - Tokyo, scale 6!
02.11 - It's coming!
(And it's kinda obvious that the earthquake scene is Tokyo.)

This remake of a 1973 movie is awesome, I have it on DVD. In fact it could well have inspired "2012" which came years later, lots of similarities with the FX scenes. Very well shot and written, and acting good too. Characters you actually care about and very thought provoking. I like SINKING OF JAPAN better than 2012 I must say.
Yes but 2012 is better

eh, Japan is always getting destroyed, rather its radioactive lizards or giant mech attack. Japan getting destroyed is like an every day occurrence there lol
Let's see... Japan gets hit with megaquakes, huge monsters and mega tsunamis. New York gets hit monsters, aliens, mega tsunamis, powerful storms and solar flares. Los Angeles gets hit with... well, megaquakes. Britain gets hit with... uhhhhhh... I dunno. ANYWAY! My point is, no city is safe from Hollywood's mass destructive imagination (or nature).
@GP9Xtreme Britain has dealt with terrorist attacks mainly i believe... i can only think of London has fallen, but they were also basically oblitherated by GI Joe
However, Japan comes back nicely as if nothing ever happened.
london is destroyed by a tungsten rod in GI.joe retaliation
28 days later! London gets zombies :)
This actually makes me think of 2012, even though it was made 3 years earlier. Japanese are great at special effects
I have come from the year 2020, approximately 10 Years in the future, with some unfortunate news... Let's start with December 2019

Wow, I have to say, they did an amazing job with the computer animation on this. Its actually believable. I thought they did a great job of incorporating the on the ground aspect as well from a birds eye view of the devastation and trauma. Many movies just do the on the ground aspect which is VERY poorly done, and doesn't capture the raw power of earths rage. We are at the mercy of our planet.
Very nice cows at the beginning.
ありがとうございます🎵
Kind of awkward to watch after the actual events in Japan.
It says on the description, the one that hit Tokyo was a 6.5 magnitude, which is actually pretty weak for the Japanese in 2017 considering the fact that the Great Tohoku earthquake in 2011 was a 9.0 and the Great Kanto Earthquake that struck in 1923 was an 8.0
I experienced a 6.7 earthquake in Turkey and slept Through it. The following tremors were about a 5 and still quite strong but you didn't feel it if you were standing up. Luckily there were very few victims, only one or two I think, and almaot no buildings were collapsed. So you're right, a 6.5 isn't actually that bad - depends on how well the buildings are prepared for tremors tho
No, they meant 6+ as in the Japanese intensity scale, not the magnitude. The magnitude was at least 7.4
That is the Daisetsuzan Volcanic Mountain Range, in movie the tectonic plate movements cause all the volcanoes to erupt.

THAT was Mount Aso, a volcano that lies near Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, erupting in a (spetacular and epic) supervolcanic eruption.
I watched this series yesterday and ended the series last night. I was already upset over something personal. I cried so many times through this series. I liked the media lady and the main guy. The fact they ended up together made me happy; could have been a little more interaction between them. Seeing the hope and desperation was emotional. Seeing the 'after' look of skyscrapers in the water was unreal. --- The part that made me cry the most was when the mother was making the beds on the floor and talking to her son. One more night of adult children, 'being a child again', would be wonderful. -- This series just shows how EVERY country in the world is full of greedy people in high places; makes me sick. However, even in their individual greed, their allegiance remained to their country/culture/people. That was refreshing.
I read the book, didn't know there was a movie.
stop posting Have you seen the 1973 original? Submersion Of Japan? It is a very good movie that too is based on the book.

Yup. It's a movie entitled Sinking of Japan. It's really an awesome disaster movie. The missiles that you see are actually lava rocks that were spewed by the volcano while erupting.
The special effects in Japanese movie before is better than New Japanese Movies now. Just saying though.
Flashbacks from Japan Sinks anime
The real Irony is that this was directed by Y. Tomino, AKA Kill Em All Tomino, maker of bloodbaths like Victory Gundam, Ideon, and other classics.
Japan's early version of 2012, despite that movie being released 4 years after this movie (2009)
This looks like a mixture of 2012 and The Impossible if you ask me.
Tokyo has loose soil. The shoreline has been extended, almost continually, over the past 300 years, with fill dredged up from the sea floor, and as a result, much of the city sits on reclaimed land. I remember seeing a program where some expert was saying that if there were an earthquake in Tokyo, the ground would liquefy.
こういう火山の周辺には、自然や人間にとって恵みになるものが沢山あります。
1st clip: Daisetsuzan eruption
2nd clip: Mt. Aso eruption (destruction of Kumamoto and plane crash)
3rd clip: Hakodate tsunami.
4th clip: Tokyo earthquake and tsunami.
Also mentioned in the Tokyo scene are the earthquakes in Shizuoka, Nagano and Niigata prefectures.
The Earthquake Scene on This Movie Reminds Me Of The 2012 Yellowstone Eruption Scene. They look alike.

I was looking for japan sinks anime but here i go wow the effects are dope
What's creepy is the real tidal waves that hit Japan didn't at all look like this but instead looked like the flood scenes from the 1960's and 1970's Japanese Flood movies where they built a model town inside of a giant flood tank and flood it by opening up flood tanks next to and flood out the movie set that way. These computer walls of water didn't at all happen during the real thing.
Yeah, it's weird...the tsunami from the Tohoku quake weren't these 100-meter walls of water all the disaster movies show. The sea just kept on rising and WOULD. NOT. STOP. And the water was black and cold and full of debris and mud. Honestly the videos from places like Kesennuma are scarier than even this.

I agree with you, a lot of people says that this film sucks because it doesn't have enough sequences, which I agree with the sequences, a little too short and there isn't enough, but anyways, I say this disaster film is the Best one because this disaster film actually has a Great story, very good sequences, Fantastic and delivering acting and a sound editing that is beyond Awesome! This film is actually very, very smart as well, something that a lot of disaster films aren't
The way I like to interpret this movie is Hirohito's karma for ww2 and Japan sank into the ocean avenging the countries it formerly colonized. Japan is now gone as the ocean will forever be it's tomb and Hirohito is no longer royal and is forced to watch other monarchs such queen Elizabeth ii rule their still existing countries. So in conclusion karma will happen so always be nice. Just my interpretation.
@TheNinjanordundor An earthquake of magnitude 15+ wouldn't leave anyone or anything standing, and would definitely affect the China mainland (which you would deny being affected in your response to me) as well as a number of countries in the region. A magnitude 10 earthquake leaves total devastation. The 2011 Japan earthquake measured 9. A 15 is unthinkable.
This is weird... The video ends AT EXACTLY 3:11 WHICH that was the DATE when the JAPAN TSUNAMI hit!.. This video was telling us about the future! 0.0
