Help with my 2002 bmw 330i car got hit on front bumper the air bags in gaged now car will not start where do I start to trouble shoot why car will not start ???
The battery is brand new ???????
A bro I wanted to ask you a question about cleaning the rubber seals because I'm about to buy a bmw hardtop convertible. My question was what makes the rubber seals dirty what if I never put the top down will the rubber seals still get dirty
i have this same car 2008 model and i have one of the trim piece missen. will the link provide me with the part that will work/fit for mine? just asking. will appreciate any response
I’ve owned two of these cars. My first was a 2011 328i hardtop convertible. Great car. But after 4 years and 1 minor issue unrelated to the top, I moved on and bought a 2015 428i hardtop convertible. It’s an even better car. And it gets fantastic gas mileage...better than any car it’s size has a right to get. Additionally, that 3 banger is faster than my last one was with it’s straight six. It’s roomier, quieter, faster, and just more comfortable than my 328i ever was. This car hasn’t had a single issue. That’s 8 years of straight BMW hardtop convertible ownership, both originally purchased as Certified Used cars, and in all, there’s been but ONE very minor issue that had nothing to do with the top. The tops on both have been absolutely flawless. Neither has ever failed to operate perfectly. This is one car I would DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN and AGAIN!!! They’ve been better than any other cars I’ve ever owned. Incidentally, I had a tow hitch from “Hidden Hitch” installed on both of these cars. There’s nothing better than a day out on the water with your high powered jet ski except when you get to launch it from the back of your BMW convertible with it’s top down. It makes the fun significantly better. And when I finish riding my ski, I know that the fun isn’t over, because I get to tow it behind my BMW convertible.
There’s definitely BMW cars that have a horrible reputation. THIS ISN’T SUCH A CAR. It’s probably one of the all time BEST convertibles out there. And as a hardtop convertible, you get the best of BOTH worlds...A great looking coupe and a great looking convertible all in one package. It’s every bit as quiet as the coupe with it’s top up.
Thank you sir! This review helped me a ton.
bro should i buy a 2007 bmw 3 series convertible?
could you guide me?
@@rai8957depends on mileage, service history, which engine it has, a lot of things
Had my e93 for 5 years zero issues. Works flawlessly.
How many miles on the clock? And how many miles you put on it? Considering buying one
I'm at 10 years, no issues either...
@@michaelmullen8278 got it with 110k sold it at 180k. Only issue was a speed sensor. The 328s are solid

I’m in love with hardtop convertibles 🥰
Ill buy it because they looks damn sick!

I’m almost afraid to say this (knock on wood)...back in 2007 I purchased a brand new BMW e93 330D here in Italy, which I still own in 2020 meaning it’s now 13 years old and I drive it every day. It now has 250.000 km..... I take care of it like any other car, run it through automatic car wash, though I have never encountered any of these problems. BMW haters can say whatever they want, they may not like them and I can respect that but I personally still today impressed with the quality of the car. Personally I’m not a German car fanatic... I bought this because I wanted 4 seats, convertible, and a hard top (buy a soft top and then you will see how expensive it is to maintain!) , at that time it was either BMW, or Volvo. I opted for BMW, and 13 years later I don’t regret my choice. I have a coupe, a convertible, and a sports car all in one.
After 2008 BMW reliability went down hill
I got mine in 2010, none of these issues either. I was also looking at the volvo, and VW had a hardtop at the time too. But obviously the e93 was the best option.
Also 10 years later, I've never done any of these preventative maintenance things lol 🤷🏽♂️
Same,Convertible top has been great no issues on or 2007 335i. As a matter fact, since owning this car since 2009 , I have only had coil pack issues. The rest as been regular maintenance .speaking about maintenance. I use Crytox on all the weather strips for this car. Aircraft and even NASA use this! Being a convertible it’s got over $2000 worth of weatherstrips so you want to look after them ! The little bottle of Crytox was about 50 bucks back in 2009,but well worth it. Cheers
Excellent tutorial on the Cabriolet. Worth noting all the points raised. A big thank you, just purchased the M 4 20i Sports Cabriolet. Will ensure the servicing and hard top is maintained regularly. Very useful video. Thanks
Thanks for the video - something to mention is the drainage holes which can get blocked either due to debris or frozen water. this can result in water flooding the electronics in the boot. They drain out each side of the car in the rear... BMW on older versions will open out the holes to allow for better drainage, the newer cars now have this done in manufactuer. Hoping these comments help. I love my version of this car, and have spent quite sometime touring in it in central europe (prior Covid).
