If you are not using elementor pro version then you cannot edit the header and footers, but in this video I explained how you can create a header and footer without buying elementor pro version. We will be using Elementor header and footer builder plugin to create custom header and footer using elementor free version.

Creating a header and footer without Elementor Pro using the Elementor Header and Footer WordPress plugin is a straightforward process. Here's a simple guide:
Header:
Install and Activate the Plugin:
In your WordPress dashboard, go to "Plugins" "Add New."
Search for "Elementor Header Footer" and install the plugin.
Create a Header Template:
After activation, go to "Header Footer Elementor" in your dashboard.
Click on "Add New" to create a new header template.
You'll be redirected to the Elementor editor.
Design Your Header:
Use the Elementor editor to design your header. Drag and drop elements, add a logo, navigation menu, and any other elements you want in your header.
Set Display Conditions:
Scroll down to the settings and set display conditions. You can choose where you want the header to appear (e.g., entire site, specific pages, posts).
Save the Template:
Once you're satisfied with your header design, click "Save" in the Elementor editor.
Footer:
Install and Activate the Plugin:
If you haven't already, install and activate the "Elementor Header Footer" plugin.
Create a Footer Template:

Hi, I was thinking of buying Elementor Pro and Astra Pro. Now I am wondering if it is really needed to have the pro version of Astra, but it is not clear to me what I will miss. What header/footer customizations, widgets, blog customization etc. would I miss with Elementor Pro/Astra Free?
Honestly, I never needed to buy those pro versions. but if you really want to accelerate the process and save the time then you can buy those pro versions. I don't recommend strongly anyone to buy ASTRA pro or ELEMENTOR pro versions. There are plenty of plugins so if you use free versions you will not miss anything.

Followed the steps and published the header and then clicked Edit With Elementor as you show, but a page comes up saying preview could not be loaded 404 not found. When I clicked the "click here for preview debug" it says The page does not appear to exist. What is going on?
Hey mate, There can be many possible reasons for this. REally hard to say something without seeing your site.
Rest try disabling cache plugin if you have.
Make sure the page is published.
Clear the cache / check in another browser in private mode.
update website plugins/ theme and wp versions.

Hello dear, hard to say without looking into the website. but check plugins settings for the header template. Some themes or plugins might allow conditional display of headers based on page types (home, category, etc.).

You might be using a speed optimization plugins hindering with the natural flow of the page builder. Few tips for you.
1) Update wordpress, plugins, themes.
2) Deactivate speed plugins and then try again.
3) deactivate all the plugins and enable them one by one to find out the culprit plugin breaking the page builder. wait for another update of that plguin or replace that one with another one not breaking the site.
my previous header didn't remove....
check if you can disable it in the theme options or in elementor builder and use just one created with this new header and footer builder plugin

I don't think anyhosting ignores that, DMCA was created to keep your content safe. however not many hostings actively look for the website not following the DMCA untill someone report them. I would not suggest you to not follow DMCA as it might cause you a fine/removal of services.
If you are planning to sell products and the content is proivided by the manufacturer you can use it freely without DMCA.
