That Pulisic left footed strike was insane. Beautiful! His ability to shoot and pass so well with both feet makes him even more dangerous when playing at the 10. And he still has that SPEED! Such a great signing

For the record, Pioli has always been giving Chukwueze starts. His 1st start was our 5th game of the season and his 2nd start with our 7th game of the season. In Serie A alone, in 31 matches of which Chukwueze was available for maybe 21-23 (due to injury + AFCON), he started 9. That’s like 40%, taking into account that his competitor has been brilliant from day 1
Pioli has been giving the dude chance after chance and deserves a lot of the credit for the fruit we saw in the last two matches

I think the main reason was that Chuk and Romero looked very poor at RW at first while Pulisic was doing great there. Now Chuk is doing well, but still if we start this formation we have no RW left on the bench, so it's also tricky. I think we'll use this formation interchangeably with others then see what they do during transfer market.

Once pulisic gets used to playing the 10 this team will be lights out. There were times when I was yelling at the tv saying "drop into the spaces" "why is he playing so high, like a false 9?" Pulisic needs to drop into space to make sure he is helping create space around him and getting as many touches as possible.
At times, you could tell he didn't know where he should have been. Once he gets used to the position, I have no doubt he will be pivotal in creating a lot of chances and make milans attack as dangerous inters.

You’re entirely correct about the defensive imbalance when we play with Pulisic as the 10. If the center backs are firing on all cylinders then it’s less of a concern. But when we won the title we had Tomori and Kalulu having the times of their lives along with Kessie in the middle. I miss Kessie so much. We haven’t replaced him yet. If we get one player like Kessie then we will be an absolute powerhouse.

Nailed it again brother. Well done. I hear your skepticism about playing the 4231 with pulisic week in week out. But really what we lacked against inter in that drubbing, and almost all the UCL games was a true CAM. And pulisic is not only our best right wing but actually his best position is as a ten and then probably on the left. It’s bc he is faster with the ball at his feet than RLC and makes split second descions better, often choosing the progressive pass as opposed to slowing the play bc he has NO WEAK foot as you can tell from his left footed striking ability. And something that is never talked about is how amazing he is at receiving the ball on the half turn and directly attacking the defenders. But he does it in a truly Eden hazard esc way. Ruben although extremely athletic and physical and smart doesn’t possess pulisics guile, spatial awareness and dribbling in tight spaces. However. RLC played as an 8, 6 and even RWB many times for Chelsea. So pair him with tijani in the back and you have a midfield that can rival many of the better ones in serie A

P.S. For me, Pioli shouldn't stay, the season hasn't started now, Milan have never been competitive for the Scudetto, they exited the Champions League in the group stage, they exited the Italian Cup in the first match (we'll see what happens in the Europa League but the one with Roma is the first real match we play, Rennes and S. Sofia are teams of a lower level). I also have many other criticisms to make to him, especially from the point of view of the game and the incorrect use of a very strong player like Reijnders (if he had gone to Inter instead of Milan we would now already be talking about an 80 million player) . If he stays, we'll most likely get another injury crisis during the fall just like pretty much every year under him. We'll have a few months when we grind out results playing absolutely horrible football, but in the end get to UCL without much drama, but we won't challenge for any trophies either.
If it'd be up to me, we'd need to at least get to Europa League final (probably beating Leverkusen on the way) and to have convincing performances in the remaining big games this season (Roma x2, Juve, Inter).

  • @Christian-rz9it
    @Christian-rz9it Před měsícem

I agree Pioli deserves to stay, we are now able to see snippets of what he can do with some quality signings. He won the Scudetto before and if he gets the signings he needs to fill in the gaps next season. I think Inter are going to have a difficult time with Milan come next season.
I was wrong about Chukweze he is such a quality winger, he really just needed more playing time. Its paying dividends but for the future I find it hard to see how the combo of Chukweze and Pulisic lives on unless some alterations to the team are made that leave out Ruben the majority of the time.
I think we do need a solid CDM or at least a box to box CM that has solid defensive capabilities. I think we also need to reinforce our Midfield with a creative CM/CAM I think Rejinders has the quality to become one of the best in the world within the next 2 years. Christian from Athletico Parenese in the Brasilian Serie A is 22, a box to box CM, costs 10 mil and will be one of the greatest Midfielders to grace the game. I hope we snag him before another club like Inter, Real, the prem or Barcelona swoop in for him. He is magic and his ceiling is as high as he can take it. Regardless A CDM is needed Fofana is good but I think we need someone with more footballing IQ than Fofana. Maybe Thuram or another candidate.
Lastly a defender. We need a very solid backup for Tomori or Gabbia. Lacroix would be a good addition but Bonguorno/ Calafiori would be great as well. And hopefully we sign Zirkzees but Juventus are absolutely fuming that he wants to come to Milan and are trying as many back door tricks as possible to land him. Trying to have Bayern trigger a buy back clause to do business. We have a player that Bayern wants and I doubt that Juventus will end up getting what they want even with their piss poor management and overhyped team. People have become accustomed with the Juventus of the last 7-8 years and have seemed to forget who Milan truly is.

