Yes, "heavy rotation" was a phrase used on many a H&O song! What I love about looking back on these is how players/singers/recording artists were suddenly needing to develop some acting chops, to a degree! Some, like Bowie, made the transition seamlessly, but others seemed pretty uncomfortable needing to act a bit for this new, camera-centric video vehicle!

YES!!! I was born in 1973, so I was also a big Star Wars fan, and loved to listen to the radio, and go to our local department stores, go to the electronics department, and look at all of the vinyl albums and 45 single records! I never wanted to shop for clothes or toys, I always went straight to the music department, and stayed there until my mom or dad gave me money for the latest vinyl album, or record, I wanted badly! I bought many a Duran Duran records in the 80s! I remember my very first 45 record I bought. It was "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. I wore that record out! And then, when I got my first stereo that had not only a turntable, but a cassette player in it, my dad took me to buy some packages of blank cassettes (like Memorex...we all used those!) and I would record my vinyl albums, and 45 records, onto the cassettes. That way, I could play/listen to them in my "jam box," and the cassette player in our cars! There was no downloading songs on your phone, or computer. The struggle was real! You had to make sure your vinyl albums and 45 records were clean, and didn't have any scratches, because there's nothing worse than listening to an album you recorded onto a cassette, and then in the middle of a song, it skips! 🤦 And then, if the tape got caught in the cassette player, you had to get your trusty pencil, and twist and turn it until all of the tape went back up into the cassette! To be honest, I really miss doing that! Generation X-ers have memories that can't compare to any other generation! We got to see a lot of technology invented in our lifetime!