Sweet ride. I saw one for sale that was silver like that, but with a dark red-ish interior. I kick myself for not buying it every time I think about it.
Scotty Kilmer is gonna go crazy if he sees this video
Hey Chris, glad that you included the top trims installation, great job!!💪🏼😎👍🏼
👊🏼
Thank you for your channel it's so informative I learn so much from you I am more hands on in maintaining my car than I use to be, and I enjoy it, so much to know and know a hell of a lot more because of you "keep up the good work"
I loved this video!!! I thought it was incredibly helpful! Thinking about purchasing a BMW hardtop convertible and this video gave me a lot to think about. So happy I watched this before making a decision, gave me a lot to consider. Would definitely love to see the opposite about why to buy a hardtop!
The other video is live on the channel :)
The previous owner on mine just used silicone to glue the springs and the cover into the hinge. Works fine and in place.
Thank you for the heads up. This is what people should be doing for different cars and not just highlighting what makes the car "good. You are awesome man
THE TOP IS DOWN!!!!! I REPEAT, THE TOP IS FINALLY DOWN😭
I don't get it lol
@@VehicleVirals since I started following your channel, this is literally the first time seeing your car with the top down for real
@@saautochronicles oh lol. I've only dropped it maybe once or twice before on video.
I need to do the same soon, it's been 6 months already. Gumi Pflege you can use on all other rubber seals around doors too. Foam tip you can super glue back (mine fallen off too).
Best to use some cloth, put it behind hinge before spraying lubricant so it catches all excess, there is a lot of fabric pieces, why stain them.
I have only owned one convertible in my history and that was a '97 Mustang. I didn't keep it too long but I definitely am glad I don't have the maintenance to go along with it. Thanks Christian for the how to and Negatives about the hardtop convertible. It looks nice. Looking forward to hearing about the project car! Keep up the good work and we'll see you in the next video! Best wishes and Peace out brother!
I appreciate you putting this video together. Quite insightful. Thanks (from a past E38 w/M-sport Fan). Thanks for the video.
Glad to find someone that loves his e93 as much as I do. Great maintenance vídeos! Thank you.
I don’t care what you said! I still love and always love this E93 and till now I still can’t afford it... 😂
I wonder if you could 3D print some of those replacement parts, like the clips for example. Also, should you also grease the actual motors for the convertible assembly?
Now reasons why you should buy one
I’ve bought my 2011 new and have had absolutely no problems at all....great car!
Lol 😂😂
When u get old your gonna be a talker lol like your not gonna stop for 24 hours lol
They look super sexy, you'll get compliments all day long, everyone goes wow when they see the top coming down or up, everyone will call your car a "Transformer".
You get 2 cars in 1, and did I dare mention how all the ladies want to ride in it and all the hating Bustas will be jealous of it??
soldierviejo Can confirm this. Showed it to the girl I had a crush on and she wanted a ride. 😂
I ordered mine from ECS tuning plus the adapter connectors and used Carly BMW to code out the warning sequence.
We bought a Mercedes SLC 200 just three months ago and we absolutely love it. Watched this video because I was curious about a hard top convertible with 4 seats - your tips for maintenance are really helpful to me! Gonna check everything tomorrow! Thanks man
Great job bro. I've always thought of that. Just wasn't sure if i should. Thanks for the heads up. Keep making those videos.
Subbed because you seem to be the only bmw CZcamsr that gives real maintenance cost numbers. You keep it so real
We need a episode how to clean the engine 😢
Yazz chrisfix
Could U not have used a silicone lubricant that is water repellant ? WD40 makes one too or any other brand? The thing is, the WD40 that U used smells & can damage rubber components & possibly stain you roof tops interior fabric.. Put it this way, I know Roofers that use it to remove roof tar from their tools & hands...😬 Also, U can always purchase an aftermarket warranty... EXPENSIVE! Do U feel that the 335is with the 2011 - 2013 will be going up in value ? What can be done to a 335is of those years to spruce up the HP? A chip 🤷🏼♂️ or what else ? Without stressing the stock twin turbo engine...
