I'm the same age as you. Growing up, my neighbor had a black 63 that he drove daily whenever there wasn't snow on the ground, and he wasn't out on his motorcycle. It was far from a show car, but it was solid and mechanically sound. Don't know where he moved to, but he's probably still driving it in his 70s somewhere, he always said he'd never sell it. 😂
