How many of you guys are sitting there(like me) thinking, “I miss watching MTV with my friends on Saturday video after video.” The 80’s was all about the video. When they premiered a new video, we had to be there to see it. I LOVE this song!!!!!!! They are so awesome, like totally.
I remember leaving the TV on ... loud .. and when I would hear a video come on that I loved, I'd come flying from where ever I was. My mom was always suspiciously there before me when Steve Perry was singing. Seems I wasn't the only one loving MTV.
@@wickedmirage My mom & I watched MTV together. She kept it on 24/7 in our house. We got the channel when it first came out. She said some salesperson knocked on the door & explained what MTV was, & she invited him in & signed up for the channel that same day.
Yes, "heavy rotation" was a phrase used on many a H&O song! What I love about looking back on these is how players/singers/recording artists were suddenly needing to develop some acting chops, to a degree! Some, like Bowie, made the transition seamlessly, but others seemed pretty uncomfortable needing to act a bit for this new, camera-centric video vehicle!
Hall and Oates greatest hit!!! Has all the components to make anyone tap a toe or swing their hips or bop their head... regardless of their music preference! That's what makes a song powerful and great

One of my favourite Hall & Oates songs. First time I ever backed up on a reaction and watched a bit again. Omg when he hit that high note, your reaction was great!
Big Bang Boom was the first album I memorized in its entirety! I listened to it so many times I could not possibly quantify it! It reaffirmed my love for Hall & Oates!
I didn’t appreciate these H & O songs as much as I should have when they were released because I pigeonholed the group as ‘pop’ , which I’ve never been a big fan of. Now I’m enjoying being a pupil in Jamel’s re-education camp. Party on !
I agree with you Love of Plants. Jamel is making my feet move and head bop with these tunes that I never paid much attention to back in those days. He gets me smiling and singing loud enough to scare my dog. Jamel is Prozac for the ears!

And then, when I got my first stereo that had not only a turntable, but a cassette player in it, my dad took me to buy some packages of blank cassettes (like Memorex...we all used those!) and I would record my vinyl albums, and 45 records, onto the cassettes. Hall And Oates the unofficial R&B Pop duo. All black folks from my timeline in the 80s listened to their music and still do. I know I do
The 80s is the last time where “Pop Music” was actually popular with everyone! Lol this is my favorite Hall & Oats song!
