He can go lower, but only whales can hear it, so there's no point. :P
Maybe elephants. They can go pretty low :)
Omg that is hilarious, true but hilarious.
No, no. Only Wales can hear it. So, id be fine 😆
😂💀
Wooooooooow, so this is what started your VoicePlay journey and introduced you to the ancient dragon that is Geoff! 😂
"Man, shut up, Santa Claus. Ain't nobody got time for this, man, we're trying to hear the boogie man." Okay, I am now compelled to hit the like and subscribe buttons.
“I’m not much of a singer, but I know what it’s like to open your throat.” 😳
If you watch this video with captions turned on, they call that last note “subterranean”!
Geoff demonstrates at least a five-octave range in the final moments of this song. You can count them. :D
arent there only 6 or 7 ranges you can sing at?
@@theirishviking9278 Interesting question. Most untrained singers have a vocal range of about an octave and a half. A normal piano has 88 keys. An "octave" in general is a series of eight notes and there's eleven octaves represented on a regular piano keyboard. The "range" of voices of people who sing are generally grouped as Sopranos, Altos, Contraltos, Tenors, Baritones and Bass, and I believe that's right in line with the numbers 6 & 7 "ranges" which you mentioned, with some male voices able to reach Contra-tenor (very high) and Contra-bass (very low) and some females able to reach Coloratura (very high). Vocal training exercises and concentrating on breath control can extend the vocal range too. Mr. Castelluci has a very large vocal range indeed. :)
Is a C5-E1 slide good for someone who doesnt sing (literally my whole range)
:) "Use it or lose it" my vocal coach always said. @@Guest.7289
When Geoff hit that E1 note, this was the moment I loved Acapella groups like Voiceplay and Homefree
Right? Almost spiritual
and Pentatonix!! I love some of the Bass parts with Avi, but also getting used to Matt. I love Pentatonix's cover of Mr Grinch with Matt. Also their Nightmare before christmas cover "Making Christmas" is a personal favourite.
@@amandasamson4513 Absolutely!
Matt and Avi are both incredibly talented and amazing bass singer!
It was Tim in Home Free's Ring of Fire cover that got me, but only because I saw that one first. Geoff has quickly become my favorite.
Wow, 30 likes in a month! new personal High record!
That look on your face with Geoff's last note was priceless. And, Geoff had credited Tim Foust with teaching him how to do that.
Geoff credited him with growl, not subharmonic. Tim don't do subharmonics
@@hopelessant8992 Actually Tim does and Geoff did in one of his tutorial videos.
@@tishatittle1010 Well there's never been a clip of him doing subharmonics, and the tutorial you're talking abt is Geoff crediting Tim for the growl.
@@hopelessant8992 Yeah actually there has been clips of Tim doing them, as a matter of fact. And I've seen that video of Geoff's too. And he crediting Tim with it, and that it hurts like hell the first 500 times doing it, so yeah.....but I'm done with this convo.... You need to pay attention more, Tim just do subharmonics as much as Geoff does them but he does do them.
@@tishatittle1010 You need to pay more attention to the tutorial more, I've watched it 3 times, and he was talking about the growl and credits Tim with it. He credited David Larson with the subharmonics. And no, the closest thing at Tim doing the subharmonics is chest-fry. Find any of their song or any vocal range videos with Tim. No subharmonics.
Your face at the end is the only correct response to hearing Geoff that low for the first time. Hahaha
As for crazy voices while singing on pitch, that is exactly how I practice my NPCs voices for my D&D campaigns.
-Your Friendly Neighborhood Druid
Oddly, Geoff has said he considers himself a baritone. haha And he said that trying to hit those low notes "straight" was hurting/straining which is why he moved to doing the subharmonics.
Geoff is awesome, great range, tone and movement. And the others moved effortlessly from smooth harmonies to character voices.
He is. Listen to where the he has agility. it is high not low. Meaning the lower lows are just flat notes as opposed to his high ones which have "movement".
@@Iansco1 I’d consider his middle, not really highs. Highs can too but his mid is where it is most so. 1st octave notes and low 2nd rarely can have that sound but he’d need to have a really good day and warm up a bunch. but we all know this. anyways generally I agree. Regardless, he’s really good. 😌
@@sprumf i heard he declared himself as a baritone with a natural bass range
his natural singing range is a baritone
he's trained himself to do the lower notes
That last note is down around 33 hertz. Both Tim and Geoff can sing in the same basso profundo range.
