This has a Doki Doki Literature Club quality, in that the cheerful pre-horror sequence really holds its own. That cartoon was actually really well put together, and I'd totally dig if it was turned into a proper series outside of the whole VHS horror aesthetic. The art and voice acting honestly feel professional in their quality. It's crazy to think that this spawned out of a horror game made by one guy. Well done.

I'd watch a whole season of this. A bunch of animated friends in a goofy kid's show that eventually delves into a horror mystery. That'd be pretty neat to watch... wait what was I doing?
Coming back here after a long time, i must say that this is actual cinematographic genius of horror. It truly fascinates me how the lore of fnaf can be pictured by such a masterpiece. The concept of cruel acts of murder and pure evil getting shown before my eyes in such a graphic, dispairful and violent way is really... reflective, if that makes sense. This is high quality horror cinematography. Not with cheap jumpscares and shit storyline, but the kind of horror that makes me go through sheer dread. Its amazing.
I feel like we have to consider something. By the end of this series, everyone moves on to the afterlife after the horror attraction burns down, and William burns with it. I think it’s safe to say that Joseph knows that there is a way out for the other children. That’s because the other children have qualms with William, the guy who murdered them. Why else would Joseph say “I don’t want to be alone?” Because his qualm is not with his father, despite his terrible deed. His qualm is with his brother. Joseph, in this episode at least, believes that he can never forgive his brother. Because of Michael, he was tormented and eventually died a tragically brutal death. So for Joseph, the only way to move on is if Michael dies (like how William died in the finale), or that he forgives him (which is something he believes that will never happen). Therefore, if the other children manage to get William and make him pay; they will be free to move on to the afterlife. Joseph won’t be able to do so, he’s angry at his brother, and as a result he will be left alone. In the end, he is ultimately a tormented child who fears nothing more than loneliness. Hence why, in my honest opinion, this VHS tape is his last ditch effort to convince everyone else that this is their new eternity, so they could stay with him.

To be fair, some of the videos jumpscare you, such as the Bonnie Joint Movement Test, Balloon Boy.mp4, etc. Even this one kinda does with the sudden appearance of someone in a springlock suit, while the music glitches. Although I can see where you're coming from, it usually uses phycological methods to screw with your mind.

The image of the Puppet’s smashed mask is pretty chilling, especially when put together with Michael’s brother’s lines. The Fazbear Entertainment characters actually seem really cute and charming in a cartoon setting. I kinda wanna write my own fanfics with my interpretations of how they would act.

Yeah Scott went unnecessarily sci fi and then really stupid and silly with Afton cult made of edgy teens, skin suits, vr games possessing people...I miss the old lore of 1- 3. I don't hate 4, I actually think the introduction of the bite victim and Mike bully are great. But SL to me is when it went downhill and Afton faking out everyone for the millionth time.

It got really, really stupid and lost that creepy, yet oddly nostalgic vintage vibe. It became way too futuristic and overly complicated and lost a lot of that eerie realism that the first 4 games portrayed so well. A haunted, rotting animatronic will always be scarier than sci-fi robots.

Something funny I noticed is that the music playing in the field is featured in a Don Hertzfeldt short film called "It's Such a Beautiful Day". I can only ever relate that music to that film and it doesn't make me feel fearful, moreso sentimental. Somehow the face at 3:49 perfectly captures the "stranger" concept that was so terrifying as a child. This is what makes the idea of the "Purple Guy" truly scary, not a supervillain voice like in canon imho.

The way that they distort faces is horrifying. The image of a face staring at me from inside Fredbear literally gave me chills.

I’m gonna be honest, I’m way too old for something like this and I would absolutely binge-watch it if someone ever made it.
The image of the Puppet’s smashed mask is pretty chilling, especially when put together with Michael’s brother’s lines.
The Fazbear Entertainment characters actually seem really cute and charming in a cartoon setting. I kinda wanna write my own fanfics with my interpretations of how they would act.

Yeah Scott went unnecessarily sci fi and then really stupid and silly with Afton cult made of edgy teens, skin suits, vr games possessing people...I miss the old lore of 1- 3. I don't hate 4, I actually think the introduction of the bite victim and Mike bully are great. But SL to me is when it went downhill and Afton faking out everyone for the millionth time.

Time travel is now a thing and human androids. I just miss clunky old animationics.
It got really, really stupid and lost that creepy, yet oddly nostalgic vintage vibe. It became way too futuristic and overly complicated and lost a lot of that eerie realism that the first 4 games portrayed so well. A haunted, rotting animatronic will always be scarier than sci-fi robots.

Something funny I noticed is that the music playing in the field is featured in a Don Hertzfeldt short film called "It's Such a Beautiful Day". I can only ever relate that music to that film and it doesn't make me feel fearful, moreso sentimental. I'm pretty sure it in no way references the film but I wonder if Squimpus is familiar with Hertzfeldt's work.

i find it quite interesting, and i don't know why he used the famous czech symphonic poem "Vltava" like a theme song for hell, because it really isn't sad and is talking about a river instead.