As for pioli its clear he picked up the pace and its finally making some good decisions but for me the only thing that could convince me he can stay another season is winning the uel, milan needs to fight for titles and scudetto season aside pioli´s decision where the ones that left us without a title fight on serie a and especially on champions league

    I don’t know about Pioli.
As you said multiple times, it feels like he has already peeked.
I understand what you are saying about the injuries and all, but isn’t it part of his responsibility as well?
I know it would be questionable to fire him now after what will be a good season, regardless of where we land in EL, but sooner or later, we will need to step up on the coaching side as well.
To be a top team, we need a top-tier manager, and if we don’t win the EL, it will be an excellent chance to change leadership after two years without trophies.

Guys, this is exactly what I've been hoping to see: Pulisic at CAM and Chukuweze on the right wing in the lineup. With this formation, we really need a skilled finisher with pace and dribbling abilities. If AC can persist in trying to bring in Jonathan David and Zirkzee, I genuinely believe we'll have no trouble having one of our strikers become the top goal scorer in Serie A and perhaps even win the Golden Boot. Without a proficient finisher, we will find it challenging to instill fear in our opponents. Forza Milan

With this new placement of Pulisic been at the attack... makes me wonder if there could be a posibility to put both Pulisic and RLC together, like... Puslic as a Striker and RCL as an Attacking Midfielder or viceversa, i feel like leaving RCL out of the equation reduces the attacking potential that this formation could have.

after doing some thinking I don't agree that that 4-2-3-1 wouldn't work agains bigger teams like inter.. I think teams like that you have to start strong on the attack and try to get goals, and if at half if you down switch tacts and put in guys that could help defend and get the center goals. If he sticks with the 11 I think it get the guys that have improved cofadances and by the time the big game is here it won't be a problem. I think the coach is going to stay. Think the real question is who going to be the center forward next season. will the play a false 9 and put CP in the middle? will they go with two strikers with Leo and CP, or will the find someone new. as of know the don't have a clear Groude replacement.

For the first time in the season i can say i am excited for this team. I believe this milan team has a chance to win the Europa league given the form the team is in. Pulisic no doubt is the best signing of the season, this guy has completely changed the attacking problems of milan made them excellent. Samuel chukweze has finally arrived and is now ready to torch the opposition defence, this is a sigh relief for theo and leao who had the burden of doing most of the attack. I can say with this attack i am confident we can win Europa league although Roma themselves are on a rise, so pioli and co has to be careful. Agree with ur assessment of yacine, he still growing in the role of a regista but he is showing signs of improvement. My only issue is with the defence, i don't like Malik thiaw he is still a liability with poor decision making and poor track back, he makes me mad. He has to be sold and a legit defender has to be brought in that doesn't cause problem for tomori and gabbia. I have been saying from the beginning of the season that we need a defensive midfielder but mr cardinale thinks defence is not important. I hope they finally leant their lessons and bring in a CDM. I still don't like cardinale, he is a guy who had no idea who is AC Milan and thinks he knows more about football than a Milan legend, i still want him out of the club.

If Stefano Pioli doesn't get sacked by the end of this season, He will most certainly get sacked sometime next season. Yes, we may have been on a consistent run of form after our injury problems. This is due to the fact of the new players we got this season. But next season, once all the Serie A teams know this Milan side very well, they will try to find ways to park the bus, counter/disrupt or even man mark some of our players not allowing us to play our football. And if that happens, we will be going back to the banter era as I believe that Stefano Pioli is not the right man for the job as he cannot take our team to further and greater heights. #ForzaMilan
