Jocko would appreciate Game of Thrones, because most of the main characters develop their leadership skills throughout the seasons, some for improvement, others get corrupted or greedy. Bravery can come from unexpected characters.

Fact! I was introduced to the Office by one of my PSGs, who happened to be black and the worlds most competent NCOs. I admit it, it was a bootlegged haji copy, but I was enamored by the show, wholly! Gave rib breaking laughs from 07-09. All we watched the Office. Youll never know how much your show help me get through my last 15 month tour. I was a Line Combat Medic in a Cavalry Regt. Through IEDs, kias, hand to hand, etc

One of the few officers who have had the balls to tell the truth about the war machine. His wikipedia article is heavily biased as well, lots of attempted mischaracterizations using, you guessed it, CNN and other left-wing media as sources.
It saddens me that i only know this guy by the name of Dwight and not his actual name! Then again i don’t watch a ton of TV/movies so me knowing him off of The Office is somewhat of a rare occasion for me lol.
But he seems like a great dude and truly is a good actor from what i’ve seen off of The Office. I loved that show years ago and it seems new people still watch it all the time. It’s a classic for sure.

I had a hard time this morning. Not because I have to get after it but because I couldn't contain myself during the intro reading on doughey baby head. This was gold. Good work Jocko and echo.

When we redirect our energy and attention to our thoughts, actions, beliefs, and opinions, especially pertaining to being a holistically good person the way in which we choose to conduct ourselves on a moment to moment basis becomes the conduit to happiness and fulfillment.

Jocko has more insight than any licensed therapist I've encountered. Jocko doesn't need a therapist, he can detach, and see things for what they are..
His childhood background was not expected at all but interesting. Oh, and The Office (U.S) is better by a long shot. One of best TV shows of all time.

And on the note about the song - I mean, Rainn talked about how he was raised pretty damn poor too, yet he didn't get all bumed out and all (not to mention, in this podcast I see what his outlook was on negative, cynical content - not something he liked to pursue as he found it unconstructive (I think that view is somewhere around the 3 hr mark here, though I may be wrong)).
