Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000T, Full Alert: Louisville, KY (Jefferson Co. Tornado Siren Test, HD)

As some of you may know, Louisville is famous for many things. But to us siren enthusiasts, one of those things includes their numerous Thunderbolt sirens that are still up and running. Even though the city is not too far away from where I live, I often have trouble making it to their tests since they test on an kinda awkward day for me, the second Tuesday of the month. So, since I was on fall break, I decided to head out to one of their two 4/5 port Thunderbolts since I haven't heard one before. This one is located at the LG&E Substation, and is pretty famous as it's been recorded a few times before from fellow siren enthusiasts. To me, it wasn't the loudest I've recorded, but that buzzy, 4/5 port, Model 2Tish sound definitely made this recording sound pretty awesome. Despite the lack of an extra SD card for my other camera, the recording still came out pretty awesome with tones included.

Ah, those echos are pretty awesome. Too bad they have the delay on the FCTB's set too short, would have been neat for it to have a better wind-down.
+Stormsetter4 Definitely! That wind down is just too short. I also wish Louisville's sirens did attack like in Paducah, but oh well, I guess I can't ask for too much, lol.

+DSRX100 I can remember a couple of times Attack was tested, here. One time, apparently, was an error, and I'm not sure about the other time. But the Attack sounds kind of weird. The sirens wind up, and then do that abbreviated wind down instead of the traditional sustained wail. It also sounded like with each wind up and down the rotator would also start and stop.
I've watched a video where that happened. Really strange.

I lived by the fire station on 35th street! it has a 2001 DC that sounds like a Thunderbolt 100t. it's amazing!!

What is siren polling?
It's when they send out a command that "asks" each siren if it worked properly. The siren's controller will then answer back.
That's quite simple. :D
IIRC, Springfield, IL's T-128 system has a similar function.
