    Yep, looks like that turbine shaft was already a bit smoked and they reused it anyways without even prepping the surface beyond bead blasting. I wonder if they actually checked the clearance at all once it was reassembled? What is your general opinion on steel vs brass/bronze thrust bearings? Thanks for the video! I love turbocharger disassembly and failure analysis. If you feel like glancing through my latest video about the new MXR ball bearing turbos I would love it if you had any thoughts. Obviously understand you are busy though!

      I think the shop just wanted it out the door and the money in their bank! Hate to see this, but it happens quite regularly I am afraid. If the customer had sent it back in, they probably would have blamed it on him somehow...Sad. -Reed
