Thank you. We love Easley. Nice to see it while we're out of state.

The Doodle starts in Easley and runs 8 miles to Pickens, awesome trail but it's up hill both ways 😂. They called the train the Doodlebug because it went to Pickens forward and had to reverse the 8 miles back to Easley

Sounds like the path I took to school when I was a kid; up hill both ways. 🤣🤣🤣

@TimothyFrench it really is uphill both ways it's a fairly mountainous area but definitely worse going North West to Pickens

A quality tour of a nice looking town. I'm going to have to go back to your McAdenville video sometime soon....but not until December. Thanks for your continuing efforts Timothy.

I like the more rural towns. So I would pick Salem

Easley, SC is a nice, vibrant town that needs to invest in some pressure washers to tackle those hot mess sidewalks that seem to be everywhere. I really like how they placed that amphitheater in the area of that clock tower. Timothy, I enjoyed this walk and talk tour, and thank you for making it. GOD bless!

    • @TimothyFrench
      @TimothyFrench  Před 8 měsíci +1

Could definitely use some pressure washing 👍

Just discovered your channel and subscribed. I'm considering moving to SC in the future to retire. I've noticed in several of these towns there are no supermarkets or grocery stores. Where do residents buy food?

Thanks for subscribing. There is usually a store in a nearby town.

The dude trail is on down past the police department going the other way, but yeah, they tore down our doodle train station that was not our best day we’ve ever had that should never been done

Nice video. I think the people here lack humanity. Especially around the holidays. Spirit of giving is gone. I live in my van. Currently at the libe before e. I have asked so many churches, foundations for just a bit of gas to be able to get to work. I havent got paid yet. Just started. Im shocked. Up north. Compassion goes along way. Not here. Nice video

Also, thank you for mentioning the skipping of Thanksgiving for 2 months of Christmas. I really don't like that. 😢

Why be so negative, complaining about the water fountain next to the gazebo and the wedding dress shop needing to touchup their paint. Just be thankful they are able to stay open in this high inflation economy.

      Thanks for asking the question.
I’m visiting a town from a visitors perspective and first impression are everything. If things look run town, or a stores paint is fading. People are less likely to stop and shop. Simple things like art and decorations along store fronts can go a long way in bringing customers in.
That being said business are struggling and money is tight; I realize this. But letting things get run down will crush one business after another until there are none. I have seen this in smaller towns.
Easley is a great town and I can see the work its citizens have done.
It has been my goal with this video series to bring people back to their town centers. And I do this by showing the good, the bad, and the ugly in the hopes of giving towns and business a fresh look from a visitors point of view.
I want the best for every town, I want their businesses to succeed. Because their failure will limit our choice leaving us with the same generic business that surround most towns today.
I do not mean to offend, so I’m glad you asked.
      Thank you.

@@TimothyFrench I totally agree. The Broken Windows Theory of Criminology suggests that visible signs of disorder and neglect, such as broken windows or graffiti, can encourage further crime and anti-social behavior in an area, as they signal a lack of order and law enforcement.