It was an E1 so around 41 hertz
Just to throw it out there for those who don't know what this means, humans can hear frequencies down to about 20Hz. Hertz is the number of cycles per second. Obviously in this case it's the number of sound waves per second. Below 20Hz, most people can't really hear the tone. They might feel it, but not really hear it. Elephants can hear down to 14Hz. Some whales can hear down to 7Hz while under water. For comparison, earthquakes usually have frequencies of 0.01Hz to 10Hz.
Listening to Geoff makes you feel, as a man, like you speak in a squeaky falsetto all the the time.
Geoff, Tim and Avi are the best!
Yes, they are!!!
Geoff tops it for me. Love them all but, he is just smooth.
LMFAOOOO why’d you have to attack santa like that 😂 i’m dead
I love the way you just stare into the camera during the replay of the ending. XD That deadpan "seriously?" reaction to Geoff's range is just so relatable.
Go back and listen at just after 2 minutes. Immediately after Layne says "to add a little spice". Geoff does a little low frequency run that is gorgeous.
Tim Foust taught Avi to low and Geoff said Tim taught him to go real low. There is a video comparing who can go the lowest between Tim, Avi, and Geoff in a bass off. They showed all the lowest notes of the three and Tim went the lowest with A0. But Geoff has a smoother low while Tim has a raw low.
I believe Avi learnt his craft in the classical operatic world. He was an opera major when he joined PTX
I’m so glad this is back
YOU ARE ON EVERY SINGLE VP VIDEO EVER
Went digging to find your first encounter with VoicePlay, and I love that it was the Oogie Boogie Song -- It's so good, and your reaction was perfection. Your facial expression as you played that last line over and over -- priceless!
Omg your stares at the end made me laugh really hard! :D I agree, the only thing we can do to that low note is staring :D Geoff is an amazing bass vocal. Great reaction!
IKR he sounds like he could be the original singer for OGGIE in the movie!
you should really do a reaction to Geoffs cover of the song the headless horseman it will send chills down your spine
2023 I've been watching your videos for quite a while, and let me tell you HOW MUCH I loved the fact that you haven't known Geoff Castelucci up until then.
I was hoping to see a genuine reaction, and my dude this video with your reaction made my day in late 2023.
Peace homie
It was an E1 and he, Avi, and Tim can all hit it, but Geoff and Avi do it musically best.
DAve= "This guy is low"
Me= "it's 2 mins in, you ain't seen nothing yet!"
I'm typing this out while on pause because I'm anticipating your reaction to the ending. I'll edit after the end *rubs Hands*
It's 9:20 AM and I've been watching your reacts since 3 AM...and I still got some I want to see! Have you done any reacts to parody songs? I'd love to see your reaction to Ray Stevens "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" (and several other classics from him)
EDIT- You did not disappoint! I'm sitting here laughing as you give a stare to the screen as you replay that ending. I think this is the lowest Geoff has gone.
I do love this video from VoicePlay for the things you mention, but Geoff's low notes and them singing in character are the top reasons.
Speaking of singing in character, have you listened to King Diamond? On the album of "Them" he does several characters, add to that the entire album was storytelling, with the songs being different chapters. One of the best songs to showcase that is ... think it was "Tea" (or maybe Tea Time)
Wow! I've never seen this video. I've got the soundtrack for The Nightmare Before Christmas.😂
I saw a Avi vs Tim vs Geoff video and everyone hit B0 but only Geoff hit A0. Thats the last note on the piano. Insane.
Was this an old video? You've reacted to a couple of Voiceplay songs (Just Sing and Boy Bands in 5 Minutes) and also "The Bare Necessities" by their bass, Geoff Castellucci. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to see Voiceplay reactions, they're my favorite! But, in the video you said you hadn't heard them before. Just curious. Love to see people impressed by Geoff. I actually prefer him to Tim Foust, myself. Lol
Yep! Old video!
