  • Wow these people in South Carolina aren't even loaded!
Today, we’re going to explore the richest cities in South Carolina. Some of these places are out of your budget, but ALL of these places are all very nice and safe. If you’re thinking about moving to South Carolina, and you want to live in any of these South Carolina cities we’ll talk about, you’d better be able to bring home the dough though. Depending on where you live, some of the cities we’ll talk about might not be that expensive. Or maybe they are.
In order to rank the richest cities in South Carolina, we collected census data for every South Carolina city with more than 5,000 residents. I looked at how much each household earns annually, how many people are unemployed, and what percentage of the population lives in poverty. I then based on median income level, unemployment rates, and poverty rates. We then took this data and assigned each city a score to rank them.
Here are the richest cities in South Carolina.

I loved living in South Carolina from 2008 to 2013! I lived in Summerville which was next to Charleston and I worked in Hanahan at the BiLo which is now Lowe’s in the beginning of your video. my kids and I would always go to Isle of Palms beach over by Mount Pleasant. And I lived in Simpsonville for a year before I moved here to San Antonio and I worked off Publix before they moved it over down around the corner

Well, Nick, you convinced us. First with the video on Greenville. We checked out Upstate South Carolina and our offer on a house was accepted for a home in Greer, near Greenville and Spartanburg. It's funny how making the decision on a place for retirement was the hardest one of all. It came down to Tennessee or SC. We had specific requirements as I am also a pilot with a small plane and we want to keep flying for as long as I am able to. Airpark homes are more difficult to find and more expensive. We have previously rented a hangar but in the current market none are available and probably won't be for years. Tennessee is definitely more tax friendly, with no income tax, and no tax on retirement income. I will pay more tax in SC while I continue to work part time, but very minimal tax in full retirement. Property taxes are low in both states. There seems to be much more sound fiscal policy with excellent public-private collaboration on issues such as homelessness as well. I'm a Northerner, and my primary worry is cockroaches! Here's hoping upstate is better than the lowlands in that regard. Additionally, we found out that there are opportunities there to help with real solutions for homelessness (for those who want to change their lives), which my wife and I want to be involved in. Also, we work in medical missions in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and we will be closer for our flights there. Overall, a win-win. You have amazing content and we will keep watching your channel. We have also joined your Patreon. Keep up the good work.

The best public schools in the state.... and that still doesn't say much. Surprised nothing from the upstate was listed. Which is good for my family, since we're leaving Charleston for Greenville soon!

i grew up in south carolina! kindergarten - high school. my parents werent the richest but we got by. lived in irmo, near columbia and lexington, and chapin! its southern. its friendly. its cozy. and you dont gotta be super rich to live okay. buuuuuut i happened to get into a lot of trouble with Lexington county… because of my own choices. not because of the state. you choose your way in south carolina. school is important. sports is important. making a living is important. family is important. there is bad, but you dont have to choose bad here. if you want out the south and want more…. you can make it happen. schools are good enough to get ya out! i love south carolina. but living in las vegas, ive missed a lot of culture living in SC. the culture is southern. i went to Plantations for field trips in school. picked cotton in 2nd grade!! LOL but its a beautiful state. and close to the coast. i hope it never changes. and remains slow. i want to retire there.
