The Cult: for rockers, ravers, lovers and sinners! Great and powerful band ever!
Yessssss
Bravoo
I fell in love with them after Rick Rubin stripped them down their hard rock souls. Became one of my favorite pure rock n roll bands. Them and the Black Crowes are two of the best pure rock bands to come out of that generation. Both still rocking I believe. :)

Baby, baby, baby...I fell from the sky!!! Love it!!!
i watched them with billy idol back in the day, they blew the door out and I have been a fan ever since
Now that's proper Rock and Roll... Amazing band 😎😎😎😎😎😍😍😍
Badass
Still my favorite Cult album..stripped down straight ahead rock n roll 🤟
It's easy to forget how insane this seemed in 1987. No one was doing anything like this, the nearest you got to balls out rock n roll was The Jesus and Mary Chain. The Cult meant it. They weren't messing around with some Zeppelin tribute act, they were the real deal. I saw them on this tour and they brought the noise.
@ 😂
@ 🤣🤣🤣
I loved the Cult back then, but come on man, they basically switched from psychedelic goth to heavy metal/rock and did an excellent job of it.
@ Thanks short man. I aim to please.
We Bring the Noise would be a great thing to name a tour tho
Black guitars, leather, t-shirts, denim and shades.
And Marshall stacks.
Proper order.
doesn't get more rock and roll than that does it
Is there any other company that makes amps?
@@I_Have_The_Most_Japanese_Music Blackstar makes good amps
@@I_Have_The_Most_Japanese_Music James Williamson swears on them
TOP of the Pops was always a mimed show to the studio recording. The Cure are the greatest at bucking them, but I think Billy Duffy shaded them here too by going back to playing rhythm guitar while the solo was still playing. I think they'd have liked to play live instead of miming.
Best The Cult formation.
ELECTRIC IS THE BEST ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIMES!!!
NAH THAT'D BE MONTROSE FROM 1973...
This is how the performances of The Cult should be seen.. In HD!
When I saw them open for Billy Idol I had no idea who they were then......1987, I think.
La banda de rock n roll más grande
Eletric o ápice da carreira do The Cult , inequecível esse album, quando quero ouvir o bom e velho Hard Rock ouço ele do início a fim
Those lyrics are so filthy and dirty. I love it!
Lovely song
The Album Cover where this single is from is so cool. Still havent gotten a vinyl, album and the extended s
These are great videos. Love the HD. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
Excellent
Great upload. Thank you. Lockdown has been more tolerable unlocking these musical gems. xxx
This band knows how to do it
I remember hearing this is Legend's night club Manchester Thursday nights,, great pa in there, this blew up!!
Severe culture shock comes to the totp studios
Love love love The Cult! Love Ian's moves too! Sexiest man in Rock! ❤
Catchy rock song, Goth look is on point, guitarist wearing Iron Cross Based. 🔥🔥🔥
I shredded "electric" Vinyl when young
Wonderfullllllllll
Rick Rubin stripped them down all the way to their hard rock souls. Electric is on my desert island list. Pure hard rock with feeling.
Yes! As much as I (and probably many others) enjoy Love, Dreamtime, and maybe even Southern Death Cult stuff, Rick Rubin stripped ‘em down as you said. To see just how different Electric would have been without Rubin, suggest anyone look up The Manor Sessions tracks. Electric would have sounded more like Love 2.0.
@@stringbean1971 the whole album was released as Peace a good few years back.
Not one off track on that one. AWESOME!!!
@@Weshopwizard Thats what I mean!! I cant think of a single song that I would hit "skip" on
Imagine if Joy Division got this treatment. I'm pretty rubin did new order at one point but it wasn't the same.
Dig it!! 🖤🎶🥀
Yea this the shit💪💪👍👍
🤩🤩🤩….R&R babyyyyy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I fell from the sky
Never heard this edit before - no guitar solo!
Criminal given how good a solo it is.
Start Me Up!!!!
that guiatarist is a fuckin legend.
Where are you im waiting.
This was a dubbed performance. They werent actually playing
The cult brought the nitro into Roc n Roll
Electric is a masterpiece in no small way due to Rick Rubin producing it. He had produced Slayer Reign and Blood and Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill just months apart from the Cult Electric.
Reign In Blood
Great band. Always loved the cult. Billy Duffy was huge influence. Hate his hair in this video but his playing style is awesome!!
Billy: how’s your own hair, mate!
80s were bad ass
This is too heavy for the crowd, they don't know what to think lol
music before real music died
Forgot how great this band was, WOW! SHAME NO MORE.

Dang. Sounds just like the record. 🤣
Too bad this was the shortened version.
Not see death head on Ian's hat.....fknaye
QUE PODER DESPLIEGA , no me extraña que fuera elegido por los DOORS!!!!
I am him
Love The Cult but this isn't live.
As I never tire of saying, TOTP appearances were hardly ever live. There were a few exceptions - New Order, All About Eve (after things went wrong for them during the first "miming" broadcast), Megadeth etc.. Apparently, this was to do with the fact that the BBC would have to pay more if the song was performed live, due to Musicians' Union rules at the time in the UK.
@@Albrecht777 I think originally it wasn't even shot on a soundstage.
they got no Amps!!! wtf?
This isn't even a live performance
Please see my answer to Marc Keslow above.

Epic band. Great lip sync.
Badge on the singer's hat......pendant round the guitarist's neck. Retrospective prison sentence incoming, as of 2024 perhaps?
If there was son of Jesus Christ, who would he be
Lip sync. Astbury never sang this well live.
That's got to be the worst title for a song ever !!!
shite.
Only in one's ears
Ok, if you say so
Why are you watching then Eddie?! The Cult are badass, sexy and brave!
SHAMEFUL DUBBING BY THE CULT...