I took mine out🤣
erick r took what out ?
Chris fix has very good videos.. Very informative..

Great information. I have been considering this exact car and you offer excellent points to consider!
But DOES it come with rocket launchers, emblem saw and a six beverage cup holder? Lol
Great video! I had a Z4 hardtop convertible and loved it. Yes it is expensive. The hydraulics blew and it cost $2K to fix. Thank God I got an extended warranty.
It's no hydralics at a Z4! Maybe you mean the brakes?
In the E89, hydraulics is what operates the hard top roof.
Thank you! Good to know what maintenance we need to do, and appreciate the tutorial.
Thank you you've just saved me. The top clips where worrying me. Now i know i just have to buy them and try to install them myself
You explained it perfectly 🤦🏽♂️ and I spent more than a whole year looking for a used pair of LCI taillights. But it is fun when you put the top down😭
Great video: lots of useful info and quite amusing as well! The bit about conditioning the rubber seals and lubricating the joints was very clear. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together. I have a lowly 2007 325i SE E93 and need to attend to the same jobs... Cheers from the UK
yes, very useful information. but don't use wd40 - it leaves a sticky residue which will attract dust and turn into gunge. my bmw dealership suggested using a silicone lubricant.
Thank you so much for all you time spent researching to provide this informative video.
Your videos are very valuable. Thank you so much for all your information and advice.
"I LIKE CIVICS THOO" made me crack up! But hey, what's to argue? It's fast, it's affordable, and it's practical! Sometimes I wish I preferred a Civic over a BMW......
Exactly they are pretty fast especially if you tune them correctly
Youd save alot of money if you did😂😂
I always have that bad feeling lol what if the top breaks down, what if the hydraulic fluid leaks lol but definitely i will not swap it for a coupe 🤷🏻♂️😂 excellent upload 👌🏻
Also great video how to do maintenance. Maybe a separate video on whole maintenance and cleaning would be good.
Thank you for the cleaning tips & how to lube the seals, bro! I just got a VW Eos hardtop convertible & I want to make sure I maintain it well.
czcams.com/video/40fKEBwXQ7k/video.html what I just saw🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Damn dude i haven't had any trouble with my too yet hooe it stays that way lol
That's so cool Christian, cause I need to do mines! Lol. Ready for the"Why you should get a Hardtop convertible" . You Live in Florida, and I Live in California. That answers our reasons! Lol
💯
Ive had 428, 435i and 335i hard top convertibles. I now drive an e93 M3 convertible. Never had an issue with ANY of them save for one tension string on my 130,000 mile M3.
thanks bro for the video, i also have an e93lci same interior. i never thought to maintain the top.
Put some double sided tape
Under the roof hinges on each side!
Love the video bro. I experienced the same issue with the plastic molds with my 2010 E93. However, you did leave out the fact that you will always get LEAKS at the driver and passenger door pillars regardless of proper maintenance.
I hardly experience leaks.
What i can do to repair my leak on front pillar connection driver one , right side its ok , and i proper grease them like u . But i still get the leaks , i got to the bmw and they checked the leaking tunnel and they said its ok idk why its happening . My rubber its in good condition but at left side driver seems to acumulate water in there.
Great Video! What if the roof top moldings are gone, how long can you drive the car without them before something else breaks or what have you?
Very helpful video. I am looking to purchase bmw convertible.. and I will make sure to check the condition of the rubber part..
Best way to end off an all nighter studying for midterms
All nighter? How did u do it 😭😭

Thanks for sharing ' I have 2 bmw e82 118d coupe in the household and thinking of viewing a bmw hardtop today the same as yours in black ' so I'll be checking all this you have shared before buying ' thanks 👍
I’ve owned a 335 convertible and currently have a e93 m3 for 4 years now with zero top issues. The only issue I’ve had was water In the trunk underneath the battery tray which rotted out the power cable supposedly it’s a common issue.
Don't get rid of it! Weld it shut. No more maintenance, increased frame strength and never getting caught in the rain with the top down. Thanks for the e93 videos. Not only are the lights and trunk hard to find, but before you started your build so were e93 videos.
what the actual fuck is the point of owning a convertible if you’re going to weld its top shut
Hi guy: I have a 2012 BMW 335i Convertible, and like you, every time I open up the top I think " What about if some day It will break down !!!". Right now I have a clunking noise that it seems to be coming from the right hand side towards the hinder seats. Is there any rubber material that I could sandwich somewhere to eliminate that clunking sound ??