"Hades low" 😄
Nice reaction, Geoff is amazing, it would be good if you reacted to the legendary bass singer named J. D. Sumner, there's a video called worlds lowest bass singer JD Sumners all time lowest notes, or let us break bread together in Bill Gaither's channel.
Absolutely stunning
Geoff just did a video on his channel of Elvis version's Down a month ago. In it JD Sumner did a C1.
Geoff also got down to that note after 80 tries in it. Great video.
In Voiceplay 's Halo he did a B0.
Love your reviews Dave keep them coming.
Geoff has such a crazy deep voice! :) i love all of their video's! :)
Gotta Love your reaction Dave!!!
Good to see this video back up!
You made the exact same face I did when I first heard Geoff hit that low note.
Singing low needs certain body constitution. Singing high is more learnable in comparison. Tim, Geoff and Avi are gifted. Tim has more if the natural resonating voice, Geoff is an exellently trained singer as he shows in this performance. Real Broadway Musical Quality. And the others of voice play have amazing voice modulation, too. Home Free is more on the harmonic and arrangement side which makes them unique in their field. Pentatonics I yet have to catch up. Exited :-h Nice reaction by the way, enjoyable.
So glad your videos are back!!!
I'm so glad you finally did a Voiceplay reaction! Love them so much
Their 21 Pilot Mashup is amazing with some soul rumbling bass as well.
Geoff: insane godly bass Dave: WHAT WAS THAT
Your reactions are so much FUN to watch.
Thank you so much 😁
old video but the E 13 flat note is always nuts.
Now you have to check out Voctave. Their bass is good, but not stupid low like Geoff, Tim, or Avi....it's their soprano you need to hear. She can sing as high as Geoff can sing low, and her tone is *gorgeous*. I recommend the Great Movie Medley - a medley of music from the soundtracks of 9 movies scored by the great John Williams. They are incredible!
For the low stuff, you've really got to give Jonathan Young a go. He's got an amazing cover of Misty Mountains... one of I See Fire... and so many more. He's got some really gorgeous low pieces, and he does hard rock and heavy metal covers of all sorts of songs. Heck, you wouldn't be going wrong with his cove of Friends on the Other Side ;)
The B4-E1 and how long he held the E1 for is so impressive😭
I kept forgetting to watch your reaction because this video is so good.
On a piano or keyboard, that was the note E1 at the end. He also jumps 2 octaves somewhere in the middle of that.
Try Tim Storms, he has twice the range of Tim and Geoff....and goes lower, he's in the guineas book of World records for both. I'm always surprised so few seem to have heard of him, my guess is because he isn't in a group.
That was a sub- harmonic E1... an E1!!!!!!!! Lowest sustained note from a human i have heard in 65 years!!!
This man went EARTHS CORE low!!! 🤣🤣 talent, man!!
Ooh that's great that you somehow got these older vids back!
It’s a miracle to be honest. I’m so excited!
@@whatitdodave Yeah it really is. Were they saved somewhere or did youtube give them back somehow? Anyway its still wonderful
They restored the old channel for me and my videos was still there. I thought the hacker had deleted them but instead he just put them on private.
@ 4:53 You looking at the camera - Me What, what did I do now?!?
If you like Voice Play and Home Free, also check out Pentatonix. You can start with their Daft Punk medley and take it from there.
Your face on last note 🤣🤣🤣
Faust was a G#1 in misty mountain cold.
Geoff hit an E1 in this.
Faust can actually go 2 notes lower than geoff in perfect key and 3 notes lower than Avi.
Still, I ain't going take sides cuz there all an octive lower than me and all the girls freak at their voices 😂
My bro you good
About hear over and over, I'm doing this for two days already kkkkkkk
Geoff Is the best!! Man
4:26 Yeah..I know. C-R-A-Z-Y. This group is a gem.
I love how you had to check that Goeff wasn't Tim Foust. LOL
Im Actually a Fan of Both
I Think Ive Liked Home Free a Yr Im an Austin Brown Fan and Just a Few Days Ago Started Likin Geoff I Always Knew They were round when I watched The Sing Off on CZcams but then I heard Mr Grinch and thats What made Me a Fan
Boy you need to hear Ken Turner on Rainbow of Love. Much lower than both Tim and Geoff
it was this moment he would learn of geoff the dragon slayer, and he has followed him ever since. "ya'll ain't gonna stop and tell me that there is lower then that" oh my poor, poor past dave, if only you knew then what you know now.