Same thoughts I knew it. Idk what location you're referring to, so I don't know
My uncle had both an E93 M3 and 335i, respectively. They didn't have any of these problems, but the M3 had the dreaded catastrophic rod bearing failure. The engine was replaced under warranty, but my uncle traded it and got the 335i. Ironically, the 335i was a much better car. He had it for about 5-6 years and all the common problems were repaired under warranty. If you know these cars, these were the turbo wastegates, fuel injectors, high-pressure fuel pump, VANOS, and water pump. Now he has an F10 M5 and an M4 convertible and so far they haven't given him any major issues.
Have you ever checked or replaced the hydraulic fluid? I have a E93 M-Sport as well and def stay on top of things...good job. 🏁
I like your channel because it keeps me from buying the BMW I want
😂😂
Same I and that was my dream model to 😥
Not that clever. Just Gotta Know how to maintain stuff if meant seriously. But funny comment like your Humor :D
All I'm hearing is "It's expensive". I've always been told, if you cannot afford it, don't buy it. And everyone knows BMW's are expensive to maintain
If you (in general) are going to DIY your repairs/installs, don't complain about things being difficult. There is reasons why there are specialists for specific brands of vehicles
Nice car though, certainly takes pride in the vehicle 👌🏻
Weird, I have a 2011 Volvo c70 hard top convertible. I put over 80k miles on it and have owned it for 8 years. I haven't had to clean the seals or the moving parts on it and it still works like a dream 🤷♂️
Good video...just a suggestion and a couple of additions. Perhaps a better name is "Things to Consider if You Want to Buy" rather than "Don't Buy" - also, another really painful thing to work on is the thin cords/springs that pull the rear pillar covers/cloth away from the hinge mechanism...if one breaks it's not that expensive but you'll learn some new words trying to replace them. The lubrication points you need to consider are some are better with lithium grease, some silicone, and a few just plain old 3-in--1 oil...that's what the dealers use at least. There are a few more lubrication points under the trunk lid and a few more "slide" points...not hinges but places where something just slides into place. I owned a 2009 e93 (328i) for 7 years...other then the cord breaking it worked flawlessly. I just upgraded to a new e93 335i M-Sport...nothing like riding in a convertible (even if it is a good bit heavier)
The drawbacks don’t outweigh the positives.
this is why i hate youtube comments. people stating their opinion like its fact. just read how many other people commented here that they have a convertible and love it. why can't anybody just include in their comment something like "i'm sure a lot of people have a different opinion, but in my opinion...". the reason why is because people like to be super aggressive and try to trigger people with a differing opinion. that's why youtube comments are unhealthy.
I have an e93 and I love it, no issues.
Those are some wicked, sweet rims...
Any ID on them ?
BBS Rims are always cool Plus they fit to pretty much every car
VMR 803s
Wow ! Thank you . I never really pay attention to the BMW like that.
From my experience with the 335i convert dad's had his for 10 years now and the only problem he's had with his are the led tail lights blowing and that's a new tail light assembly
Why'd you upload when I'm still at school 😂😂
Whoops :)

I have had my e93 335i since 2007.... I’ve never had issues with my roof “touch wood” but the amount of money I spent through out the years I could of bought a Ferrari... The problems I had were all under the bonnet. Had all new coils countless times in the end it was my wiring harness connectors seemed to of burnt out. My injectors all changed to new edition bmw parts... high pressure fuel pump failed.. Nox sensor was replaced twice and now it’s be Hex coded and removed from my ecu. This all started with a thermostat then everything else failed but now my 335i is spot on.. Has bigger turbos downpipe, Cat delete, racing coil over suspension kit. Car has 3 different modes I’ve set and it’s a true beast!! Here in the uk ppl move out the way hearing my car rubbling through their chests.

I have a 2008 bmw 328i hardtop convertible in the same color. Got the bmw style 249 wheels on it. Looks beautiful.
I love me M235i convertible. Bmw techs told me that the hard tops have problems and leaking issues and once they go out of alignment they are almost impossible to get back correctly to prevent leaks, they said they have no problems with soft tops, one reason because it is flexible and can easily be put back in alignment if there is damage done.