It was all uphill from here! What a ride it’s been!
I had that same look the first time I heard Geoff hit those down yonder notes. Thats right. Down yonder. Below note notes.
"The Brown Note." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He works his vocals every day. Practice, practice ,pratice.
If you want ANOTHER road to go down, check out Voctave too
Listen to take me home country roads. 16 tons!!!!
Misty mtns..... that was geoff too
I know it's an old one, but can you react to Zombies vs. Hillbillies - Survivor (VoicePlay vs. Home Free)?
geoff really do be trowing out a c#1 like nothing
I think there's a video that has a lower note than this one. Check out Home Free's "Friends in Low Places"
Voiceplay doing "Daddy Sang Bass" and "The Headless Horseman"
tim faust's lowest note is a b which is lower than either avi or geoff
Geoff here us giving hope to us...baryton.
Because yes ...he's actually a baryton not a bass , and as a fellow baryton, singing us not meant for us ,it's either really high head voice tenor note or bass deep low notes ,wich is in both case a pain in the ass to translate to a more "medium/slight bass" range
And Geoff just shows that when you work hard enough, you're just in the right place to beat both tenor and bass at their own game
Just realized i wrote "baryton" instead of "baritone" ahah french getting back at me
An E 1 !!!!
I'm almost sure that they ALL can hit these notes, but Tim Foust hits a A0 in SOLD. All of the BASS singers are awesome.
It was not tim it was adam rupp
@@MonsieurMaskedMan It is Tim. If you can PROVE your statement correct, then I will apologize. But in my opinion, do dome research BEFORE you make a statement.
@@donnilloyd1355 look at clap it up dan's channel tim confirmed that adam rupp was throat singing and his lowest is B0 in fishing in the boondocks
@@calebcooper2841 Thank you for the Info, Caleb. And MonsieurMaskedMan, I apologize.
For Geoff going low, have you reacted to Voiceplay's Moana Medley?
Nope not yet!
Someone should tell him to turn on the subtitles
i've seen many reaction to this song, but that's the only correct way to react to it. just repeat it for 15 seconds (i just repeated it for like 30 times)
Hey you respect Santa you hear me you respect Santa
Can you do a reaction this is Halloween the nightmare before chirstmas voiceplay
Pls react to top 10 video games
Yes it was lower Tim hit a G1 and Geoff hit an E1 witch is 2 notes lower. I don't think anyone alive can go lower, I might be wrong but I don't think so.
08042022. The reaction to mr Geoff Castellucci are still the same. Maybe even more intense. You can't get rid of him.
Check Citizen Queen
That was a E1...
Try the one they did for Moana.
Dude play the whole song at a bit higher volume. Low volume smooths off the fact Geoff has a great "edge" that fans of bass singers really like. That E1 sounds really great at a little higher volume.
Its higher in my headphones. The audio you guys are hearing is edited to the appropriate levels to match my voice so nothing is overblown. The audio level in my headphones and what you guys are hearing is different.
Btw how about your main account?
Voctave
geoffs lowest note is an A0 like tf
That's a E1 Note
hey WHAT IT DO do you mine reacting to MR COWBOY62 grandpa live please
😂😂😂
if you have ever listened to Tim Storms, he will get lower than that last note. I have watched some of your videos, but don't know if you listened to Tim Storms yet. holy mother freaking............
Humans: there was a G-7??
Elephants:
Subharmonic E-1
D1 i think. Tim was about the same. D.E,F1s
if we put this on a daycore (opposite of nightcore)... ) 0_0
Bro, I had to come back and ask you to please listen to VP as they join with Anthony Gargiula for Golden hour. You will thank me later.
I already reacted to it.
React voiceplay acapop Disney villains
Please!!!!
Tim is still a deeper bass, but Geoff is just as amazing!
Actually Geoff has lower chest voice
@@Marcell0Bass but not overall lower, Geoff bottoms out at a C1, but Tim goes to an A0.
Reed Cardon yes but growl doesn’t count when your talking about who is naturally lower plus Tim’s lowest growl is B0 he confirmed the A0 was A1
@@Marcell0Bass you're right
